Ella, I stay off facebook other than to lurk on very rare occasions. What have you done over there to stir up controversy?
Last week was horrible for me over in Europe too. I had horrible sinus headaches and couldn't figure out what was causing them until I walked outside and saw the pollen coating everything.I also grew up in the Bay Area in an area with a good number of Spanish speakers, and I studied Spanish in high school, amongst friends we would occasionally use a Spanish phrase since everyone studied Spanish. I have since lived in a Spanish speaking country and improved my Spanish so now that I live in a German speaking country, I still hear Spanish whenever it is spoken around me, and will speak it more readily to my kids. So it could just be that the author has a friend in Seattle who speaks Spanish or something.
LOL! Just my usual comments about PDFs. But someone rec'd a story that looked good and needed some love. So I checked it out. Halfway through the first chapter, Bella is described as having blue eyes. I commented that it was a pet peeve of mine when authors changed the eye color which was too bad because it looked like a good story. A few agreed. A few disagreed. Yeah I like to cause problems.
She has shows in Brooklyn Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday so that's why they are in New York.
I finished Where We Fell by Amber Johnson and it was excellent! It's short, but just long enough to not feel rushed. Can't believe none of us have watched the uncensored 50SoG yet. I need to remedy that this weekend.
I know you all probably think I'm crazy when I talk about the change in Rob's (and Twig's) body language recently, but look at this timeline. I only noticed when looking at this that the change seems to coincide with engagement rumors. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
What sort of music does she even MAKE? I've never heard anything.
So I was reading in one of the gossip mags that they are offering Jamie $1.5 mil on the next movie to take it all off. It will be tasteful, supposedly. *crosses fingers* Do you think he needs a fluffer? Sigh, I think Loopy will beat me up to get that job!
I think Loopy would beat ALL of us to get that job.
Have you taken over shit-stirring duties?
I think I've caught up with what I missed from not coming on for 2 days (after catching our kitchen on fire!! ). Lol, you all know me so well. I'd be the best fluffer EVER!!
The author is from New Jersey or New York - she talks about them in her AN's. I know that part of the east coast has a high concentration of Spanish speakers. Yeah, my brother took Spanish in school. But French and German were also popular. But I still don't think it was as popular as LA and Seattle is even further north. But maybe she has a reason for it. They were in an orphanage for a few years. It's just distracting. And she puts miles with kilometers in parentheses next to it. I know I shouldn't complain. I should just flounce.
LOL! I usually go more for the funny. And then I am trying to convert everyone to ePubs. And I usually say this is my opinion which doesn't have to apply to others. The woman who rec'd the story actually responded with a statement that the blue eyes were barely mentioned so it shouldn't affect the story. So I may have to read it now. I actually left a group when I found out on of the admins was a woman I try to avoid. Too many rules and she is nasty in her enforcing of them. There are some good groups out there where the majority of the people are really great. I try to stick to those groups. And really? I mostly lurk except for the people who I've gotten to know a bit.
Are you and your family okay? Didn't you just get the house back after the flood? This is why you are supposed to have a fire extinguisher in your kitchen. Though mine has been in there so long, who knows if it works. LOL!And I knew you would steal the job from me! !!!
epubs are way better I am slightly curious as to some these facebook groups you mention just to read the drama, but then I don't need more drama besides 3 year old threenager drama
Yeah we're all fine, it was my fault as I thought I'd make the family tea for once and put my spaghetti making skills to the test. I even googled how too cook pasta sauce to go with it. I left the sauce onto long and the saucepan caught on fire which then caught the cooker on fire (which is electric), which then spread a lot faster than I thought it would, nothing's too damaged it's just the smoke has made everything smelly and grimy. We've only just finished sorting the kitchen out a few weeks ago after moving back in properly, to say the hubby is pissed is an understatement. Just another reason why I don't go into the kitchen to cook anything. We have a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket which my BIL gave us (he's a part-time firefighter), but like you hun, it's been so long since I've used either (even though work used to do fire training every 3 months) I'd probably cause a fire using them instead of putting one out. Lol, of course I'd steal the job from you. I've been training for years for it.
Glad you are all okay. Its a good reminder for all of us about fire safety, we bought smoke alarms when we moved into our apartment, but they are still sitting in the boxes waiting to be put up, this is a good excuse to remember to do that.
I let my husband do most of the cooking too. Just glad everyone is okay. Cleaning won't be fun though.
