Thread #4 - We are crazy talkers here!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

Hello Ms 2much!
How are you? Are you in France? Doing? I have been back for about 2 weeks, I think. Missing Savvy but so glad to see most of you ladies still here.  The 'I'm writing an article on p0rn' gig was up when I went off to France to edit my friend's book. Though she did email me yesterday to see if I was coming to LA in the next month as she has a couple of films she's going to be doing make-up on, one of which she thinks has MHFD (or was it MFHD? I can't remember what I dubbed him! Alzheimer's) on first option, though whether he'll actually confirm is yet up in the air. If he does?...Expect an forum update from the set!! :D :D :D

Holla!  I'm in beautiful Nice and should be here for another week or two before I have to head back to the states to prep to finish up prod there.  I've been sick as a dog though, but feeling better today.  I hate when a person doesn't cover their mouth and just coughs, coughs, coughs all over the place.  It's like that scene in Outbreak and I can see the germs flying through the air straight at me.  I know, it's psychological but I can't help it.  :-[

So, I know very well the power of make-up and how when applied with expert hands can transform, enhance, and beautify.  When my PA showed me this site though, I immediately thought of your cousin.  All I can say is she probably has magic hands because I'm sure she does the same to the women she works on.

Loopy - So glad to hear you're back, safe and sound!  Baby is doing well?

Anchalee - So jealous!  I WISH I could go to Kos.  Bah, I just wish I could lounge around on a beach somewhere for a week or two with a never ending supply of good books, delicious drinks, and Loopy's brothers-in-law hot guys.

Hello my lovelies I am finally home from hospital, yay!!   :cheer:
I just have to say that I would rather give birth everyday for a year drug free than have pyelonephritis and gallstones.  :o :oLMAO!!!
Do you really think this would stop me from having sex!! :P
I mean I'm in agony and still want it - we definitely can't do it the car park as we were caught over the car bonnet last year by security.  :o :D :D
Anyway, just so we know we did have sex in the elevator (which we may or may not have accidentally on purpose pressed the emergency stop button in!) and the great thing about is that it was a new elevator with a mirror on the back wall with a bar!!  :P :PHiya hun, feeling better than I did especially now I'm home.  :-*
Hi Loopy! So glad you are feeling a little better.  Or at least out of the hospital  I don't know how they think you can get any rest there.  Hospitals have to be the noisiest places in the world.

And why am I not surprised you had sex in the elevator.....  :D :D :D :D :D

The advantages to having a strong husband - wall sex!  ;D

My god... I just read the first chapter and already found so many spelling errors. I don't mind punctuation as much as spelling, even the summary has a typo.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

And it has so many reviews.  :omg:
I think I started this when it was a WIP, but I decided to wait for it to finish.  I definitely like the idea of it.  I don't remember all the SPaG errors though.

I followed and reviewed that story for a long time and really liked it. Just got caught up in real life and lost track...

I liked that the author knows what she is writing about, she knows how to write real people, Bella's pregnancy feels real... And it had so many funny scenes! I liked that with so much drama going on there was always something to laugh about, just like in real life...

and it didn't hurt that the author is awsome with replying to reviews, I had lots of fun talking to her!

I download heaps - more than I watch, actually - and I have only ever had one issue with a virus and that was my fault for turning my virus protection off.

It was when I was downloading music from frostwire and when my virus protection asked me if this was a trusted sight, I stupidly clicked yes.

Since using isoHunt and making sure my virus protection is always up to date, I haven't had a problem. I also only d/l shows/movies with plenty of comments or from uploaders with high ratings.

My friend d/l's straight to an external drive and watches everything through her TV to avoid viruses on her computer.

I will check out that site, although I've found that most sites like this (as well as online shopping) have some government block thingie on them. I saw a story on this on the news just last night - something about VPNs, so of course, my eyes glazed over and  I decided to stick with isoHunt!

I watched all of Scandal season 1+2 ( which is my crack) on that site plus Greys, Homeland, The Returned, countless films and even recently Only God Forgives (cos I needed a Gos fix during a boring Sunday afternoon) never had any problems with 'government block thingie'  :D Actually ALL of last year's Oscar nominated films are on there somewhere...

