This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Has anybody else noticed that before you log in that there's a new "section" for fanfics but when you log in it disappears?I'm intrigued.

I was wondering about that too! Maybe they are updating the site and it's some kind of glitch?

The option to search for completed vs ongoing makes me think maybe fics will be hosted here? Maybe like a ff.net?

I have no clue but am certainly intrigued.

Okay, so I decided to be nosey and log out to see what would happen if I click on the search function for this feature and this showed up.

So I signed out and tried searching. I get an error message that the database does not exist. Maybe Mr. Admin is thinking about starting his own FFnet type thing. I know most people don't like ffnet but since it is the easiest to use and has the most fics, it is very popular.

I would love a new fanfic place that was easy to use. AO3 had potential, but I have trouble finding stuff there. I'm either getting better at TWCS, or they just have more writers now, because I actually find stuff there. Usually it's stuff still on FFnet, but hey.

That's what I was thinking - I think it's a great idea as I usually use FFnet but I don't particularly like it and I've also started using You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login but as it's fairly new, there's not much there.
I've even seen authors rec PTS for finding fics, so fingers crossed.

Just wanted to say thanks for the rec on Grand Jeté by stella luna sky. I really enjoyed this sweet story. I'm not usually so engaged with stories this light, but I thought it was wonderful. Perhaps because there was a threat of angst the whole time. *shrugs* Quite lovely, thanks!

Read this and loved it, part of the plot has been used a million times but I liked it.

Thanks for the rec. I have not read a fic in a while as they weren't grabbing me.

I really enjoyed this and am looking for another fic now.

And from way out in left field, is anyone reading this?

Bella had the perfect life – amazing husband, wonderful children, great family...until one night it came crashing to an end. Struggling to care for her children and put her life back together, she wonders if she'll ever be happy again. But the hardest part just might be the confusing things she feels for Edward...her brother-in-law. AH, M, BxE

So, when B&E hook up and have kids, how does one describe the family dynamics... brother/sister/cousins and uncle/daddy/exbil. It's gotten good reviews but that relationship really just squicks me out. I really hate that word (squick, sp?) but appropriately describes how I feel.

Yeah, this could be a big problem. We have authors that come here and complain about what is said about their stories on occasion. If they lived here? I might have a problem talking about the awful and funny SPaG errors, not to mention the horrible writing I come across

Having the same issue as well, no alerts. Also, when I try to mark a Fic to send me alerts for updates, I get an error message saying the site is experiencing technical difficulties. This has been going on for several days.

Having the same issue as well, no alerts. Also, when I try to mark a Fic to send me alerts for updates, I get an error message saying the site is experiencing technical difficulties. This has been going on for several days.

It happens to me also. But I'm getting them again. Though I had to come here on my own first. But I haven't been getting all the other ones either. $:-\$

That is a good fic but then I generally like anything Edward's Eternal writes, Penalty Shot was very sweet.

I am reading another WIP by kitchmill called Altered Measure, its a daddyward and I am finding it fairly enjoyable.

Edward Cullen is living life in the fast lane. As the lead singer of Breaking Dawn, he gets any woman he wants and makes no apologies for it. But when he sets his sights on timid Bella Swan, his life becomes irrevocably altered. How will he handle being thrown into fatherhood and co-parenting with the introverted beauty?

I'm following this one but only really skimming it at the moment (I'll read properly when complete).
As for the family dynamics - this actually happened in my family where my 2nd oldest brother married his sister in-law after they're spouses died in a fire 10 years ago.
Though their kids are cousins they class each other just as step-siblings.
Also if my family didn't sound weird enough my niece married my nephew (her step-brother/cousin) a couple years ago.

All the kids call their parent Mum/Dad and their step parent by their first name as they have had some awful comments in the past about how weird it is that their calling their step parent Aunt/Uncle.
