  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #4 - We are crazy talkers here!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

Lychee is an exotic imported fruit. It's very expensive . That's the juice that flavors the martini. I'm kinda partial to a pineapple martini

Googling recipe for pineapple martini...

And we all know what pineapple juice does

Not that it helps me - but you ladies with husbands might appreciate a batch  :D

A lychee martini is what I'm drinking right now - it is 5:30pm on Friday afternoon. It's not like I'm having one for breakfast!  ;)

I've attached the proper recipe but usually I make a much easier version. I used canned lychees, because fresh ones are only available around December/January.

My lazy version is: Mix 2 tablespoons of the juice/syrup from a can of lychees, 2 tablespoons of lychee liquor, 3 lychees, a squeeze of lime (I always have lime because I keep them in my freezer), crushed ice in a martini glass, then top up with vodka.

Enjoy! I always do  >:D

I love lychees, but peeling them is always so annoying...  ;D But they are so expensive that we don't have them that often, canned ones are quite as good.

I'll try your recipe sometimes, thank you!  :-*

So, today is the last day of school for my son, summer holidays starting now!
He'll be home soon, with his first big report card from his new school . And it schould be a good one, only As and Bs.

I'm a proud mom today!  :)

You all were right, Bad News Bella was another good one (short too). Sweet with a little mystery.

I think I'm all sweeted out though. Feel like I need to switch it up. 180 degrees. I think I'm going to try some Savage now. Has anyone read Caged or Surviving Bella?

Yep - both are good, but I think I preferred Surviving Bella.

If you want angst, I'm still reading High Fidelity and it is angsty angst angst!

And really good!

Geez you girls read fast. Some are on their 2nd or 3rd 107yroldvirgin story. I'm 6 chp into Maybe. But then again working 15 hrs today. 45 min to work, 45 min home. A bath. It just doesn't leave much time for reading before 430 am is here again to start the cycle all over.

Sing it, Sister!

I can't complain about lack of reading (and sleeping) time because it's self-inflicted. After working long days too, I have been staying up way too late to watch the cricket...which started immediately after Wimbledon, so I crawl into bed, blink, and then my alarm goes off!

Damn English - just because they're hosting these events, they think they have the right to broadcast them live in UK time!  ::)

The end of the school year for us here in Australia is in December, which is also when we get all of the stone fruit and tropical fruit.

So, the last day of the school year is always when I eat cherries, lychees, watermelon, peaches, apricots, etc because that's when they are at their least expensive, and like my mum used to, a lot of current mums will send a big plate in for the end of year parties.

I bought 3 bottles of lychee liqueur this afternoon - it's hard to come by, and I have only found it in one bottle shop here in Rockhampton. My current bottle is getting low, so I made the trek and stocked up.

That should keep me going for a while now - at least till Monday LOL!

The creator of the original 152 thread had a list of 152 fanfics she was willing to share.  We've continued to have the 152 number in the thread just for continuity.  When we have to start a new thread, maybe we should discard the number and make it a more generic Twilight fanfiction thread.  Or should we continue to have 152 in the name?  Give me your thoughts, please.  A new thread is not that far in the future.

Booked - hope that answers your question.

thanks ficfangirl! i know there was a suggestion in the other thread to combine all twilight requests into 1 thread. My vote was to have just 1 twilight fanfiction requests, 1 recs/discussions, 1 flounce and those other non-canon pairings. I am partial to the "152" as that was also the first i ever visited.

The 2 boards that I visit the most are both sitting on page 66.

I've been watching the page count on the other one - it moves MUCH slower than this one - kinda in spits and starts -  :D  :D  :D - and this one snuck up on me.

Wow - you don't ever want a 69 to sneak up on you!  :o

I'm laughing so hard right now my belly and sides hurt.  Why? Because Chris O'Dowd is a good girl

I know, right now you're probably like  :sign0137: and  :wtf:, but I shall clarify... a little.  I'm catching up on my Graham Norton shows for the season that just ended and he has Steve Carrell, Kristen Wiig and Chris Dowd on one of the funniest couches.  I don't want to spoil, because you have to watch the the WHOLE show for lots of laughs and you'll see why Booked's question made me laugh while I was watching this show.  It was just perfect timing between catching up on this thread and watching the show at the same time.

I did a search on youtube and this was the best video I could find of this episode to share.  Seriously, you will be
