Hmmm..? Only a week! You'll need a week in Scotland!..... And it will alwaysbe the UK, we are never letting them go!  >:(  :D

I'd fly to Edinburgh and rent a car and then take the Perth Road (M90) or the M9 (takes a bit longer but more picturesque to Inverness and spend 3 day in the Highlands (do Fort William, Culloden, Loch Ness etc...and all the Spot-a Jamie- hunts  :D) Then come back down via the A82 to Glasgow ( it means you see another part of Scotland) and take the train down to London stopping maybe in Bath for a day, maybe? You can then spend the rest of the time in London and fly out of Heathrow. I'm not sure where you are in the US but you should be able to fly direct into Scotland with most UK airlines BA, Virgin etc and fly out from a London airport. I'd try to come in the summer it'll likely rain in the Highland regardless of the time of year (though God it was beautiful in the snow) but you may to get some sun in England in August, just don't quote me!

 >:D >:D oooooo I have homework. I live near the coast of NC in the USA.

You know.....where the hurricanes like to ram me up the A**.  :o

I am sure we would fly Delta and out of Atlanta, GA.

I am not sure they would have snow yet in October, but I have heard there is a possibility I could see the northern lights in Scotland? I think the best time of the year is October ? That is another bucket list item.

Man....I have lots and lots of homework.

:D :D :D :D So does he need to be handcuffed in your wild escapades so your poor nose can heal ?  :D :D :D :D

Hope all goes well tomorrow. Can't have Loopy all winded cause she cannot breathe.
Thanks hun.  :-*

Lol, whenever I try and restrain him in our playroom I'm the one that ends up in the handcuffs/ties/chains etc.  ::) ::)

So if anyone wants/can restrain the hubby so I can still have fun and heal - you're more than welcome to try.  :D :D

They are both from Celtic heritage so they will have a lot of similarities in their appearances.  There are tons of Viking-like Scots darling, you'll be fine, I have dark hair and eyes so I'm not particularly blend-able in the Highlands :D

Whimpers and cries  :'( :'( :'( :'( .......VIKINGWARD. Gawd. I would love for that one to be complete.

Hmmm? Not sure Delta would fly direct to Scotland without a stop/transfer in London but you never know.....you want to definitely take the train either there or back, we could have flown but I would have missed some breathtaking scenery which I just never get to see....

They wouldn't have snow in October but it'll be miserable with rain and damp...I think Scotland might be at its best either in the dead of winter or in the height of summer...the middle bits? Yes, but not when you're coming so far for a holiday and you only have a week. If you had a month then whatever, you could sit out the rain, wait for it to stop, take your sweet time about the whole thing...

RDM - You look as ravishing as you did when you posted your pic the last time!

When we went to Scotland many, many moons ago, it was May. We took the train from London, stopped in Bath, then on to Edinburgh and Inverness.  I don't like to drive in foreign countries (especially when the roads are backwards!), and the train is so much more relaxing.  You don't have to worry about getting lost and you can just look at the scenery.  Sleeping on trains is also bliss.  I highly recommend the train.

In May it was about 40 degrees F.  We asked if they ever got warm weather and were told, "Yes, for about 3 weeks in August."  Of course, August is also when everyone goes on vacation.  So for cold, grey, wet weather, I don't think it matters when you go.  Just dress appropriately.

You might want to figure out what you want to see while you're there, then determine the right time of year to go.  For instance, things that could throw you off (or that you might want to see) include annual festivals, special rituals, the Queen being in residence, etc.  If you like gardens, make sure you go when they're at their best and open to the public.  Same goes for certain castles.

It's a beautiful country.  I just wish I'd had warmer clothes with me when we went.

I swear, after 25.5 years of marriage, he has definitely gotten more romantic. I always thought it would have been the other way around. That you would become comfortable with each other, and maybe complacent, etc. Nope, not him.

I realize that since I only see him on most Sat/Sun, we are more appreciative of the time we have. (that is why I disappear on the weekends from here most of the time) and no reading gets done until Sunday night.

I have a lot of "awllll, that's sweet" moments. But yesterday, was hard and I had one hell of a time swallowing the lump in my throat. To have an adult man you love plead and beg for you to tell him to stay.....yea....it won't easy not to give him what he wanted.

He loves his job, just hates it takes him away from me. Our kids are grown and gone, so it is just me at home during the week. I never complain, and honestly there is no need. With the hours that I work, we wouldn't see each other long at night anyway. I do ok most of the time in his absence. I am either at work, or blogging and reading at night. I am always positive when he calls (everyday) and never bore him with everything problems that I have already solved. I don't know how to make it easier for him so he can continue doing what he loves. Any suggestions?

That is so nice to hear!!! Lately all I've hear is how marriages are falling apart at the 20 year mark.. It makes me sad! I seriously would have bawled my eyes out! That is such a sweet tender moment! It breaks my heart!

