This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Oh no! I've never visited this thread, I don't think I'd survive over there; I can't flounce so I'd click on a flounced link (just out of curiosity) and then get stuck reading crap! And I just read that exchange between Ella and the translator...Wow! Sorry, but she sounded a bit cray cray ( or it could be the translation

)...Is there a way to locking the thread so that doesn't happen? You have to email for access or something (we did that before remember?) so it's just us sisterwives?

I knew it! This was the kinda stuff which made it a much 'weaker' story than TOH...which had very few fic stereotypes if I recall?

I can just imagine, which is why I will not be visiting...too chicken

EDIT: OK I couldn't help myself I went over to flounced fics thread and had a li' read....

I cannot stop laughing!! LL you're right, it's a train wreck! But at least they aren't flaming writers on FF which is the point...

too funny, I'm giggling just thinking about it. here's 2 examples:

Out of her Head by 1Blue25. So to be fair, this is actually pretty well written.. until I got to chapter 17 and the lemon. This Edward has the WORST dirty talk ever. What woman wants to be told that her boobs wiggle? I just started laughing and couldn't read the rest. There's more lemons in the next couple of chapters and I cannot read that again!

What about when authors flounce US??? Great stories, great writing, regular updates, then. POOF! . They never update again. The flounCERs become the flounCEEs.

The crazy thing is that there are stories mentioned which I have read and agree are totally crap but I still didn't flounce!

Oh... THANK YOU! Hmmmm, men in uniform... just like my father and brother... uh, oh I might get in trouble and end up in a Greek play... I'll need to be careful with this new information or at least wait for Fleet Week in New York.

You might be waiting a long time. Fleet Week was cancelled this year due to budget cuts. . . Who knows if it will happen in 2014.

I think you are missing the importance of an Aussie meat pie!

It's not a pivotal part of the fic, but it is a pivotal part of Australian culture. I don't understand how the rest of the world survives without meat pies.

When it's a cold winter morning and you're watching a game of rugby...

When you hungry and need something quick and on-the-go...

When it's 2am and you've been out on the drink and you're staggering home...

Oh my God! They're hot and rich and delicious!

A pie is the next best thing to taking Robert Pattinson home!

I don't know, ask FFG if there is anything we can do...But honestly if you see a thread called 'flounced fics' and you're a writer you might think twice before paying it a visit, no? Or put your Big Girl pants on, one of the two....But you sure as hell can't have a go at the participants that are on there, shoot, we readers deserve a safe haven for our opinions too!

I stay away - my inability to flounce means that I would be adding any complete fic to my TBR. Actually, I have noticed on the few times I have ventured over that a lot of the fics being discussed are already on my TBR which currently sits at 5555 fics and 1593 real books and 139 completed fics that are waiting for me to flag!

What was the fic that she was so referring to?

Shoot! Just smudged my pedicure...Sorry I know my over sharing isn't as exciting as getting caught in compromising positions by ones kids but what can you do *shrug* no kids and no kids maker..

Did anyone see the smackdown that occurred over on ADF earlier this week? It started with a post in The Daily Chew about Miley's VMA performance and then turned into a huge debate about judging. There were lots of definitions (almost Clinton-esque) about definitions about judging and then everyone got judgy about being judgy and ...

Anyway, I only mention it because some of the argument seemed to also be based in "lost in translation" excuses.

Maybe you can also blame the language barrier!

I think you think you know about pies - but really, and Aussie meat pie is different to an English pie. For starters, we NEVER eat pies with a knife and fork - they are hand-held food and are sold everywhere. Bakery, petrol station, even pie vans on the side of the road.

Why am I up? It's now 10:30am. Sun has been up since 6am. I've had a hair cut, gotten my car washed and done all my laundry for the week. It's currently drying on the line and given how warm it is for the last official day of Winter, it will be ready to be folding in about an hour. I've done a work out and now I'm catching up on all the twitter and PTS news and then will be doing some fic beta work.

The early bird catches the worm - I'll hit a wall at about 2pm and will need a nanna nap after staying up so late last night!
