I finished up my Rochelle Allison streak (for now) by reading Sessions and Brighter, Appease, Venture. (Considering how much I liked Starry Eyed Inside, Volition, and Air, I'd say I've joined the RA fan club).

Sessions is a sweet one about how a lover of music and a musician grow into something more. Lots of music references in this appealing story. (Links on her blog of songs).

Brighter, Appease, Venture is 3 stories in one originated from witfit prompts. Each were good, so I rec them all.

Brighter was engaging throughout--nice and light. Edward and Bella meet in St. Croix. The idealic island life made me envious as I read. Sweet. (about 260 pages) Appease was really good. As nanny to Edward's much younger brother and sister, Bella instigates Edward's metamorphasis. Nice character growth. Read it straight through. (about 260 pages). In Venture, Edward and Bella meet on a bus on their way cross country. Only about 40 pages long, it was short and oh so sweet. I wish I got more of these two.

I think I've read this one but never finished. Does it happen to any of you that you are 100% sure you've never read a book/fic then you read it and almost done and then you realize that you have in fact read the whole thing. This happens to me often, and it annoys the crap out of me.

I will have to read Up. Sometimes I really don't like Alice anyway.  I usually like it more when Rose and Bella are friends.  Alice always makes me tired.  And I like shopping, but I would never shop with Alice.  Unless maybe I was an untiring vampire.  Really.  Someone should put sleeping pills in her coffee.

I've had Controlled Burn on my TBR list for a while. I keep forgetting it's there. Isn't it supposed to be funny?  I've seen it rec'd a lot, at least it was a couple years ago when I first started reading....

Was it any good? I like funny.

Register or Login by Cars1.  I liked Nineteen Canvasses so I figured this was worth a try.  Edward is a little um Sheldon-like?   Okay not that bad.  He's close to be OCD I'm not sure how he and Bella are going to work because she is totally opposite.

I liked By the Numbers by Cars1, but thought Nineteen Canvasses was so much better. I wish Cars1 (as Carson1 on twilighted) would finish Of Mustangs & Men, but I don't think that will happen.

I know what you mean, it's such a disappointment to re-read what you once loved and though was amazing, this has happened to me that I go to my 'once favorites' and they became my' what the hell was I thinking reading this'. Help Wanted is one of those, I love it but I don't think I can re-read it, starting because the chapters are so long filled with s e x and I can only handle it in small portions.

By the Numbers is next in my TBR list, I can't remember if I've read this so I decided to read Up instead.

grabbing you and not letting go! It was really good, but I can't pinpoint why it was so addictive--perhaps because B/E are so broken and written well. I was a little disappointed with the ending. To me, it's set up well for a sequel, but it's been a while so I wonder if any more will come of it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the links on Consummation, distractions and controlled burn. I don't know these fics, are they well rec'd?

We don't use "pop" for anything other than a sound effect. 

It's probably most common here to say "ice block" or "ice cream". Icy Pole is more a brand name that is now used more generically for the non milky/creamy frozen things on a stick.



These lemonade ones are amazing! After a big night out, they are just the thing to help battle a hangover! Breakfast of champions!

Not that I have any experience with that. 

(I have done 2 loads of laundry, changed the sheets on my bed, read 5 chapters of Antiques Roadshow, edited a chapter of a fic and talked on the phone to my mum for an hour, marked all of my maths tests from yesterday and the weekly homework - and read all the posts here from last night/this morning.   )
