This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Sideline Collision is still on my TBR. Should I move it up? I just started Stephaniiie's The Hard Way To Learn A Lesson.

I actually liked Sideline Collision, but I know it's not a nolebucgirl favorite for some.  There were parts that dragged, but all in all, I definitely enjoyed it MUCH better than the Hard Way to Learn a Lesson.  Everyone's got different tastes though.

I've read that one, the hard way to learn a leasson. Don't remember the plot but I do remember wanting to punch either Edward or Bella. Definitely won't be re reading that one.

Yes!  Really great story.  Okay, I still like First and Ten better.  Edward is still a little immature in Sideline Collision.  But then he is in college. But I really enjoyed it.

Unnecessary plot twists seems to be the norm in fics.  Actually, even a lot of books have them too.  Particularly the ones that are self-published that make you feel like you're reading fics with different character names. 

Actually, this leads me to a rant regarding the seemingly popular trend to publish books in serial format instead of just one frakking book.  I'm talking about the books that deal with one couple the whole series and how there's always more than a few  moments.  Like book 1 is how they met and got together, book 2 is how they deal with being together and hints of some big, bad, dark secret, book 3 is about the fall out of that big, bad secret and the couple splits, book 4 has the couple back together after some alpha machinations on the H's part and the h falling into his peen hypnosis, book 5 has the h pregnant and feeling like a beached whale and the H doesn't tell the h that his new, oversexed, young secretary has her over-sized boobs all up in his face and her fingers all up and down his business and it goes on and on.  Obviously, I'm exaggerating it... a bit, but not by much.  I mean, c'mon!  Just write the dang story without me having to question the HEA in book 9 that seemed so concrete in book 2!  Is it just me?

This just reminds me of the train wreck of an epilogue that abso-fuckin-lutely ruined High Anxiety for me.  How in the all hell can you write about all the crap they went though and how much they went through to be together for a seemingly HEA in the last chapter and then T-Rex poop on my emotions with that epi.  Sorry, just couldn't get any love for E after that epi and lost all hope for a real HEA.  No matter how much I want to bleach that shit storm out of my brain, even after 2+ years after reading it, it's still hovering there in the back of my mind whenever this fic is mentioned.  Anybody who hasn't read High Anxiety, please take my advice and DON'T READ THE EPILOGUES!

Me too.  I used to read  800 page stories so charging the same price for a 250 page "Part 1" annoys me.
