This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Their relationship is a hot mess all the way through.

And you're right on with the hot/cold routine from Bella and Jasper's mommy issues are f*cking everything up on his end. And the angst? Repetitive for sure lol.

The crazy angst is what made me this fic

I don't mind a hot mess, and I like angst (within reason), but I need to like the characters, and these just aren't very likable. I want to choke Alice with her fancy clothes!

Hiya Astro! I know, it's been too long since I've posted....I got sucked into the summer vacation vortex with my kiddos and then their sports and school started back up. And it seems that when I get far behind I get all overwhelmed when I try to catch up lol

And Aussie-ward - *le sigh*

I love me a rural Aussie man. I wish I could find one that was single and lived close by!

Let me tell you a sad tale about why I think I love this fic as much as I do.

I had an Aussie-ward very much like this one - the difference was that he had a beef cattle property, not a vineyard.

The school was tiny and the people in the township were very small minded. Those out on properties were great, but the townies were just dreadful. When I was offered a promotion, I had to make a decision about my future. He wouldn't leave his family property, and I couldn't stay working in such a dead-end job. We gave the long distance thing a go, but it was just too hard.

Anyway, 5 years later and I guess I haven't really moved on - Terroir reminded me about how much I loved a man like this.

So I didn't end up going to bed, I thought if I leave Terroir for a few hours to sleep it'll be harder to get back into it tomorrow...so I finished it. And now that I've read your post I feel all weepy-eyed! So romantic...

I'm gonna have to do that because otherwise it's a nasty little cycle of getting behind, not enough time to fully catch up and reply and then get even further behind. Sigh.

I'm in a fic slump

i started to re-read a Bella/Demetri story last night but am over halfway through it so I don't know what I'll end up with next...the few others I've started just can't hold my interest...it's very frustrating

Has anyone watched Orange Is The New Black? I binge watched all the episodes last week and dayum, is it well done IMO

This is why I want to introduce you to a rare breed, a male FF author BetterinTexas, who deals only in Twi non Canon (for those of you who are allergic to blonds, he writes alot of Garrick). He often writes funny, feisty, tough Bella’s, who will kick a*se first and ask questions later. Just my kind of heroine. I have finished! What can I say?....It's rated M but I think that was the authors wishful thinking. As much as I'm weary of excessive lemons this story really needed one or two, its all F2B which considering Edward has been in prison for 12 years some 12 year pent-up lemons would have made this story all the better. There are some touching moments in the letter exchanges between Bella and Edward and, regardless of my laughing outburst initially (I think I was in a odd place yesterday), this ploy does move the story along nicely. Alice( unfortuately hyper) and the usual suspects turn up but not in the usual set-up. All in all it's not a 'bad' story it's just a bit *shrug* blah....If you want Prisonward read Pound of Flesh much better example of that genre.

EDIT: I forgot; while away I did get a chance to read some fics and I wanted to rec Behind Enemy Lines I gave this 3* it might actually be 3.5* I enjoyed this confident rather different Bella and their (Edward/Bella) different set of circumstances, this is not a setting I've come across in twific before...

International aid worker Bella Swan enters a war zone to find the man she’s loved for the last 10 years. It’s a race against time to save Edward Cullen from the depths of an appalling humanitarian crisis and get him out from behind enemy lines.

I have tried to read several of his fics....I just can't do it. I'm probably the only one who feels that way but I'm just not a fan of his style. Which stinks because he's strictly non canon and his plots sound so good.
