"Take one bowel of each and three pictures of orange juice." She said.

This is from Mafia Love and I can't flounce...I have a problem.
In her summary she says that "critasims"are welcome.....I know, I saw that and continued. My fault.
I'm so glad that even though I can't actually "flounce" a story? I can tell myself I will finish it after I read something else.  By then my memory problems and my ADD have kicked in and I've forgotten what I was reading.   ;D

Of course this only works if the story isn't good.  If the story is good? I have to go back and finish it.  Because I will dream about it until I do.   :P

Mostly, I find my ADD and memory problems (which I'm sure is caused by the ADD not allowing me to concentrate long enough to remember it properly in the first place) to be a pain.  But when it comes to bad fanfic? It is a blessing....  :D :D :D

If I had made as much money as her, from one of my f u c k e d-up dreams? I'm telling you all right now, the Bionic Woman would have nothing on me! To hell with all this panting, sweaty workouts, "Dr Extreme Makeover suck it all out!" THEN I'd get sweaty with the Pretty, after all, what more incentive do you need to lose weight...I'm surprised it took her this long? I'd have been Courtney Coxed by New Moon....

I'm with you on this.  And? Between filming and writing? She probably didn't have time to do anything major until after it was all over.  It can take a couple months to "recover"  if I remember correctly from the shows I watch on Discovery Health on plastic surgery.  And my own surgery.  I couldn't lift anything over 10 pounds for 8 weeks.  Really messed up my work travel.

Not read it, but SPOILER ALERT - this walking phenomena is about to get pregnant!

That's what happens in twific world when the doctor puts you on an antibiotic!  :P

Not only is she on an antibiotic, but shortly thereafter they started having s.e.x again after a long hiatus and, earlier in the story, she touched a stone which, if it glows at your touch, predicts a pregnancy within the next 12 months.  Guess what happened when Bella touched it.  If you can't guess it in one, you're off the island!

I'm so not anti-plastic surgery, especially on the body; the face? That I probably won't do, too scared of looking like this   but liposuction, breast augmentations etc.. If you can afford it, why not?...How many books had SM written by the time Twilight came out? I thought there was only Breaking Dawn left to finish?

Thanks to RDMickey for asking about My Mate (with a pretty teaser quote) and Demaris for answering

I liked it. With a different set of vamp rules that took me a little time to get used to, it had a little of everything (a little smut, a little angst/drama, a little action). It was ultimately a quick read about B/E's mating and romance. Though it took the author a few chapters for the story to start making sense, once it got going the writing was quickly paced and held my interest. The sequel, My Power, is complete, so I'll read that next.

Author: PrincessRachael
Two reluctant vampires find themselves mated, each requiring the other's blood to survive. She will fight it. He will fight for her. In the end, their blood will save them both. Graphic lemons and violence. Rated M.
Rated: Fiction M - English - Bella & Edward - Chapters: 33 - Words: 107,824 - Reviews: 3,394 - Favs: 2,684 - Follows: 2,017 - Updated: 06-28-12 - Published: 02-01-12 - Status: Complete - id: 7795537

I thought I would wait and read My Mate later on in the fall. October maybe since that is Halloween. I usually like to read something AU that time of the year. Thanks for letting me know it has a sequel.

Yes, but she also wrote The Host after that.  And she was really involved in the movies, especially Breaking Dawn.

And doesn't she have 3 kids?

As far as plastic surgery goes, I think you are right.  Though as I'm aging?  A minor facelift is starting to sound like something I might want in 20 years....

I saw this woman, Jocelyn Wildenstein, in the late 1990s, and thought she was doing well at her attempt of looking like a cat. I had no idea how extreme she would continue to go. Talk about the downside of being extremely wealthy.

I think it's great if SMeyer wants to get healthier and lose weight. Plastic surgery (and injections) is a little different. If that's what's she's doing, then it comes across a little hypocritical after preaching about Mormonism. Srsly.

OK, forget about SM and her 'religion hypocrisy' if that is what it is, I don't know the religious tenets of Morons (woopp! I mean Mormons) but why would having plastic surgery be wrong? There are a lot of women who feel really, really unhappy about the way they look, psychologically so, why not fix it if you can? As you said, if you're unhealthy? Its OK to change that, if you're overweight? It's OK to change that, but if you're unattractive then tough, live with it? Nah. That can't be right....

What Mormons say about plastic surgery?

I'm all for plastic surgery. Go for it. As long as you don't end up looking like the above.
If you can feel better about yourself, have means, why not?

If you are not allowed to "change" yourself then why dye your hair? Paint nails, wax etc.
Of course surgery is extreme and those examples are not the same thing. But the result is the same. To feel better about yourself.

I'm not ok with extremes tho.

Lurker and Demaris, I'm mixing you up with your Avis. Lol

I agree. To each his or her own. If it's your body, do what you want with it as long as doesn't effect the rest of us. Embrace it, change it, sell it, poison it with drugs or alcohol...and if the government wants to place a tax on goods or services sold, then fine with me. Sorry, my (US) Libertarian roots are showing.  ^-^

Some of my friends are ex-Mormon, so they may be biased, but they said you're supposed to treat your body as God's temple. Basically leave it as you were born and not add things to it--including adding nicotine, caffeine, excess sugar, alcohol, etc. So if they don't allow soda, they aren't going to embrace plastic surgery or botox.

Does that mean they don't wear make-up or dye their hair? Because I am sure Ms M didn't get those red highlights in hers naturally....Honestly I'm not trying to be facetious what exactly is and isn't allowed, I'm always fascinated at how 'God' seems to change his rules depending on who you ask....

This lawyer I know was telling us about her very Orthodox Jew woman. Long hair, no pants, no eye contact etc.
Anyway during the divorce the laundry gets aired.
It turns out she was very much into this swingers club, with a touch of BDSM. She had this whole other life.

What ARE you hiding? You know?  :D

Just like with any religion, it also depends on the church/temple/etc. you go to and how conservatively they interpret their 'rules'. It's how most of Mormons no longer believe in having multiple wives anymore, but you can still find some sects that do (at least in the US) and use the Book of Mormon to support their cause.

So true. I grew up Catholic, but learned how easily people bend the rules of the Catechism (their 'rule' book) to their own needs behind closed doors. Fish isn't for Fridays anymore, they masturbate and have sex using birth control. Sorry, I seem to be venting about hypocrisy and religion, not sure how...Oh yeah, SMeyer. The Queen Bee. I just don't like preachers who say one thing and then do another. I'll get off my soap box now. I'm sure I do things that I don't even realize are hypocritical myself.

I don't know, perhaps there is something wrong with me but I find that I now skim through smexy scenes in ff.  Frankly there are so many administrations‎, shafts, nubs, o's , crevices and emissions I can read before it sends me into a coma.  This is especially true if their are getting their arse whipped while crawling on the floor with something stuffed up their bottom, licking feet.  I think I am suffering from p**n overload.

I finished Withering the Ferns!   I didn't really know anything about the plot, so was pleased to see an entirely different plot line than I had read before.   Also liked that it was sort of short and to the point!

I've been saying for ever that Grasping Darkness is one of my favourite Vamp fics but honestly the mini sequel, Hungry Light,  is even better. KiyaRaven has grown so much as a writer, I can hardly recognise her as the same author who wrote Screamers, which I've yet to remember to 'return' to  :D. If you haven't read it yet bump it up your TBR list!
