It's been a busy day as everyone and I mean everyone (including all 9 of my brother in-laws, my 3 brothers and their partners, kids etc) descend on us today.

But the hubby probably got me the best prezzie ever (I've taught him well )!!!!
Tickets to an advance showing of "Need For Speed", as the hubby knows I have a major LB for Aaron Paul.

Sorry I am late with the birthday wishes but I am so hooked on Candy Crush, hubs is about to cart me off.

Have you tried Comp Sem 101 by bornonhalloween? Bella starts out as plus sized.

I just hate it when she's plus sized then gets skinny and suddenly everyone likes her. Hope that doesn't happen :3

If I remember correctly, Edward notices her when she's plus sized. She was not so nice at first. She definitely improves though.

Lately I've been in a fic funk and haven't found anything new that calls out to me, so I was going back and re-reading some of my favs. I saw there was an update to The Heir and The Spare by sleepyvalentina earlier this month and had a nice refresher. It's one of the very few WIP's I have bookmarked I think it's also the lightest story that she's got up. Last year I had to force myself to read Art After 5. The summary freaked me out but the writing was so good. The content freaked me out, but the writing was still SO good. I went in thinking "wow, this is not going to end well" and every possible scenario I had in my head was written in that fic. I think the EPOV, Counterpoint was even harder to read because his character was so emotional and sleepyvalentina did a great job capturing that in her writing. I referred to skipping over chapters where characters are dating new people, because this Edward was dating his classmate and still constantly thinking about Bella, even though she was a hot mess in her own right. Just ugh. So much melodrama!

I was reading sleepyvalentina's blog, and it looks like she pulled Art After 5 to publish back in 2010, but kept up the EPOV so a lot of readers disliked Bella solely because her story was nowhere to be found, so she probably seemed like this malicious older woman out to break teenage Edward's heart. Have you all read either of these? I know it's super old at this point but I think it's the only Older Bella fic I've read. I tend to avoid the stories with teenagers dating older characters because I don't think they have enough life experience to be fleshed out.

Yep! There's even a short 3rd part to the series called Some Little Girls set in the future when they're married and expecting. IT JUST TAKES FOREVER TO GET THERE. At one point 17 year old Edward is crying in the bathroom after Bella said something insensitive regarding his age in Art After 5, then if you bother to read Counterpoint you'll get the story from the perspective from a teenage boy who feels eeeeeverything.

You might wanna wring the characters necks out of frustration every now and then. There's such emphasis placed on Edward being MATURE FOR HIS AGE, but a 17/18 year old guy is still going to be a clueless dumbass every now and then.

Shoot me now! I read a real book and it was a WIP!! Should have known better but i love this author and series. Was so excited seeing Grant and Harlow's story finally told i forgot Abbi Glines penchant for "cutting" stories. Still, Take A Chance was worth the read. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Highly rec her entire Rosemary Beach series.

Wow, I'm actually reading this right now. I hate that it's to be continued....I feel like holding off. I'm really enjoying it so it's gonna be hard.

NB: BTW, I liked Art After 5, I was a bit reticent because of the age difference but the author dealt with it really well and it didn't make me feel like a pervert which was what I was scared of. The story moved along at a good pace and had a balanced amount of drama and fluff, Edward is adorable and also kinda bad ass when needed...3.8*-ish.

I absolutely love Mobward and I think Ive exhausted all available on ff and TWCS and Twilighted.

Any pulled ones would be great or just some that you've read which I may not have...

I was so excited to read it, i gave in and got the ibooks app for my iphone and copied it there. First time i was willing to read on my iphone. And Ella, now i know why you prefer epubs. It's absolutely the best format for reading on an iphone. I was worried i would be squinting the entire time but was pleasantly surprised i could read it well on the phone.

now i can leave my ipad at home if i have to go somewhere where carrying a bag would be impractical/unnecessary. Will just make sure to put some books on my phone and am good to go.

Yeah I finished it. Of course now we wait a year for the next one. I just hate to wait. Let me ask this, do you have a system for keeping up with the books you are waiting for? I mean every damn book these days is a wip and I've forgotten some I've read and am supposed to be waiting for the follow up book. I'm getting old, my memory is not as good as it used to be...ginko here I come. I need some sort of system reminder.
epub is the best format, I agree.