I think you are showing him amazing support!! Its such a selfless and kind thing you both seem to have... Makes my heart all squishy!!!  :-*
Seems like he might be having some internal battle about whether his job is worth it or not, and was hoping you'd make the decision for him. Have you guys sat and talked about it?? I know sometimes I need to pull teeth out of my hubby to get him to tell me what he wants! He has gotten better over the years.. and also A LOT more sappy than when we first were dating ;)

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
Am I confused? I know I have started and stopped more than an old car trying to get running, but still. Maybe Jamie clouds my memory?

I know it will be soooooooooooooooo damn long tween Season 1 and 2, especially now that I have read the book !

Has the comp ended and its now open to judging or are there more entrants to come?  And which pretty lady is going to take up where Astro left off and compile these wonderful stories for us into one doc? I've been trying to figure it out to no avail.... :(
it is easy to do in Calibre. Go to the contest page, copy the URL,  do the grab all stories. But instead of grabbing as individual stories,  grab as an anthology.  I can maybe do it next week but you may have to remind me. Third week of travel and I'm not really keeping up at this point.   :P

I read both of those and liked them.  I did however flounce the two below because the subject/situation had a serious ick factor for me - doctor/barely legal patient. Maybe it is because I have 2 daughters in college.

I read the first one and didn`t like it either so I didn`t even bother with the second one. Must say that I read most of this entries and there`s few that are ok but none of it impressed me that much as the ones I mentioned earlier (Star Shaped Heart and Oblivious).

It's for nothing serious, I'm just going to have an op on my sinus so I can finally breathe properly as for the last 20 years since I first broke my nose I've had sinus problems and then breaking it another 7 times hasn't really helped.

I was suppose to go in and have this op last year but broke my nose again, thanks to the hubby, so they wouldn't do it.  :( ::)

I hope all will be good for you with the op and wish you quick recovery   :-*  :-*  :-*

Your yesterday`s post broke my heart   :brokenheart:- you sounded so sad!  I don`t know how to help you but you must know that the way you write about your marriage shows that it is something special. Something we all seek in our lives. You both care for each other very deeply after all these years and that`s the most importand thing. It`s a beautiful thing. Much better than if neither of you cared about him being away. I hope me and my husband can be like that after so many years of being together. You`re very supportive to him and I admire you for that! It takes a lot not to take all your misery on the other person who`s away when you fell that way. It shows that you`re truly wonderful person.
Lots of hugs and love  :-*  :-*  :-*

You can also use the "make anthology" option from fanfiction downloader, I'm headed to bed, but I can do it in the morning if any needs it.

I made a combined epub of all of the May to December Romance contest entries, pm me your email address and I can send it to anyone who wants it.

Wow, a lot to comment on...

1. Demaris - when lauren combined WWF, the chapters were not in sequence since the EPOV started later. But as FFG said, it's nice to read them at the same time.  :)

You bet i trued to zoom in on the picture of Mr.PA but got zilch (for both heads bwahahahahahahaha :D :D)

2. Loppy - hope the operation goes well.
If only i have the funds and balls to fly there, i can try to handle your hubby bwahahahahahahaha  :D :D

3. RD - such a lovely picture. You're absolutely gorgeous! No wonder your husband has a hard time leaving you. I do hope everything works out for you both. Maybe after 25.5 years, it's time to decide how you can spend more time together. Am sure that would entail sacrifices but being together daily is a reward worth getting.  :)
I totally agree with the comments of OBL, Efka, and the girls...such a great love story you are living.  :)

4. Chareader - thanks for letting us know about the contest... And which one to avoid  :)

5. Bluegeek - thanks for doing the anthology! Sending you a PM now.  :)

6. Ella - where are you travelling to?

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
RD, I kind of understand how your husband feels.  I rarely see my husband during the week when we are both home because he works long hours and goes to bed early because, as far as I'm concerned, he gets up in the middle of the night to go to work. So when I travel for a week or two, I don't really miss him.  But Brazil is a long way to go if you need to get back in a hurry. I'm never that far. I rarely leave California.  And based on the picture he is way too young to retire. :(  Hard decision.

Loopy, I really think he should let you control stuff once in a while. Maybe you won't end up in the ER or whatever they call it  (A&E?) So much.  Good luck with your surgery. ;)

Demaris, I think it's highly unfair that you tease us with a picture of Mr. PA and then have him so wrapped up we can't see anything.  :D

Okay my phone has frozen and I really have no idea what I'm writing. Hopefully this post is not a mess. ;)

Just curious in the index there are multiple links with MoTU.  Which one is the whole Completed one and are the outtakes worth it? Is there a completed on one with all the outtakes??

But you'll need all 3 uploads.

Nothing includes all the outtakes.  The outtakes are mostly worth it if you like getting Edward's POV.  You can skip 50's first Christmas, though.