But your friends idea is very good actually, keep it all away from my livelihood, because really,if something happened to my computer id be up a creek without a paddle.

So EP is on hold for the moment.  Almost 500 pages in and still not really liking anything but Edward.  And let's face it. I almost always like Edward.

So I started The Cullen Legacy by PattyRose.  OMG! So good. I'm having a hard time putting it down.

I'm about halfway through according to my kindle.  ;)

Oh Ella, such a shame about EP..I've just read Principessa and it reminded me how much I liked this Edward. But Pattyrose is fantastic, I love her! Just re-read 12 Day of Christmas, and I very, very rarely re-read stuff, and now I'm making my way through her whole collection with the first (I think) It'll Be As If I'd Never Existed, which is actually interesting in so far you can see all the raw talent which will evolve into the writer she's become.

Yeah, Kos is beautiful...

But no need to be jealous! You do realize that I was there with my 3 kids, right?  I love them, but we only had one bedroom (where the kids slept) and me and hubs had to sleep on the small and lumpy couches in the living area, VERY close to the bedroom, so not much privacy anywhere...
Well it was better than Crete last year where they messed up our booking and we ended up with one room for five persons...  :P (thank god the bathroom was spacious enough to "hide" in there sometimes when the kids slept  ;) )

So I am in a reading funk. I read Hush by Maya Banks. It was ok, but before I go to book 2 and 3, I wanted something in between.
I read a novella, didn't do a thing for me.
So I saw this and I since I absolutely FLUV Grasping Darkness.
Is this my next fic?

or

Sigh....or do I read the last few Dirty Talked Edward fics that just posted

or

I may stand alone in this but I really enjoyed My Mate, I read it very early on in my fic career but I remember it still which is always a sign the a fic was good enough to withstand my early onset alzheimer's...Screamers? Errrr, *whispers* I got 'distracted' and kinda forgot to go back....

I'll go back to it.  It was just at one of those "mafia" places and well, it seems so fake to me.  So I get annoyed and I decided to put it down.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

And how can you be Italian mob with a last name of Cullen?   Sigh.  I know. It's fiction.  The problem with mafia stories? To do one good, it has to be really violent.  They are not good people.  You would not find a kind, caring doctor in there.  So to put Carlisle in the mafia without totally changing his character? Just doesn't work for me.

So small sections.  I will enjoy the bits of Edward and Bella.  And skim the rest.  Just so I can say I read it.   ;D

It did get good reviews, I remember.  I guess I need to get passed the beginning. I started to read it a couple times.  I don't know what it was that put me off.  I never made it past the first chapter.

And now she has the sequel completed too, I think.

I almost flounced Screamers at one point, so I understand.  But that was before the Pretty joined in the fun.  I swear, RPattz made that story work for me, she wrote him perfectly  :D :D :D

Don't I know it! Out of nowhere my inbox is suddenly flooded. She's been re-working on it for a while. I LOVED True Love Ways, (in the old version there is a chapter where Bella is dancing in the forest to Elton John's Tiny Dancer, made me cry like a baby) and this Edward is to die for, such a cutie. I'll wait for her to complete before re-reading but I'm dying to see what changes she made....or not; Crap! What if she's spoilt it!! :o

That's why I usually read Quiet Storm and Weather the Storm by SexyLexiCullen when I want a mafia-ward fic. The first two of the series are so so so good, the third one ruined it for me but I still love the first two. Some of the lemons are fun as well.  I Definitely recommend those two fics.

As I would like to reread EP, I'm actually going to wait for Sempre 2 to come out in December and then read it in the published version. I hope it will have been edited for SPaGs and figure it should be more trim as well. I'm also hoping that some of the info from the outtakes will have been incorporated where beneficial.

See, now maybe I should read the Storm series and then just Sempre and not EP.

(thinks about ways to change the hero's name to Edward and the heroine to Bella - the rest don't really matter....)  :D :D :D :D

I totally agree with you Crystal.  Loved this mafia series (minus the 3rd).  Have not read another mafia story since.  :'(
