Thread #5 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

The problem for me with Jackson is that the first time I saw him, he played a really pretty transvestite on Criminal Minds. Really pretty and totally psycho.  Did a good job.

And really, basing his acting abilities on the Twilight movies is wrong.  The dialogue in those things was so bad.  I really hoped they would fix the problems with the book in the screenplay.  But really, she just made it worse.   :P

He was great in that!

But everyone on twilight seemed constipated. I still don't know how or why I read the books AFTER watching twilight.

I still haven't watched BD part 2.  I think I watched the first couple minutes.  Bella looked awful.  Not beautiful like she is supposed to in the book.  She looked like a meth addict.  What happened to the venom making you look better and everything?

Though she did threaten to beat up Jake.  Always a good thing in my book.

So yeah, read the books first.  Though a late starter.  I bought Twilight when it first came out and it sat on the shelf until right before Breaking Dawn came out.  Then I read them all at once.  ;D

I didn't watch the movie until it came out on DVD.   ;D

Shoot! In all the Bender excitement I forgot what I came here for. So apparently ( Mary Elizabeth is hoping mad once again) the author that plagiarised and then published Dusty (...wait a second while I get over that statement....) has published another book You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login I can't help but wonder...has she done it again? Now the only car racing fics I've read is Chasing Victory and Claiming Victory by mpg and by the summary it ain't one of those...Who's that Twific author that does nothing but Nascar? I have some of hers on my TBR but I can't remember the name..

I have never posted to this site, just lurked, but this is really crazy.  I can't believe the nerve.

The link to this book summary is EXACTLY the same fanfic Lapped Traffic (jaydmommy).  I know because I happened to be re-reading that this week.

PS - I loved Dusty too.

Bwahahahahahahaha

Don't worry, I've never read it.  It's very angsty.  If you like angst and don't care that the ending is not really what you would think of as happy? Read it.

Otherwise, if you find angst annoying like me and need an HEA , avoid it at costs!  *runs and hides from Demaris*
Dusty is basically Thelma and Louise. Take a huge epic journey that's half a million words long full of nothing but dumb teenagers with self created drama only to get to the end and find yourself wanting to drive off a cliff. What's worse is that I can look back at my own teenage experience and match up many of the same situations and still want to die of embarrassment  :o I'm still mad at myself for reading it! The prologue sucked me in and the actual story was complete different from what I was expecting.

But Dusty was so tame compared to mamasutra's brand of angst. She makes me hate everything.

That's because Shey Stahl/jaydmommy was the author for Lapped Traffic. She pulled it to publish, and it became Happy Hour.

Oh! Because Ian Somerhalder doesn't over-act at all! :D :D Come on! If he acted any more 'crazy eyes' they'd fall out!  :D :D :D

Oh I know, but I love his crazy eyes! He doesn't need to talk.

I've seen Jackson in other things.

Also, I read Dusty and I couldn't figure out what the ending was. I have a newborn so I'm not running on all cylinders.

Jackson will always be that crazy cross dressing serial killer on Criminal Minds to me. Pretty, but wacko!

This will probably make me some enemies on this site, but I think it needs to be said.  I think people in the fandom take things a bit too personally.  I've been in communities where "I'll kill you/your family/your dog/whatever" has been said many times.  A lot of times it's basically a type of trash talk.  It's a harsh form of trashtalk, but given the annonymity that the internet gives us, that's inevitable that people are bold enough to say these things.

My personal experience is this.  The whole issue of "I'll kill you. "Go Die." "/yourself".  I've had those things said to me in more than a joking matter over 100 times and I have been stalked (and yes I had/have proof of it).  Maybe it's because I'm a guy or maybe it's because of what communities I've come from, but I learned how to filter out and in a sense, not obsess about such comments, unless they're proven to be more serious and they rarely are. FWIW, I have only 1 active FB.  It's my personal one and it's not that hard to find me and stalk me using that or a simple google search.

And yes I know it's much harder to take harsh comments then give them out. But I know, by default, I'm the outlier.

I completely agree with you and the gals about some people taking things too seriously, bullying or threatening others. That's just so wrong. And am soooo glad none of us are like that here in this particular thread.  :)

Sorry to be rude, but out of all the things you wrote, this was my major take away:

Maybe it's because I'm a guy

 :P ^-^ :D

I actually love a hefty dose of angst, but I have to have my HEA at the end or I just can't invest that much emotion into reading!   I've heard too many people disappointed with the Dusty ending for me to give it a chance at this point.  I'll admit I'm insanely curious about it, but I'm just afraid I will want to go hide under a rock for a year or something after I read it.

Call me sane, but I just can't see throwing out threats to someone's life or safety unless they are personally a threat to my own family's safety. It's books, it's fic, it's reviews. It's not life or death, and even a plagiarist doesn't deserve to have their life and most especially, their kids' lives threatened.

Yes! Angst is good (so long as it's not just over the top, problem after problem after problem just for the sake of angst), so long as I get my romance and my HEA.

huh, I never realized you're a guy but it doesn't matter either... we just have to think of something else to ask you for our spreadsheet  :D

Booked! You're slacking here! There are newish members who seem to want to stay! Rope them in!  ;)

Ooops, sorry to be slacking Anch but RL is quite hectic. I did make an effort to ask the newbies sometime in Jan. But i got no reply from them .... So, let's try this again:

:welcome:  to our newbies and not so newbies

Pls let me welcome you to our thread by asking the following questions
Where are you from?
How tall are you?
What is your shoe size?
What is your bra size?

Don't worry, majority of us here have already shared this, and more as you will find out reading the past threads.
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Hope you guys stick around and join the fun.

Dasbaiyo, i was sorely tempted to ask you the size of that unique body part that makes you a male,  but that would be way too intrusive already.  ^-^ :-\ So, my additional question to the only guy i know in this thread is:
Are you single?
We have a lot of lovely single ladies here  ;) But, this is not really a dating site (might feel incestous, bec after sharing our inner selves here, we are like family). I look forward to hearing your thoughts about the topics we randomly discuss around here. Will be good to see a man's perpective, not only of those females here who are single/married, with/without kids.  :). Hey, have you ever heard of the Diva Cup?  :D :D

Yup, like Fridays at Noon. That level of angst i can handle  :)
Even Emancipation Proclamation was sooooo heavy but for me, it was well written and had HEA so it was worth the read.
Oh, and Offside too!
These are in my top 10.  :)

Eternally Damned  by twiXlite   Edward is THE ultimate vampire. The original. What happens when a visit to the Volturi causes him to pay the Cullens' a visit? Will he find them a threat to the world he's spent an eternity shaping or will he leave them be and let them live in peace?
Twilight - Rated: M - English - Supernatural/Romance - Chapters: 36 - Words: 173,728 - Reviews: 4481 - Favs: 4,789 - Follows: 2,587 - Updated: Apr 30, 2013 - Published: Apr 27, 2009 - Edward, Bella - Complete

So far its good.  Edward is not so nice and sweet.  And really really really old.... But still hot.  I guess he was 17 when turned.  I'm wondering if his original name was Ehd.    :D :D :D :D
