Do you know I've never read a Nicholas Sparks' novel? Does that mean I have to hand in my I Have A Vagina membership card? If I wanted to finally dip my big toes which book would anyone who has read him suggest I start with?
Loopy is 30-31 [emoji1]
Don't anybody throw anything at me - but I have read maybe 5 Nicholas Sparks books. Whoever on the last page said that he wrote love stories and not romances is correct. There is no HEA in most of his books. I absolutely hated Dear John. I hated both characters - her because she dumped him to marry someone else who developed cancer and him because he was stupid and sold off his father's coin collection so that she could afford the cancer treatments so the hubby could live. John went back to serve in Irag - no happy ending here. I've read The Wedding and two others - titles at this point I can't remember. One takes place on the outer banks of North Carolina in a hurricane - female character is stuck her family cottage. The other was about a guy whose wife was in a car accident and in a coma and he was caring for the kids. I've never read Message In A Bottle - if it weren't for the fact that Sparks wrote it I would. Kevin Costner directed and starred in the movie. I saw the last five minutes accidently one day when I was switching channels - cried the whole five minutes it was so sad. There was no happy ending here either. demaris - avoid him - you'll end up hating yourself if you try reading him - I'm a slow learner which is why I made it through 4 (or 5?) books. I should have learned my lesson with Dear John and stopped while I was behind.
Um, I have never read Nicolas Sparks either. Or watched a movie of his. So I guess I should turn my vajayjay card in also.
Can't help you there. I haven't read any either. I watched The Notebook under duress, but James Garner was in it and I do love him.
I've never read a Sparks either, but I have watched enough of his movies to know I don't like those, either. Someone always dies. I don't know who decided he wrote romance, he doesn't. Love stories, yes, but romance, no, because romance requires that HEA. I don't mind angst through a story, so long as I get that HEA ending!
as you can see, you are not alone. though i wouldn't go to the extent of handing out my Vagina membership card, I don't want to grow a dick nor walk around with balls hanging between my thighs! [emoji13][emoji12]I don't read sparks, coehllo and similar sappy, sad, deep sh*t like that. fluff and no brain matter needed is what i prefer. i read to escape and not add the horrors of others to my life [emoji13]this is why I don't watch dramas but if one has a great review/story/actors/oscar nomination, i might give it a try.i have only watched A Walk to Remember and The Notebook from the sparks movie roster. I really rec The Notebook, worth the cry! [emoji6]i like efron, duhamel and tatum but haven't bothered to watch their sparks movie though [emoji19] would rather watch The Expendables over these dramas [emoji12]
I guess I need to hand in my card too. Congrats Loopy!!!
Spoilers for those who haven't read MOTU or FSoGSorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
Wow! Here I thought at least Booked would have read a couple (I know you love a sappy romance ).....but I didn't realise that he didn't write HEA....I'm definitely going to read something of his now . I've seen The Notebook, its been on TV a ton of times but that is because I Ryan Goslin! Ruth, I have no idea what you wrote and I saw the length of your post and assumed you've given away the plot of half a dozen stories so....fast-scrolled past it
Demaris - I found the name of the Sparks that takes place during a hurricane in North Carolina. Try Nights In Rodanthe. Do not - I repeat - do not read Dear John. Its an entirely useless book.
LOL! They can say it hon, I think it was a typo! The comments were nuts, did you read the one woman that tried to make FSOG out to be the next great hope for literature....
Hi! So I'm brand new here abd in desperate need of my fave type of Edward... OLDERWARD. If anyone has any good story links or pdf files that have something to do with olderward, please let me know. Is be eternally grateful! Ty in advance!

Is that the reason why Grey is the way he is? I can't remember what triggered his Dom gene.....I keep hearing 'mummy issues' but I really can't remember. GOD! The reason Grey is the way he is is because Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.I have no problem just rereading what I want to reread and skipping all the rest. And switching to something else when I'm bored.
That's right! Now I remember! Wait. No. Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
hehehe..Thanks Ruth, I'll remember to stay away.... anyway didn't the film star that Tatum Somebody and the actress with the bulging eyes? I think I saw trailers; having them in my head while I read isn't something I'd relish, at all.
