This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement. 

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

I'm not a fan of ANY story that has the characters acting majorly OOC. If you are writing Twific, using Twi characters, why make them so very different that the only thing they share in common is name and hair/eye color?

So no, I don't care for overly promiscuous Bella, or too wild and crazy Bella, unless I'm given reasons for why she got that way.

To me, fanfic is putting beloved characters in new and different situations, and maybe modifying them a little bit, but making them so completely different just takes away from why I read fic in the first place, which is more stories about THESE characters.

Wow! Really?  I love it when the author takes B/E to totally different places! I love AH stories, in this time or in the past. Give me Amishward, Tattward, Domward any day and I'll be pleased. 

Well, as long as B/E end up together and live, I'm happy.

I can't cook, so the hubby does it all and he made some real lush white chocolate cup cakes and cookies which kind of went "missing" before any of our families came around to see Saxon. 

It is always good to share when you are having a good day.  We all need more of those.

And someone to clean our houses so we can spend more time reading

I will so be like that!! He'll probably be like "Edward, who?" though as my hubby won't let me watch any of the Twilight films when he's around. I suppose I could start reading them to Saxon instead. 

So I'm downloading all these ExB stories and I realize I don't really want half of them.  They are crappy T rated things that are going to be badly written and are not worth reading.  I mean there are SPaG errors in the summaries.   

But stopping now is hard.  Auuugghhh!!!!! 


Who really wants to read these stories long enough to report them.  Okay, maybe I should change the rating to M.  Sigh.  Why did I start? ? ? ? ? ?

But what if I miss something really good?

I've only read a few T rated fics and that was by mistake - I didn't realise until I was like half way through and thought "There's been no sex yet!"  or the SPaG is awful and it makes it difficult to read sometimes.

On my way to work today a small black truck goes past with the following on the side:  Harder Bros Ltd, Harder Sausage Casings, and underneath, Better Skins For Your Sausages.  So I was wondering, have the vamps gone into the condom business??   

Then a short while later I see this car registration: R06 PTZ, and I'm wondering Rob Fan? 

Must be because of the day.  Happy Edward's birthday all you Wardaholics and Happy First Birthday to Loopy's Saxon.   

Sounds like you had a bit of a strange day, but I think I would've gone and asked if the sausages were just a front for that condom idea.

I can't understand why it has so many reviews, I mean it's not bad but it's not good either and I don't think people out there want to read 40 chapter of the same thing. Because I'm not kidding people it happens in every chapter, I usually like an insecure shy Edward, but this Edward is over the top. 

Hahaha, I just posted on how much I actually liked this fic. Though I will agree, looking back on it, Edward is insecure and they have that argument....frequently. It just didn't stick out as the main theme for me...probably because I was so in love with the 90s aspect of it...that made it different for me and maybe that's why I didn't may as much attention to the annoying insecurities. Well, that and this was the first canon and human fic ive read since last summer

I loved the high school fics mentioned....they are some  of my fave. I flounced Stolen secrets for the same reason mentioned....well, that and because it got really boring to me.

Secondly, DAMN, GIRL! You're married to a personal trainer (killer bod), who cooks and bakes (culinary skills), pleasures you with hot and kinky s e x whenever the mood strikes (the holy grail) and loves your small boobs (i know what you feel) and big feet??!! You hit the jackpot!!!! are there any others like him we can send over to Australia? I have a friend,  a hot principal with big boobs and an even bigger heart, who could use a man like that!  Let us know!!

I finished this last night and for some reason, after 100 pages, I still couldn't get into it My OCD wouldn't let me flounce it so I really flew by some of the pages and jumped to the last few chapters to finish it. It was just....so so... the writing was not bad, hard for me to explain. I couldn't connect somehow to the characters, no twinges in my heart. You know what I mean?

I would rather recommend you read Fighting Temptations (a HS athleteward). Not a great fic, just ok too, but it elicited more feelings from me.
