  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #4 - We are crazy talkers here!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I haven't tried those, if it doesn't get better in a few weeks, then I'll have to figure where to get one in Austria.

We are planning on telling people soon, so at least I will now have a reason for why I don't feel good.  (Yes I told the book club I lurk in before I told people in real life)

Congratulations!  :-*

I had a lot of problems during my pregnancies, but extreme "morning" sickness thankfully wasn't one of them.
However, don't stop eating! Find something that feels good to you, anything and eat constantly. And when you really are unable to keep anything down, consider drinking protein shakes or something like slim fast. At least you'll get the nutrients, if not the calories.

I'm SO lost on this. Nothing is working to restore this and I'm just at a loss. I DID get it all backed up to flash and tried to manually add to the (now empty) library and they added but everything custom is gone. And, I have to add each author file separately. All 1700 of them.

And I have a Windows 8 touch computer....anyone have one and have an issue with Chrome and the touchpad gestures making the screen go from regular to full screen by swiping down from the top? I had this issue in the beginning, couldn't disable it so I installed and started using Firefox. Then Firefox started constantly flagging PTS as malicious so I went back to Chrome...didn't have the issue at first but now it's doing it again. So every 30 secs my screen goes into full screen mode because I accidentally swiped down.
Okay, here are the instructions for what worked for me.  Don't mess with your basic library that you moved. I recommend you work from the desktop rather than an app.  The apps tend to run differently than the desktop programs.

Open Calibre  - if it's blank it is blank
Click on the Calibre library icon on the menu bar
Switch/create library…
Click on browse button next to “New Library”
Go to where the library folder is – i.e. in Dropbox
Select the main folder – the one above the book folders
Select the option “use previously existing library at the new location
Click okay

The whole library should appear with all the columns.

I actually copied mine to an external drive and left it there.  So Calibre is reading it from my external drive.

Let me know how that works.   ;)

So the "Cow" as in cashcow is Robsten?

And she is still hoping they will get back together?  After she cheated? Didn't we just have this discussion about forgiving after cheating?

Because I don't think he ever really forgave her.  He just made nice until all the Twilight stuff was over.

I couldn't force myself to read all of it, but a fan of the actress wrote this?  A fan is pretty much comparing her to a cow? Okaaaaay :o

This is why it's crazy, who can tell what this 'person' is trying to say. But I think the non-fans/press are the vultures and whatever...they are trying to bring the 'cow' down, but the 'cow' has such a nice 'spirit' she can't be kept down...or maybe The Pretty is the vulture? *shrug* cray cray...

First, thank you so much for helping me out with this, you're awesome  :-*

I've been doing what you suggested once you mentioned that yesterday (pre-existing library) but it doesn't work. I click on the browse, choose the folder (so doc-->my docs--> calibre library) and hit ok and it's like it refreshes but absolutely nothing is importing. And then when I go back and repeat the step? It's showing the 'current' location for the (blank) library is the old spot. It's like it's not recognizing anything I'm doing.

I don't know. I'm about to back up my Published Library, uninstall Calibre and start over. Any other thoughts? I just cannot figure out what is going wrong

I mean, surely there are better options they could have used to refer to her? Especially coming from a 'fan'?

I think the Pretty has been very gentlemanly about the whole thing.  He came back, did the PR stuff, didn't show any dislike towards the um cow, and never said anything about her cheating on him.

But there are a lot of Kristen haters out there.  Me? Once she was no longer involved with the Pretty she disappeared off my radar.

Can you move it out of Dropbox?  I'm wondering if the problem is the fact you moved it there.  Maybe if you put it back in the old location and then move the library while in Calibre.  There is an option to move the library to a new location.  I have done this a few times without a problem.  But I've always done it while in Calibre.  So it knows where to look.

Tell me if that works.  If not, then I can load dropbox on my other computer and play with it.

LOL! I think she was referring to the term "CashCow" which is something that brings in more money to those who own the "product".  So Robsten may have been a CashCow for Summit or the Twilight Franchise, since they bring in good PR for the movies and DVDs.

Otherwise, I can't see why they would use the term cow when they appear to be a fan...   ???

Thanks for the suggestions, my first midwife moved away so I have to call a new one tomorrow, and I'll see what she says.  If any food was pleasant sounding that would be nice.  Too bad we don't live in the US near Jamba Juice, that sounds really nice right now.

Thanks for letting me know,  it was on my tbr list.

Hello ladies so glad to be back.  Kids finally in school, soccer started up for my daughter now also so it now gets crazier than before.

Both kids love school, we will see how much my son likes it once it gets started in full swing.  He just entered Middle School (6th Grade) and it is only the 1st full day back.  On a brighter note,  My son got a letter in the mail about going to Australia the summer of 2014 for a Student ambassador program for 2 weeks.  He wants to go sooo bad but it is not going to happen.  I am just not comfortable with sending a 10 year old out of the country with out me.

Read a couple of Fics this past week,

In Pursuit - I enjoyed it.

This is who I am -  loved it

When you least expect it - enjoyed it

The Cullen Legacy - FLOVED IT

No Ordinary Proposal - Still undecided.

Other that i can't remember now since my kindle is at home

Hope everyone is doing good,

Loopy - Sorry for your Loss

 :welcome: To our newest members.

Bluegeek - CONGRATS

You can make you own Jamba Juice you just need the right ingredients. We don't have any by me but they do sell them frozen in the grocery store. Maybe you can find that online and order some.
