This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Ummmm.... *raises hand timidly* I read every entry on this thread and on # 3 when I started to lurk here. I wanted to know what I'm getting into before leaving my safe lurker position.

First, good for you. But based on some of the posts we get, I'd say you're one of a few exceptions.

We forgot it on the table in the living room after "playing" once. Our friend who came by and saw it lying there was intimidated too!

I think I'll use it as a weapon. For hubs and me it works as threat nowadays. "Behave or I'll get the big red thing!"

That is one of the funniest things I've ever read! What a great way to start off this Friday the 13th! You ladies are a really bad influence... I'll change it temporarily because this is seriously cracking me up, but I can't bring myself to use that whole term. LOL I still can't believe I picked that username. I was laughing about it yesterday while reading on my phone and my friend asked what I was laughing at and I couldn't dare tell her... Can you imagine? "Well, I have this book club... and I made up this username... and it means "SF" (then I'd have to explain in depth) and the girls called me out on it and we laughed and laughed"... then she would be like "What kind of book club are you a member of where its ok to talk about "SF"" (with big shocked eyes like these )

I was just thinking... maybe if one of the mods could erase all the posts that quote that username I'll leave it "shifel" forever just for us all to have daily shnuggets & giggles. Then only those of us "in the know" would know what it means and nobody would be mistakenly thinking I was sick and twisted. Did I mention I am a prude in real life?

I'm starting to feel like a fanfiction writer... I keep starting new stories but never finish any of them....

It is getting a little frustrating. Though, for the record, the latest one I had actually read the whole thing before. I just couldn't remember. Well, now I'm remembering and well, not sure it was worth a reread.

And none of these stories are bad. In fact a few of them are loved by all. Sigh. I hate when I'm like this....

I've been so exhausted this week (still battling some health issues, and a record breaking heat-wave here) so that when I get into bed, I'm not even making it through half a chapter before my e-reader kisses me goodnight - usually on the nose, sometimes on the forehead, it went for the lips the other night and that actually hurt!

I started Mystery Man (Kristen Ashley) and it took three nights to get through Chapter 1! After FFG's post, I had to change to Rock Chick and while I didn't actually get through all of Chapter 1 last night (even though I was in bed at 8:30pm!), I'm hoping that I'll be able to make a dent in it tonight.

I've finished reading Creed and Raid by Kristen Ashley and decided to re-read Rock Chick. I've been laughing out loud at a few things and decided I needed to share this quote with my book club. Background, the female protaganist (Indy) is applying mascara:

"I opened my mouth as far as it would go, which was a feminine mechanism that one had to use to open one's eyes as far as they would go."

Anyone who has ever applied mascara knows exactly what she's talking about.

And also when putting in contact lenses. I make sure I never put my lenses in, in front of someone else, when I realised how obscene it looks!

Yeah, faster, bigger, better! Err...no...not the latter. But it's a very powerful tool!

I can't believe they think it's hard to navigate this site. Especially with the list on the home page having a list that says Fanfict Alley! I never have figured out how to navigate around in ADF's campfires. Course, once I found PTS, I quit trying.

As a person with an over active imagination, thinking of anything lurking in the ceiling (even if it's the pretty) is kinda creepy.

A friend just sent this to me, I thought I would share.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY - (a husband's point of view)

The missus bought a Paperback,
down Shepton Mallet way,
I had a look inside her bag;
... T'was "Fifty Shades of Grey".

Well I just left her to it,
And at ten I went to bed.
An hour later she appeared;
The sight filled me with dread...

In her left she held a rope;
And in her right a whip!
She threw them down upon the floor,

Well fifty years or so ago;
I might have had a peek;
But Mabel hasn't weathered well;
She's eighty four next week!!

Watching Mabel bump and grind;
Could not have been much grimmer.
And things then went from bad to worse;
She toppled off her Zimmer!

She struggled back upon her feet;
A couple minutes later;
She put her teeth back in and said

Now if you knew our Mabel,
You'd see just why I spluttered,
