This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

I Flove TheFicChick, she is, I think, one of the best Fanfic authors writing at the moment! I flove this story so, so good; just wanted it to continue!

I'm kind of horrified at the moment. I just encountered my first unexpected rape of Bella. It came out of nowhere! I've read some of the author's other stories and never encountered this... I've read stories where there was sexual assault or memories of abuse, but never this. I always thought I wasn't squeamish. Now I'm not so sure I can handle The Perfect Wife (although in that case I know what to expect), which is still on my TBR. I think I'll need to take a break with some fluff after this.

What was the story called? The Perfect Wife is no walk in the park, I have to warn you....

....and on the theme of unexpected twists. I've just read my first Jasper/Edward without knowing. And, F**king Hell, by default my first slash lemon, sure it wasn't very long or graphically detailed but still, I'm mightily pissed! I thought the narrator was Bella, 3/4 through the story I thought. "Errr? Wait. What? Hold on. What? No!No!No! I don't read slash!! I have not made the decision to start reading slash! This is a violation of my reading rights!" And to top it all off its from...I feel so betrayed, I've just finished singing her praises...It's from TheFicChick! Judas Iscariot!! Can someone tell me why she didn't put Jasper/Edward in the summary? She wanted to catch non-slash readers with their pants down,(

)That's the only explanation I can think of for that obvious omission

Is it angst? Yes, plenty angst, even for an angsthoor like myself, tears were developing until the shock dried them up! Is it well written? Yes, as per usual *coughbitchcough* If slash is your thing then have it!

Me too, and whatsher name as Alice. (although I picture Jackon's face, I do put better hair on him, lmao!) And I did read the books before watching the movie, they were just starting with casting when I read the first 3 books. I think Kstew (at the beginning, not really now) had the LOOK of Bella, I just can't stand her acting. The lipbiting, mumbling, staring down, pushing her hair behind her ears thing kinda fit for the first movie, but not so much after that, or in any of her other movies, where she does the same darn thing.

I don't picture Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Nikki Reed as Rosalie or Kellen as Emmet either. I find it hard to believe they couldn't find real blonds for Carlisle and Rose, and Nikki just isn't nearly as beautiful as Rose was always described. Kellen is hot as hell, but I don't think he's big enough for "bearlike" Emmett.

I also love Anna Kendrick, and hate that she was saddled with Jessica Stanley! Hell, she probably would have done better with Bella.

Shite! Yeah, I forgot about that! ooohhh yeah, that's a big deal in the story,all sorts of wide reaching consequences..Still the story is so good. If I'm honest I don't think I need things like that flagged for me, I like the unexpected; as long as it's in the context of my pairing choice...

I don't mind non-HEA, kinda love it actually, I'm getting rather bored of rainbows and roses at the end of every story...

I finished and did think the story was really good, though not my favorite of all her stories (and not for that reason). I don't think it was as well plotted as the other 4 stories I read by her, which I really loved. I'm glad I wasn't forewarned. Looking back, I can see how integral it was to the plot and how it provided the opportunity for Bella's growth. (And I agree with lucylu that Edward isn't as well developed in this story, especially compared to her other fics.) All that said, it was a really good story.

Yep, Edward and Mike. It was all about "he dragged me into the closet at school" and what he did to me, and it wasn't until the very end you realize it's Mike. Actually, if I remember right, there were some people who never even figured out it was Mike.

Damn, I can't remember WHAT it was called.
