This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

I'm getting ready to hiding behind my sofa once I type this cos it's....bad but, maybe she had a Magic Hands make-over...*runs and hides.

Which was the before and which was the after? Because the camera angles are different and the makeup is different. So I wasn't sure myself. I know the camera (and photoshop) can do amazing things.

I've read a few other fanfics from other fandoms and most have been bad. Now I haven't read much HP. My thought is that if the writers are teens, the fics will probably not be very good. They just don't normally have the life experience to write good fics. The HP stuff that is M rated? I've mostly found it to be slash, which I don't read. Yeah, no. At least not HP slash. I always think of them as kids. Maybe non-fanfiction slash someday.

Now if you like slash, I understand some of the Star Trek stuff is well written. But it is usually slash as well.

You probably have to ask one of the other ladies who read it. But I think, from the little I've read (a OS here and there) they do full intercourse. It may not be totally graphic, but there would be nal involved.

I think you are right, maybe she just lost some weight?

And? I think she has plenty of money for nose jobs if she wants one. I just never thought her nose was that bad.

Every time I look at SM I actually see Bella. Think about it. Brown wavy hair and brown eyes. She looks more like what I picture Bella to look like than SAF does.

Hmmm. Wonder if her husband has bronze hair and green eyes. Or maybe that was the kid she had a crush on in HS

Wow! She did lose a lot of weight. Considering how much trouble I'm having losing weight, I'm impressed.

I think it depends. She said when it was originally leaked, she wasn't going to finish it. But then she said her mom wanted her to finish it. So I guess it depends on whether her mom still wants it

I can only do slash if it's all human.(yes, it usually involves a nal, although some gay men don't like a nal sex, but I love reading about it!)
I stumbled across a OS (I think) where Vampbella found out they all screwed each other all the time, and had Edward and Jasper relieving some tension together, and I didn't care for it at all. I *might* be ok with a vamp story with Bella and Alice both dead, and them turning to each other then.

Actually, that doesn't sound bad at all, anyone know of one like that? It's actually kinda odd, almost ALL of my non-fic reading is m/ romance, but I've barely read any slashfic.

I have finished all I am interested in. Voted. I really wanted to name four, but it only allowed for you to pick three. You also couldn't pick your fav. Although a lot of fics since then, I still gotta say In The Flesh takes them all with a few close 2nds.

I'm reading this story...REALLY!?...do we do that, too? Anyway, the punctuation is not bad, but the spelling, tense and word usage has some real problems. This is one of those "defiantly" instead of "definately" stories, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. The storyline is stretching my suspension of disbelief in some places, but it has some upsides. But I came across the quote below and laughed out loud, so I thought you might enjoy it as well.

The flu was unlikely for the time of the year, so they settled that it was a summer cold. About an hour later the doctor confirmed just that and apparently I had an infection in my lungs also, so he put me on an antibiotic. Basically telling me I had walking phenomena.

Re: The Sports Agent. I started reading this when I was doing Sportsward. But there weren't many chapters and she was too slow at updating. So I never got that far before I forgot I was reading it.

If I remember correctly, Bella got drunk & fell over a lot. It was getting annoying.

With this discussion of pdfs, I was wondering why most of new files posted on here are pdf, it doesn't convert well (or at least not the nicest to epub), and it has previously been mentioned that epub is the smallest file size and I know we worried about server space. To me it seems like epub converts to other formats well, but I may be biased because I use epubs. Do the majority of users use pdfs?

I have only just started using epubs and the only reason is because I listen to fics on my phone using the Voice Dream app. When I first started using it, I noticed that, suddenly, in the middle of a sentence,"she" would blurt out, "minus one hundred and thirty-seven". When I checked, she was reading the page number.

That doesn't seem to happen with epubs.

As for Voice Dream, I still love it, and the extra 2 hours of reading I get done every day. I did find discover another unusual little glitch in it though - last week, "she" was reading a lemon, and all of a sudden, she started going, "millimetres, millimetres, millimetres." Turns out, Bella was saying "mmmmmm" and later, when she laughed, the Voice Dream chick converted "haha" to "hectares, hectares."
