Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

I just read it and wondered what inspired her to do it after so long. Must say that lack of money wasn`t on my mind but now when you mention it...  :D  :D  :D

Apparently it was written before To Kill but Lee's editor liked the flashback of the grown up Jean Louise Finch (Scout) and told her to write a book from young Scouts perspective...Imagine that?  :o

So...I just finished reading The Darkness of Perfection. It was the fanfiction The Perfect Wife. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was completely reworked and had no sexual abuse between father or daughter or brother or anything like that. I recommend giving it a try because there is a mafia twist to it and part 2 is being finished now.

See, I kinda liked The Perfect Wife....*whispers* Sorry. I've had The Darkness Of Perfection saved on my TBR forever and the 'reworking' is what has stopped me reading it. Though you know that rmcrms5 says that Perfection is an original work so....*shrug*

Where did part 1 end?

Where did part 1 end?

It's hard to compare the two stories because The Darkness of Perfection really just took a sliver of the plot from The Perfect Wife.  The Darkness of Perfection also had an end.  Yes, you could follow these characters on their journey, they are young, after all.  But, it's not entirely necessary.  The Darkness of Perfection ends with

He's young, good-looking and in town for the summer. She's beautiful, kind and someone's mom. Can records and workouts be the key to their happiness?

I just finished Vinyl and it ended more like the middle of a multi chapter cliffhanger than the one shot it is supposed to be, I bet it will be continued.  I thought it was good, but it felt incomplete.

Part one is a stand alone. I kinda liked The Perfect Wife also except for a few things, anyway, rmcrms5 told me today that the sequel is finished and in editing and that it is more of an outtake.

You don't remember Icy and SR doing that when Motu and UoEM were wips? They did it right much.

No! FSOG and Gabriel's Inferno were what brought me to Twifics, I never knew them as WIPs. Thank God!

I can remember people asking if Icy and SR were married.  They were just good friends. I've been reading ff since 2009. I smile at those days. Watching the world go nuts over Fifty, when we were in that boat yrs before, etc.

Bashful SR.  We still don't know a lot. Except for his love of argyle socks and I faintly remember bowties. Lol. I know he started writing ff because he couldn't sleep after many moons of trying to have children and he and his wife had miscarried. Many of us do believe he really is a prof at a Canadian college. He would neither confirm or deny that. I think the daughter he lost was what his book was dedicated to. I think her name was MIA, but that's all memory of years ago.

It's neat to see all these authors we read long ago publishing. It's like.....hey I remember you when.

I had the same impression after reading this - almost nothing of Bella`s past (beside the rumours) was revealed. But I`m glad because it`s seems like a start of good story.

Right now I`m reading "The Dick In Me" by FictionFreak95 or rather trying to cause I can`t get into this story. It`s like I`m reading few pages and I`m bored. But I`m a freak and when I start the story I don`t like to put it down unfinished unless it`s really bad  :banghead: Can you tell me if any other of her stories are more interesting and worth reading? I read Blind Spot and thought it was ok.

Because I started this one before it finished, I was left hanging at an angsty point for QUITE some time.  However, the author came back and finished it.

The writing is pretty good, not too many SPaGs or typos.  I enjoyed the story very much.  She does not spoon feed you the plot or characters' emotions.  Nor does she beat you over the head with her message.  All the characters have serious martyr complexes or, in some cases, are incredibly selfish.  Ella, I know you don't like BDSM, but the BDSM elements here are pretty mild.  It's a bit angsty, but not overwhelmingly so.  Overall, I liked it.

CharReader - Charles is replacing Benedict Cumberbach who has a scheduling problem with another movie (Marvel's Dr. Strange).  Filming will begin this summer.  Brad Pitt is one of the producers.  I really wanted to see Benedict in this role.
