Or put your Big Girl pants on, one of the two....But you sure as hell can't have a go at the participants that are on there, shoot, we readers deserve a safe haven for our opinions too!  Cray cray I tell ya!

Yeah.  Someone stated they didn't like anything by her.  Only most of her stories are just translations of other people's stories.  But still she took offense.  Yeah.  I told her if one person doesn't like your writing, it was just a taste thing.  Really shouldn't look if you are an author....

But that was the purpose for it.  We really don't want to discourage writers, but sometimes? you really, really have to say something.

I think you think you know about pies - but really, and Aussie meat pie is different to an English pie. For starters, we NEVER eat pies with a knife and fork - they are hand-held food and are sold everywhere. Bakery, petrol station, even pie vans on the side of the road.

Why am I up? It's now 10:30am. Sun has been up since 6am. I've had a hair cut, gotten my car washed and done all my laundry for the week. It's currently drying on the line and given how warm it is for the last official day of Winter, it will be ready to be folding in about an hour. I've done a work out and now I'm catching up on all the twitter and PTS news and then will be doing some fic beta work.

The early bird catches the worm - I'll hit a wall at about 2pm and will need a nanna nap after staying up so late last night!

Did anyone see the smackdown that occurred over on ADF earlier this week? It started with a post in The Daily Chew about Miley's VMA performance and then turned into a huge debate about judging. There were lots of definitions (almost Clinton-esque) about definitions about judging and then everyone got judgy about being judgy and ...



Anyway, I only mention it because some of the argument seemed to also be based in "lost in translation" excuses.

ADF scares me, I try and not go over there; them and their 'campfires'...sounds more like Macbeth's witches cauldron to me 

I like it here.  We get to give our opinions and everyone is grown up about it.  And we all agree Rob p0rn is good.  So what else is important in life. Really...

There is a huge difference between constructive criticism and flaming. I try not to say "I really hated that fic", and if I really do dislike a fic, I try (in my incoherent rambly way) to explain what I didn't like.

I try not to be judgy - but heck, sometimes you can't help it.  I think Miley is rebelling against her early years. Trying to get away from the Disney Kid thing.  She just is going a little overboard with it.  Pink wears similar stuff on stage and no one says anything.  Except maybe "wow, she has a great body"  Whatever.  You can't please everyone.

Pink is touring here at the moment - us Aussies love her. All of my teachers have gone to see her in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne over the last few months. I'm saving for my US trip next year, so no Pink for me.

My biggest issue with Miley was the tongue. She does seem to just be acting out and trying to be sexual, but that tongue thing is just  She even had it hanging out on the red carpet:



Is she thirsty? Is she overheated?

Well, I did say something similar about Tufano79.  Her stories sound so good, but the writing is just so bad with SPaG errors and juvenile conversations.  I really want to like them, but so far, I've flounced everyone I've started. 

Miley always did the tongue thing, if I remember correctly.  Even when she was Hannah Montana.  But it is a little worse now, I think.  Maybe it's just too big for her mouth?  Kind of like Gene Simmons? 

Pink is actually really good.  I've seen her on shows and she is really amazing singing while on those lift things, flying through the air.  And I like her music.

Exactly! I just had a quick look at a CF and they were arguing about whether Rob is taking the dior campaign seriously.

Comments like:
You are always sensitive to what you call "Rob hate" -- God knows you've called me out on it before.

As for calling people out- I do it when I feel I'm being personally insulted- so If I felt you insulted me- yeah I'll let you know. And I'm not going to go back + forth of what tyou meant vs what I read- perception is reality on the internet.

Believe me, I have no intention of explaining what I meant any further. It was crystal clear the first time.

Let me tell you a sad tale about why I think I love this fic as much as I do.



I had an Aussie-ward very much like this one - the difference was that he had a beef cattle property, not a vineyard.

The school was tiny and the people in the township were very small minded. Those out on properties were great, but the townies were just dreadful. When I was offered a promotion, I had to make a decision about my future. He wouldn't leave his family property, and I couldn't stay working in such a dead-end job. We gave the long distance thing a go, but it was just too hard.

Anyway, 5 years later and I guess I haven't really moved on - Terroir reminded me about how much I loved a man like this.
