This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

I know no-one else but me will be bothered about this but I've had a good day today and that is all to do with my little Monkey Pants - Saxon turning a year old today.

I can't believe that he's a year old already and he shares his birthday with Edward, which is pretty cool.

I've been reading some good old high school angst the last few days.

I finished You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login by jandco and withthevampsofcourse (wtvoc). It was pretty awesome! The first two or three chapters seemed kind of abrupt, but I really got into it as the story progressed. And I fell in love with Jasper.

Which led me to re-read You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login by Chicklette, the best Bella/Jasper story I've read so far. I'm not really into B/J fics, but this one is really good.

And because I liked JandCo and wtvoc so much, I also readYou are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. Biggest mistake of my life, I cried like a baby for almost half an hour. My brother was staying over and he got really worried.

I highly recommend all three if you are looking for some angsty fics.

I have now moved on to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login by FoxxyJ. I remember flagging this one ages ago, but for some reason it got lost somewhere between all these fics. I like the slight supernatural element, so far so good.

I didn't like Scothc, Gin and the New Girl, to me it just seemed too much with teenagers carrying hundred of dollars just because they could... I don't remember anything else , but I didn't like it.

Hm, thanks for the warning. I will keep reading it because I love the whole idea, I guess it depends on how that particular scene is written. I will get back to you when I reach that part

That's why I say I will never read them, but I was downloading a page at a time since it is so easy. Mostly, though, I have all the good ones I really want. But sometimes I'm afraid I'm missing one that isn't so popular.

I think I've read only a handful of good T fics as well. And most of those were OS's.

I'm not a fan of ANY story that has the characters acting majorly OOC. If you are writing Twific, using Twi characters, why make them so very different that the only thing they share in common is name and hair/eye color?

So no, I don't care for overly promiscuous Bella, or too wild and crazy Bella, unless I'm given reasons for why she got that way.

To me, fanfic is putting beloved characters in new and different situations, and maybe modifying them a little bit, but making them so completely different just takes away from why I read fic in the first place, which is more stories about THESE characters.

I wouldn't say I like reading about that... But I love a HEA that can bring them together after all that. There's a two shot that I lovewhere Edward is an escort and Bella is a mom .
