Well - let me put it this way - she either did it accidently or on purpose.  She has/had a tendency to push the envelope and the moderator thinking on the moderator forum is that she did it deliberately to try to stir things up - hard to tell.  This is the same person who was trying to pad her post count (post willy-nilly to up her posts to change her status).  I stopped that one in its tracks - she was reading a 50 Shades fanfic and started posting chapter by chapter everytime she read one on in the thread 2014 - What Are You Reading?  Its only for books - I ran across it right after she posted and bitched about it on the Moderator Forum. I pointed out that if we gained posts by the number of fanfic chapters we read - I'd have well over the 11,000 posts that one of the moderators has who has been on longer than me - and I currently have 5600 (after 10 years).   She was penalized 2 post counts (taken away from her) - one was for the 50 Shades post but I have no clue where else she lost a point.   This is also the same person who invented 3 members with different profiles who challenged AJ as being a bitch and deliberately targeting her (the member) on purpose.  That backfired when AJ checked the IP address and discovered all 4 were posting from the same computer, same location - at night - conclusion - fake members.  Like I said - pushing the envelope.  Sooo......you be the judge - accidental or on purpose?  Considering no one else was missing even a chapter on their fics.........Life is an adventure.

This was my favorite angsty drabble.  I thought it was fairly well done for a drabble fic.  It also had an EPOV that she started posting.  I don't know if the EPOV will stand alone, but you can read just the BPOV one without the EPOV one, if that makes sense.

Learning To Let Go  By: lvtwilight09  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Today was supposed to be a good day...I wasn't supposed to be at the coroner's office identifying my dead husband. After a devastating loss, can Bella learn to let go and embrace love again, even when it's found in the most unlikely of places?

Edward's twin brother was Bella's husband.  So there is a B & E HEA.

That's cheating! Bella loses an Edward, but whoops! It's OK because it's only his twin? So, yeah! HEA all round? Nah. This also sounds like angst to me Ella?  :o And its your favourite? Are you shedding your fluffy coat?  :D  :-*

Jessica comes home after a 3 year trip expecting Edward to be waiting to marry her, but she is in for quite the surprise.

So, this was a story search on the 152 thread and I thought it sounded like a pretty good story, so I PM'd the author and below are her reponses.

I will be posting again but it won't be anytime soon I'm afraid :( It hasn't been updated in over a year because I did have the entire story written on an old laptop which was stolen.. I'm having to re-write it and have had a lot of trouble getting back into the flow of it seeing as I wrote the entire story in 3 days the first time around.

Things just don't seem to be going back in the right order and I am constantly going back and adding bits to older chapters that I had forgotten until writing the next one :( All I can say at the moment is it has not been abandoned or forgotten.

Thanks,
Emz.

By all means, pass the world along! lol I've had a few messages about this story but I am loathe to do an authors note about it. I know how disappointing it is getting a story update only to find out it's an authors note lol

The only other thing I will say at this time is there will be no more updates until it is complete so once I am done there will be 2 chapters a week uploaded until it's finished..... no more long assed waits once it gets going again :p

More people need to learn about always backing up their stuff! I have my ebooks saved on my laptop and several different clouds, just to be safe.
:iagree: :iagree: :iagree:
I couldn't agree more with you hun.
And always back-up your back-up, I learnt this the hard way when my External HD decided to die on me a few years ago, so now I've got back-up books/fics etc on Ext-HD, several online storage places and all burnt onto CDs so that if any of my other methods cock up I've always got a back-up and with over 40,000 ebooks and over 10,000 fics it's needed.  :D

The dead husband had blue eyes.

I just said it was my favorite angsty drabble. I read angst, like Torn,  Wisp, and Loner.  I just prefer the ones where the bad thing has happened and the story is about getting better. There will be bad moments as well as good. It's the constant bad stuff happening over and over again that makes me annoyed and angry rather than sad and whatever your supposed to feel in an angsty story.

This is why I won't read Dusty.  If there was a really good reason for drug use?  Maybe I could deal.  But general addicts are self centered and don't really care about others until they need something.  I don't feel bad for them.

So I don't mind good angst. I'm just picky about the type.  :-*

I've been using SkyDrive, but it makes me mad cause it won't recognize epubs. I saved an epub to the drive and tried to open it up on my phone, and it wouldn't let me (said there wasn't an application that could perform that actions--bullsh*t!). Is Google Drive any better?

Can I also add, which cloud gives you the most free storage without having to do anything extra? A friend is a concert pianist and finds it hard to save videos of all of her performances, and I was just thinking of the previous discussions on the different clouds and hadn't had the time to go back and search.

I can download epubs without a problem from Google drive and can open on my phone with an epub reader.
Is that what you wanted to know?

It's fine for storage. Not good as a calibre library.

Well, ever since I got a tablet, I've been using calibre and mobi for the kindle app (thanks, ella). I download all of my books/fics/music/etc. on my phone, tablet, and laptop. Whatever one I download something on, I download it on the others. I haven't used the skydrive since I started using calibre. But like, if my laptop crashes, does calibre back it up online somewhere? Or am I SOL?

I use Copy.com to back up my Calibre library. I also back up to an external drive. But Copy.com is a pain to do a search on. Thru Calibre, I copy to the Copy library, then sync to their server. I can then sync to the copy library on my desktop computer.  I never actually look at the Copy.com drive because it never fully loads

So good backup. But not so good to find a single story.  So I have the Google drive for that.

