This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

I read an article on E! About how Robert Pattinson was E.L James first choice for fifty shades... Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember a couple of moths back I read somewhere that she would never want him to do the part that he was nothing like she pictured.... Maybe not those words but something along those lines.   Maybe I dreamt it.

But I do remember that and now apparently wanted him all along.

I would add the link but I'm too lazy to turn my laptop on. 

Rumors have been flying thick and fast about casting for FSoG since there was talk that it would be made into a movie.

I remember him saying he was never interested - although he did admit that he had read part of MOTU - and I think even then he knew it was a Twilight "spin-off" and wanted to keep his distance.

Thank you for all the posts and Pm's about my brother - it really means a lot to me.
This is one of the reasons why I love PTS and it is my "Happy Place!" 
I managed to skim through the 30  pages I had to catch up.
I'm not Queen of the Over-share for nothing as I'm grateful it's only been me and Saxon in the house for the last hour and Saxon has been busy with the goats in his mobile walker as I've definitely had at least 1 "O" looking at the latest Dior pics.

Was MoU written before or after Rob was cast in the role for Twilight?  I think that would be the real answer.  If she was picturing Rob when she wrote MoU than I think the answer would be obvious.  She was picturing someone when she wrote it.

But, since she got nasty with it being a Twific, I would imagine that she would say that she never wanted him as Christian (especially if Rob said he wouldn't do it). 

She wrote the fic after twilight came out (the movie) and tell me somebody who writes twilight fan fiction not picturing Rob as Edward?  I've seen some fics  where Bella is someone else..... Like Emma Stone but I have never seen one that Edward was Not RP!

I call BS on her saying she did not picture Rob for the role. 

And I'm glad said no to the role ... It obviously was offered to him. In a way we would see him do naughty things we only dream about but in a way he would be ruined for me the same way Ryan Gosling would of been ruined.  (Does that make sense?)

 
Of course she would say she doesn't want him when he says he doesn't want the role.

I read Twilight before I saw the film and have always had a different Edward in my mind... much redder hair, eyes that became much greener once I read fanfic. Not based on any real actor I've ever seen. But I don't write fanfic, just read it so maybe that's a big difference.

Five Times They Never Met completed!

This is such a good question and it's interesting that we all read the same FFs, most have a crush on The Pretty but nearly everyone has a different picture in their head of what Edward looks like. This is why I don't like my favourite books made into films, the actors cast are never 'right' because the image in my mind is always a composite of different people. Edward for me is a fair amount of Rob, a bit of Brad (depending how old he's meant to be in the fic), mix in some James Dean, James Franco, Adrian Grenier, Heath Ledger and Ryan Gosling and your kinda close. I can, hand of heart, say though that Bella is not Kstew, ever...not sure who she if I'm honest....

Me too, and whatsher name as Alice. (although I picture Jackon's face, I do put better hair on him, lmao!) And I did read the books before watching the movie, they were just starting with casting when I read the first 3 books. I think Kstew (at the beginning, not really now) had the LOOK of Bella, I just can't stand her acting. The lipbiting, mumbling, staring down, pushing her hair behind her ears thing kinda fit for the first movie, but not so much after that, or in any of her other movies, where she does the same darn thing.

I don't picture Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Nikki Reed as Rosalie or Kellen as Emmet either.  I find it hard to believe they couldn't find real blonds for Carlisle and Rose, and Nikki just isn't nearly as beautiful as Rose was always described. Kellen is hot as hell, but I don't think he's big enough for "bearlike" Emmett.

I also love Anna Kendrick, and hate that she was saddled with Jessica Stanley! Hell, she probably would have done better with Bella.
