Until yesterday, I didn't even know what Dusty is/was.

Big cajones or she's certifiable...Dusty, you know! Sheeet!  .....I'm using this gun a fair bit today; I must be a bit agro.

 Lol, when it comes Shey Stahl you can use that gun as much as you like hun. I'm ashamed that I even bought any of her books, but I did manage to get a refund on them so it's not all bad.

Okay, I read the letter. Or skimmed it. I never read Dusty and probably never will. Not my cup of tea.  And I'm totally against plagiarism.  But if what she said happened actually happened? This p*sses me off.  There are way too many bullies in this fandom. You don't make threats against a person's kids or family. Or tell them to kill themselves.  She copied stuff. She didn't kill anyone. Sue her for money. Or get your money back. The rest is wrong.

Okay then. * steps off soapbox* 

And I'm glad the ladies here do not do this.   

This will probably make me some enemies on this site, but I think it needs to be said.  I think people in the fandom take things a bit too personally.  I've been in communities where "I'll kill you/your family/your dog/whatever" has been said many times.  A lot of times it's basically a type of trash talk.  It's a harsh form of trashtalk, but given the annonymity that the internet gives us, that's inevitable that people are bold enough to say these things.

My personal experience is this.  The whole issue of "I'll kill you. "Go Die." "/yourself".  I've had those things said to me in more than a joking matter over 100 times and I have been stalked (and yes I had/have proof of it).  Maybe it's because I'm a guy or maybe it's because of what communities I've come from, but I learned how to filter out and in a sense, not obsess about such comments, unless they're proven to be more serious and they rarely are. FWIW, I have only 1 active FB.  It's my personal one and it's not that hard to find me and stalk me using that or a simple google search.

And yes I know it's much harder to take harsh comments then give them out. But I know, by default, I'm the outlier.

I'm sorry I haven't been around. You might remember that I hit a pit of a rocky patch at the end of last year. Well, that rocky patch turned into boulders and then there was a landslide followed by an earthquake.

I'm doing much better now though, and am trying to get my life back to normal - and a big part of that is coming back here to chat with all of you lovely ladies.

I've missed you all so much, and I really appreciated the sweet messages of support I got from those of you who emailed or DMed. It really meant so much to me, so thank you. 

I'm going to apologise in advance if I ask questions but I just can't face going back and reading everything from the last few months. It's great to see Booked is keeping moral high with pictures of our boy looking very dapper, albeit cold and a little weary.

Well, it's well and truly past my Sunday night bedtime, but I just couldn't stay away for another day. I hope you've all been keeping safe and well and am looking forward to finding out what you've all been up to.

As far as I am aware no one threatened her family or her daughter, but then I suppose we don't the full extent of everything that happened over this.
We only know what was put out on the internet etc.
But if anyone did threaten her, her family or her daughter shame on them. 

I'm not on Twitter much anymore, but I have heard and seen some of the nastiness that gets said there. I tried to avoid a lot of those people. 

And FaceBook is just as bad.   

LOL! Everyone is allowed an opinion here.  And I realize that people throw out phrases like "I'll kill you!" - I mean as kids, we used to say stuff like that.  But when you start publishing peoples real names and information about family members, especially kids, it can be scary.  There are some psychos in this fandom.  And, unfortunately, the anonymity of the Internet gives them more power or feelings of safety in their nastiness.

I am all for calling someone on plagiarism and any other bad behavior.  But really? You shouldn't say anything online that you wouldn't say to someone's face.   

And I apologize in that I didn't realize we had a guy here.   I will have to change my wording 

I know the casual/half joking use of the word and I know the more threatening version and I have been threatened over 100 times and I have been stalked before, but thanks.  I don't doubt that there are some disturbed people but luckily or not, the stories I could tell from other places I think could be a fair bit worse than what this fandom has seen.  And yes, it's way too easy to stalk people these days.  The internet is good, but people hand out personal details way too easily and without meaning to.

Ella, I believe we're FB friends. I can say I've been stalked through FB before and with what's on my profile and what you could find through basic searches....  But I digress.  For what it's worth, I would say anything I've said here and elsewhere to your or anyone else's face.  Most people who know me offline know I'm very blunt, sometimes inappropriately and surprisingly so.

And not sure if you were trying to be cute, but there are people in the fandom who don't realize I'm a guy, even though I don't think I've ever tried to hide it.
