Ella, I stay off facebook other than to lurk on very rare occasions.  What have you done over there to stir up controversy?
LOL!  Just my usual comments about PDFs. But someone rec'd a story that looked good and needed some love.  So I checked it out. Halfway through the first chapter,  Bella is described as having blue eyes. I commented that it was a pet peeve of mine when authors changed the eye color which was too bad because it looked like a good story.   A few agreed. A few disagreed.

Yeah I like to cause problems.  >:D

Last week was horrible for me over in Europe too.  I had horrible sinus headaches and couldn't figure out what was causing them until I walked outside and saw the pollen coating everything.
I also grew up in the Bay Area in an area with a good number of Spanish speakers, and I studied Spanish in high school, amongst friends we would occasionally use a Spanish phrase since everyone studied Spanish.  I have since lived in a Spanish speaking country and improved my Spanish so now that I live in a German speaking country, I still hear Spanish whenever it is spoken around me, and will speak it more readily to my kids.  So it could just be that the author has a friend in Seattle who speaks Spanish or something.
The author is from New Jersey or New York - she talks about them in her AN's. I know that part of the east coast has a high concentration of Spanish speakers.

Yeah, my brother took Spanish in school. But French and German were also popular.  But I still don't think it was as popular as LA and Seattle is even further north.

But maybe she has a reason for it. They were in an orphanage for a few years.  It's just distracting. And she puts miles with kilometers in parentheses next to it.   :-\

I know I shouldn't complain. I should just flounce.

She has shows in Brooklyn Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday so that's why they are in New York.

What sort of music does she even MAKE? I've never heard anything.

You haven't heard her Matron because she's not mainstream.   I don't even know how to classify her.  Not my cup of tea.  She was on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a while back and it did nothing for me and I turned off the set.   I think she's more popular in Europe.   I know she was up for a music award in Britain last year but she didn't win.

I finished Where We Fell by Amber Johnson and it was excellent!  It's short, but just long enough to not feel rushed.

Can't believe none of us have watched the uncensored 50SoG yet.    I need to remedy that this weekend.

Did not see the theatrical release but I bought the DVD and liked it.....more than I thought I would. Not sure how they compare.

I know you all probably think I'm crazy when I talk about the change in Rob's (and Twig's) body language recently, but look at this timeline.  I only noticed when looking at this that the change seems to coincide with engagement rumors.

In most of the headshot pics they are holding hands.....which obviously is not shown in those shots.

So I was reading in one of the gossip mags that they are offering Jamie $1.5 mil on the next movie to take it all off.  It will be tasteful, supposedly.  *crosses fingers*  Do you think he needs a fluffer?

Sigh, I think Loopy will beat me up to get that job!  :-*

LOL!  I usually go more for the funny.  And then I am trying to convert everyone to ePubs.

And I usually say this is my opinion which doesn't have to apply to others. The woman who rec'd the story actually responded with a statement that the blue eyes were barely mentioned so it shouldn't affect the story.  So I may have to read it now.

I actually left a group when I found out on of the admins was a woman I try to avoid. Too many rules and she is nasty in her enforcing of them. There are some good groups out there where the majority of the people are really great. I try to stick to those groups.  And really?  I mostly lurk except for the people who I've gotten to know a bit. ;)

Yeah I wouldn't make a character speak Spanish at random without a good explanation for it.  Maybe the kilometers are because she has a reader who can't convert and asked for it?  Not that distances generally have much influence on the plot, unless they are talking speed.

I am slightly curious as to some these facebook groups you mention just to read the drama, but then I don't need more drama besides 3 year old threenager drama

Yeah we're all fine, it was my fault as I thought I'd make the family tea for once and put my spaghetti making skills to the test.  :P
I even googled how too cook pasta sauce to go with it.  ^-^

I left the sauce onto long and the saucepan caught on fire which then caught the cooker on fire (which is electric), which then spread a lot faster than I thought it would, nothing's too damaged it's just the smoke has made everything smelly and grimy.
We've only just finished sorting the kitchen out a few weeks ago after moving back in properly, to say the hubby is pissed is an understatement.
Just another reason why I don't go into the kitchen to cook anything.  :P :P

We have a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket which my BIL gave us (he's a part-time firefighter), but like you hun, it's been so long since I've used either (even though work used to do fire training every 3 months) I'd probably cause a fire using them instead of putting one out.  :D :P :P

Lol, of course I'd steal the job from you. I've been training for years for it.  :P :D :D  >:D >:D

LOL! Most of the drama seems to occur when I'm asleep and is gone/removed by the Admins by the time I hear about it.  Usually it is the Robsten fans that get upset when any mention is made of Rob with anyone other than Kristen. Then there are a few authors that have started bruhahas when they take exception to a comment made about their story.  At least these are the ones I have heard of.

The fanfiction hunters pack used to get a lot from authors who didn't want pulled stuff shared. And frankly there were some crazy people in that group. It was too bad because the idea was good.

I mostly stick with the Vampward Lovers group, the No Rules Twilight Fanfic Recs Club, Trade Twilight Fics group,  and the Twilight Fanfiction Finders group.  I mostly go for recs. But there is one member who started a request line and everyday she pulls a category out of a hat such as "The Best Kids in a Fic" and people post their favorites that fit the category. Sometimes I post other times I have nothing.  It's fun.  I get some good stuff there. ;)

Its a good reminder for all of us about fire safety, we bought smoke alarms when we moved into our apartment, but they are still sitting in the boxes waiting to be put up, this is a good excuse to remember to do that.

Thanks hun, that was meant to be my job installing the smoke alarms but I kept making excuses to not do it.
But they're definitely installed now, it was either install them or listen to the hubby bitch about it.  ::)

Thanks hun, two days later and everything still stinks and is kind of grimy from the smoke. Gotta get it cleaned ASAP though as my daughters due on Monday, so it would be nice to be able to have the house not smelling icky.

Our house was built in 2005 and has alarms built-in. They are pretty much required on all house sales since I first started buying houses in the late '90's. But what I found interesting was when we had solar panels installed a couple years ago, they also installed CO2 detectors. The contractor told us the county wouldn't approve any installation if there were no smoke detectors or CO2 detectors. So it was part of the installation to make sure we had both and install them if we didn't. And the inspector did check.  I guess it's good.

I just wish they hadn't put one of the alarms in the hallway near the oven.  Whenever I cook something on high and then open the oven, the alarm goes off.   :P