Yeah, I'm just looking for somewhere to store stuff (not replace my Calibre library). I have an external hard drive (WD My Passport for Macs) which has capacity for 1TB worth of data but Loopy mentioning her  external HD going kaput made me think I should maybe back up to a cloud as well...How much space does your Google drive give you Ella? I might have a look at iCloud too, anyone use that?

Thank you my dear...I think I'll go with Google as I just had a look at iCloud; Jesus, sometimes Apple makes me want to hit my head against something hard! I never bother with it apart for when I back up my iphone or ipad but I thought it'd at least have some document storage capacity? Nada! How late are they?! This autumn, apparently, when they launch iOS 8 then we'll get iCloud Drive which will save documents, PDF etc...LATE!

Currently midway through a series of books called "Signal Bend" about a motorcycle club by Susan Fanetti. I got the bug reading one that Kristen Ashley wrote that was a very quick read. Anyway, I had to get past my aversion to one character that's described as having long dark hair that keeps braided down his back. There have been so many times I've flounced something because the physical characteristics annoy me, because I know I'll get tired of reading how sexy someone's whatever~ is. I got past it and now I'm on my way to the fifth book in the series! I really like them. The first book, Move The Sun, was extremely raunchy. I think there's a lemon every chapter, and the characters are really aggressive  :o After the second book, the main POV shifts to another couple and everything has seemed much tamer in comparison.

I'm somewhat new to the adult romance genre and have noticed it's really common for a series to get a book with each characters POV. Sometimes I have no interest in the characters and feel like I'll miss out on something if I don't read that book, so that sucks :/

But the most popular motorcycle club series that I've found on Goodreads is the "Undeniable" series by Madeline Sheehan.

Here's the synopsis:
Quote
Warning: This is not a "typical love story". This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It’s intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn’t happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops—with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache—over the span of a lifetime.

Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with bikers in the club lifestyle is all that she knows. When she’s a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the sexy, biker bad-ass of the Hell’s Horsemen Motorcycle Club. Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club—but that’s where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love. Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and bloodshed that could tear them apart. Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself—a man worthy of love—and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can’t live without.

This is Eva and Deuce’s story.

It wasn’t easy.
Nothing worth doing ever is.
And love is worth everything.

LOL I feel like I just read a TeamBella23 blurb. I have no desire to read the series personally, especially after reading some of the spoilers and seeing how reviewers have left nasty comments on other reviews for entirely different motorcycle club books. It kind of sounds like the never ending soap opera angst that Ella mentioned. But I'm curious if any of you have read the series?

I would never read the Undeniable series, personally. The reviews make it seem like just a huge fustercluck or angst and cheating and jerk behavior, plus, the author has been known to go after negative reviewers AND sic her fans on negative reviewers. Not gonna reward an another when I KNOW she's exhibited such bad behavior.

If you're looking for an MC series, maybe try Stephanie Tyler's Defiance or Skull Creek series. I haven't read these, but I have read her M/M books written as S.E. Jakes, and I know she's a fabulous author.

I've also heard good things about that Reaper's series by Joanna Wylde.

I think the separate books from each POV thing actually started in fanfic. I've been reading romance for over 30 years, and it's just been in the past three or four years, if that, that authors have started putting out two books for each story. I think they just see more money in it, with not a lot more effort.

Yeah it's different, I'll say that. There's a series I read by Susan Elizabeth Phillips called the "Chicago Stars Series" about a fictional football team, and she's written a few books for the characters in that series but they don't really overlap the way they do in fanfiction. Like one person will get a story and then the next book takes place a few years later so it's a whole different set of characters.

I first noticed it with this book called Sugar Daddy. I forget the author, but for some reason she felt the need to give readers the view point of the romantic lead that DIDN'T get the girl. He was a giant douche in the first book, so I guess it was her way of redeeming his character, but I really had no desire to read his story. It was lame because the series is in chronological order, and he ends up with another annoying character from the first book, so I ended up reading the third book and trying to piece together what happened because I was not about to waste my time with that!

We are one of the lucky ones that had no damage to our property. However, we are encountering rotating brownouts (diff areas are scheduled diff times to have no power) that have lasted 5 hours every day. This is mainly bec a lot of the power lines fell and combined with lack of power generation from some power plants, we have to endure these brownouts. Again, we are still lucky as nearby cities haven't had power since the storm hit on wednesday. It is my poor kids who have had to suffer through it. Classes have been suspend as they are clearing the debris in the schools. So they have been at home bearing the heat while we are at work in our airconditioned offices.  :(

Sorry, can't contribute to the back up discussion. My fanfic backup is Ella's google docs and PTS  ;D :-\ Have no back up for my ebooks  8) :P Yeah, maybe i should start reading about Copy...

I also liked the Reaper, havent gotten round to reading books 1and 2 yet. Loved the Chaos series of Kristen Ashley, spin off from Motorcycle Man.

Am currently going through the Sea Breeze series of Abbi Glines. Am now about to start book 4 but after trying to recall my motorcycle books, i just might go and read Reaper's book 2.

Oh, and my OCD can't stand not reading the entire series so i will read the alternate POV of books i really loved.  :)
