Dusty is a story about minors doing totally inappropriate things with and to each other while their parents idly stand by or are stupidly blind.  It's full of angst and things that will piss you off. It is about Edward and Bella, but you've only seen them this way if you've read a lot of TeamBella23 and/or yellowglue. If you are a major angst hoor, like demaris and loopy, you'll like it, even as it infuriates you.  It's long and frequently poetic, but consistently annoying.  If you're looking for fun and games, look elsewhere.  Otherwise, read and enjoy the angst.

[emoji23] I wish there was a 'snort' emoji as your break-down made my morning coffee exit through my nose!

Let's be fair; as infuriating as it is, it's also well written, good character development (even if you want to punch their lights out half the time) good story structure which built up to the inevitable climax.  As far away from the norm (read cliché) as you can imagine; because let's be honest, hasn't it all (Twifics) become rather predictable? There's a reason some of us haven't read a Twific in months. And (back to Dusty) one of, if not THE, best fan fiction completed in the last two years. IMO.

Who or what is Siri?

I've been using iOS since its invention and I've used Siri about a dozen times. There is nothing more annoying than asking that stupid device to call someone (as you are driving) and it calling someone else instead, which happened to me once too often!

Gotta agree with Mrs F Siri is like one of the most annoying inventions ever, it drives me nuts whenever I've tried to use it as it doesn't understand me (that's like people really, but I expect that  :P) because I've got quite a thick accent where most words sound like there's a "R" in them even if there's not.  :D :D
Even when I've asked like some of the simplest questions like "What is a Joey?" (yes, I do know what a Joey is but wanted to try a question with no "R's" in to see if it made a difference  :P :P)  it randomly told me where the nearest train station was.  :o : >:( >:( :D :D

Seriously couldn't agree more.  :)
The emotions you experience with Dusty just solidifies that it's a brilliantly written piece of work, as whenever you read anything you wanna feel something even if it's just annoyance with the characters and Dusty does this and much more.  ;D ;D

Hi Everyone!  I'm new to this and just looking for some recommendations for stories with really hot lemons.
I was re-reading some of the entries from the Dirty Talkin' Edward Contest and need more lemony stories, does anyone know any good stories that have lemons as detailed and hot as the ones from the contest?
Thanks A lot! :)

By the way ladies.  Siri is an actual person who lent her voice to the device.   Her kids won't use one with her voice on it because they feel like they are being harassed by their mother.

I'm not sure that can be right as in the UK Siri is a man...or i should say, a man's voice.... You can change it to the US version which is a woman's but then it  works even less efficiently as it can't pick up British pronunciations....yes, I tried it. The only time Siri comes in handy is in iMaps to give directions when driving in a foreign country, though it's Italian accent is appalling! [emoji39]

Yeah - you're right - it is a man in the UK - but I can't remember his name at the moment.  I'll have to find the article I posted on InDeath.net when we had the discussion over there.

I was going to copy/paste all the fics in Planetblue's Awesome Fic List but it seems that we can't copy from ffnet!   Boo.
You can copy and paste from the mobile version of ffnet.  Just click on the thing that looks like a battery up in the top left corner.  ;)

LOL! That reminds me of the Siri episode of Big Bang Theory.  I guess Kripke doesn't realize he has a speech impediment.

I could never get myself to use siri when I had an iPhone.  I'm just not the talkitive type I guess...  And I find it annoying to hear everyone else's conversations every where I go.... I swear people don't realize we hear everyword of their conversation.  Yet if you respond to what they say, they look at you like you're the weird one.  No, I'm just walking around talking to the invisible people surrounding me...  LOL! Sorry, early morning rant.

But I did wonder if Siri would work with the Read to Me on Kindle.

Lol, that was a great episode TBBT. [emoji1]
I've gotta admit I do sometimes forget that others can hear what I'm saying on the phone, like the time (okay one of many) I was having phone sex (read:me talking dirty and him at home/work getting busy) with the hubby while I was shopping in the supermarket it wasn't until a member of staff turned around and told me that he wished his g/f would do that as it was hot, [emoji5]️[emoji13][emoji13]

At least he didn't think you were talking to him!

That's actually what I would find annoying.  People on bluetooth look at you and ask a question then give you a "Are you crazy?" look when you answer because you didn't realize they weren't actually talking to you.   :021: :021:

Siri is an app in an apple product, haven't used it:

Siri on Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch lets you use your voice to send messages, make calls, set reminders, and more.

I assumed it was an apple app.  I avoid apple products other than my ipod.

Happy to be part of your morning wake up call.

Dusty is very far from the norm.  I think that's one of the things that makes it a good candidate for publication.  No one will recognize these characters as Twilight characters.  Although, these writers are fairly consistent in being different from your typical Twiilight fanfic and characters.  I would say they have their stories and have just randomly used Twilight fanfic as a vehicle for their stories without tying themselves to the Twilight universe.

Welcome to PTS and kudos for asking for recommendations on the correct thread.

For lemony stories, try The Office by tby789; Grasping Darkness or The Screamers by kiyaraven; one of the lolashoes stories (it's a trilogy and I can't remember which one is first); a personal favorite is Last Tango in Forks by awesomesauce76.

For tby789, lolashoes and awesomesauce76  - see the Index of uploaded Twilight stories, link is in my signature.
Kiyaraven stories are still on ffn.
