This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Yes, she wanted something where Edward was the abused/victim rather than Bella. I guess Friday's at Noon would also work.

See I do read some angsty stuff. It just has to be really good.....

CaraNo has a lot of good stories. And her norm is an HEA with E/B. Which is why I normally like her stuff. She does humor best, but I did like River, which was a little on the "angsty" side.

Wasn't River the one where she was w Jasper and Edward was the roomie with hot geek glasses who loved comics? If so, I read that one....one of the few of her's that I read and I really liked it

Has CaraNo ever written Slash before because if not she has started. I personally can't read slash..I can read Subward with Bella being a Dom armed with phallic toys but that's about it.

Yeah, I know some of you ladies will love him. He is on Sons of Anarchy. But I still see RPattz....

My brother has an uncanny resemblance to Charlie Hunnam, especially when he is looking a little scruffy and bearded up. He doesn't quite have the physique, but very much in the face - I have actually seen pictures of CH and thought it was my brother!

Except my brother has curly hair - really sweet, Shirley Temple ringlets if he grows them long enough!

It's a bit squicky to watch SoA because of that - I really have to get into a certain frame of mind, or it gets disturbing - hillbilly disturbing!

It's bad enough that my brother is also named Robert!

Now, as for the Pretty - I would have watched him in this role and I think he could have made a movie that brought in a lot of money, but I'm glad for his integrity and professionalism that he said no. He wants to distance himself from Twilight - for whatever reasons, but possibly because he justs wants to be taken seriously as an adult now (and we all know how that transition works out for most actors - although, I'd even watch Rob twerking!!!) and FSoG would not have given him the distance.

Yes I saw on her blog that she has a slash story on Amazon. I might dip my little toe in the water with Our Master's Love, maybe.....

Oh! So, I've read the Dusty Futuretake from MaryElizabeth......yeah, I'm not sure what to tell ya, I'll have to live with it for a few days...

I can't get my head round it, and before anyone asks about HEA or not, the answer is I don't know...There is a Futuretake part two still to come...

And before fanfic, I never thought I'd read slash or menage! So long as it has a good story - and some of them really are just beautiful! - I quite like it.

She was with Jasper, but he was kind of a jerk. Well, he wasn't as into her as she wanted. Edward moved in and they were attracted but she put him off because she was with Jasper. I don't think he was too geeky, though they did name the potbellied pig Captain America.

I think he was interested for a minute. But he did Bel Ami that was mostly sex. Depending on how they do this? It is one step above a p0rno.

It would not have been good for him at this point, I don't think. It's just not that good of a movie story, if that makes sense. $:-\$

For those talking about Cara Dee's Aftermath, I read it, and it was really good. I didn't even realize who it was when I read it, I found out a week or so later. I forgot that Cara Dee was her real books name.

It is very angsty, about two men who were both kidnapped and held hostage by a crazy man for six months, along with a bunch of other men. This is the story of what comes after they escape, how they adapt to life in the real world again, along with what happened to them in those cages, and man, it was horrible.

I read an article on E! About how Robert Pattinson was E.L James first choice for fifty shades... Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember a couple of moths back I read somewhere that she would never want him to do the part that he was nothing like she pictured.... Maybe not those words but something along those lines. Maybe I dreamt it.

But I do remember that and now apparently wanted him all along.

I love, love, love River! Forever! Such a great fic with the exact amount of angst for me.
I tried to start You Live Only Once yesterday, but I'm still a little oversaturated with CaraNo's writing. I like her style, but after a while it simply gets too much for me.

And at some point last year I decided to stay away from WIPs. My WIP-list contained about 30 fics and I couldn't keep up with the updates anymore with RL getting much more busy more or less over night. So I quit most of them and at the moment I'm only reading completed stuff and plan to continue like that.
But at least, CaraNo is very solid and finishes her WIPs. Except for Fall & Rise.

I'd love to see that finished!

I am a very lucky girl this week fic-wise. At first Dear Bella - fantastic! Yesterday I finished Puddle Jumping - excellent! It left me crying and my heart clenched a lot, but oh it hurt sooooo good! What a great story and great writing! It was like Matron said: these 2 fics brought back my original Twilight feeling and even more than that!

I didn't have access to you ladies here yesterday so I had to choose something from my endless TBR-list by myself. It wasn't easy! But I stumbled upon The Other Side Of The Fence and decided to give it a try. And it's sooooo great so far! Another "bring back the manyfold Twilight feeling fic"! YAY!

I can't put it down, but work calls. So I have to leave Fenceward and Chefgirl for the morning.

As for FSOG: I started reading MOTU when it was still a WIP and liked it. But it was also one of my very first fics and I was utterly fascinated with all things Twilight and fanfic then and still tried to grasp the concept.
After reading so many fanfic masterpieces, I'd certainly have another point of view if I read it now for the first time. I think of it as a fanfic classic, because it's so well known in the fandom, but I don't think of it as a masterpiece like Wide Awake or EP or Fridays at Noon, The Dick and so on. Imho so many other fics are far better written and have a far better plot.

I pictured Rob as Edward at the time, because I always picture him. He's etched in my mind as Edward. But I didn't picture him as Christian (I only read the first published book). And I don't picture him as the actor to represent Christian.
I think he could do it as in: he has the ability to act as Christian Grey, but I don't think it would be good for his career.

I didn't like Fall and Rise..... One thing being that she gave Edward like 500,000 car or something like that and they are teenagers, this is going back to what I said earlier.
