Regarding Kristen, there was a breakthrough from the Robsten addict on my end - she finally saw Snow White and the Huntsman on Netflix.  So - I asked how the movie was - she said great.   I'm a glutton for punishment and asked how Kristen was in it - I almost fell off the bed when she said "Horrible".  She's supposed to be good in Camp X-Ray.  However, her reputation precedes her.  The movie currently is only open in 7 theaters and has made approximately $10,000 - its been out for I think 4 weeks.   Not an auspicious beginning.   She's evidently getting good reviews in Still Alice with Julianne Moore.  Time will tell.  The movie is due out sometime before Christmas I think.

I did like Snow White, its one of the better ones... But, ehhh.. from previews of her newest releases seems like the same old Kristen!
Oh dang!!! $10,000??? Ouch! I'm not sure how that compares with other such limited releases though.

The book is from Amazon...So would youu both suggest I reinstall the deDRM tool? (is that what you meant Ella? That it works for about 20 books and then you have to reinstall?) I have to tell you I can barely remember how I got to download, install and work in the first place!  :D I'll give it a go but I'm dreading it just in thought.....

I have it downloaded and I'm about to start it....I'm nervous because it's rare that Good Book Apple falls from the same tree twice...

And how to get ghetto... :sign0004: :sign0004:
Oh gosh no! LOL!  I've had best luck downloading to my Kindle, then plugging it into the computer and adding from there. But adding more than 20 at a time usually causes problems.  I've had mixed results removing DRM from books downloaded to my kindle app on my computer.

Like Loopy, I rarely update Calibre. And where you download the latest version, there is a link to older versions.  I make sure it's new enough to support my current plugins but not much newer than that. ;)

I feel you hun, as that's such a PITA converting that way.
I think that's why I rarely update as I don't wanna screw up a system that I know works for me.

Mrs F I forgot to ask have you tried converting through the kindle unpack plugin on Calibre as sometimes that works best for converting when Calibre is being screwy. [emoji20]

I've only made it to book 2 of the Record Trilogy even though I did buy book 3 this morning, so wanna see how this series ends.
Have you read her Avoid series - another good read, even if the main characters are annoying as hell.  :D :D
I've had the Avoid series on my TBR for a while now.    Guess I'll be adding the Record series too. :-)

Btw I think I've given up trying to read the Sheik Retold.   It's not all that good.    Started reading the last All Souls book and it's off to a great start!

I don't have a kindle so have to use the Kindle app on my mac...the first time I tried it worked amazing I must have converted around 85 books that I'd had on the app but not in my Calibre..... I tried to do one silly little book today and no luck!!!!

I can't upgrade my Calibre any further because my Powerbook is too old, or something apparently  :o

I'm not loving Avoided as much s Recorded and let me just say that Recorded is good for that genre of book/author, OK? So don't go in there expecting Fisher or Harkness or anything of the sort, OK? You'll be disappointed.  ;D

I personally think her acting is not good... She doesn't have any depth! She brings the same stuttering awkward personality to every character. I've seen most of her movies, and IMO  its the same person, with different lines, in a different environment.

OMG!! That pic is awesome!  :D

My kiddies are both in school, one part time and one full time, so I get a bit of a break  Its not too terrible but I almost feel like I need to get as much done as possible before I do "pick ups" so that my brain doesn't explode.

*ahahahahah!! I completely feel ya on that one

I see what you are saying, but I think that may be her playing the same character type. I mean that is what her Twilight character and Snow White characters were and what they called for. I haven't see her newer stuff yet. In the army one and the Alice one it's said that she did very well in them.

I have seen Snow White and the Huntsman and both my hubby and I enjoyed it and like her in it. Camp  X-Ray, I am not a fan of war movies so I have be honest and say that I won't likely watch this one.

Even not counting the Twilight movies, she's still the same. All the indie films bring the same person. I always give her movies a go, because I can't help my self, and always have the same feeling at the end... "Eh". SWATH was probably her best IMO, and I loved Welcome to the Rileys but only b/c I FLOVED James Gandolfini.  :)

I'm sure I'll see her new ones too, because, once again, I can't help myself  :P :P :P

EDIT: Maybe I'm a critical B*TCH... LOL

Onebitelover (or anyone else for that matter) - remind me at some point later today to post the grosses for a few of Kristen's movies - taken from Box Office Mojo.  On another note (and yeah - I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep so I came on line for awhile):  USA Today evidently did an interview with twigs.   Gossip Cop has printed part of it (shown below) regarding her relationship with Rob.

FKA Twigs: Robert Pattinson Relationship “Worth It” Despite “14-Year-Old” Haters

By Shari Weiss | 10:55 pm, November 18th, 2014

FKA Twigs is not going to let haters get in the way of her relationship with Robert Pattinson. In a new interview with USA Today, the singer says her happiness with the actor far outweighs some online negativity.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Twigs was bombarded with vile, racist comments on social media after her romance with Pattinson went public. She responded at the time by tweeting, “I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week. Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it’s unacceptable online.”

Unfortunately, a lot of the hateful remarks have continued, and at times have seemed to only increase, as Pattinson and Twigs show PDA in front of paparazzi throughout Europe, parts of Canada, and New York City. The British performer now admits to USA Today that the cruel comments have made her use her own social media accounts less, as she faces the uncontrollable wrath of “14-year-old kids that should be in bed.”

“I really enjoy the fun of putting something out and people liking it or hating it or talking about it, but vacuous attention, it feels disgusting. It’s like a hangover,” Twigs tells the paper. “It’s weird, I know that’s not really because of me or what I’m doing.” She stresses, “The positivity that I get from [my relationship] makes the more challenging aspects… very worth it.”

Twigs knows she’s under an ever-growing spotlight, as both her professional and personal lives blossom. And, as a female, she thinks she has it harder than her male counterparts. “Being beautiful isn’t everything… Sometimes it’s interesting to show how you feel on the inside on the outside, just through expressing yourself,” says the star.

“Sometimes I look at someone like James Blake, and I kind of envy the fact that he’s a 6-2 English guy and no one will say he’s changed his T-shirt from black to blue. People will only talk about his music,” says Twigs. Still, it’s understandable why fans are also interested in Twigs and Pattinson’s relationship. Gossip Cop just hopes people will also be respectful of it as well.

So I'm reading Groupie. God its a trainwreck! This is definitely a punch someone hard kinda read, DRAMA!  I'd recommend it to AngstHoors simply because it's the epitome of what this genre is all about. Is it well written? Not particularly. Is the plot new and non-cliché? Nope, you seen and read it all before. But it wrings out such strong emotions from the reader I had to come on here and type to use some of excess energy left over at the end of the first book! Loops I noticed you gave it 5* on Goodreads, I don't blame you, it gets a 5* just for pissing me off!  >:( :P :D

I remember thinking it was angsty for the sake of it, like you said hun it was just a complete dramafest.
None of the main characters were likeable, there were a few moments where I couldn't help but get a tad emosh.  ^-^

Hi guys! Work has been the pits. Stressed out. Not sure how things will pan out...  :(

To catch up a bit

Ella - sending you hugs and kisses.  I have remembered to pray for you these past few weeks. Glad to hear the surgery went well. Hope you have a speedy recovery!  :-*

Loopy - soon to be a grandma! Wow! Good luck and i hope your daughter has an easy pregnancy.  :)

Eacalltheway- did not have that problem when i upgraded my ios. My "fix" if my ipad hangs or has some weird things happening is to completely power off/shut down. My absolute worst was i had to restore but since i back up/sync with my PC at least once a month, the restoration was not that painful. Hope your ipad goes back to normal.

To the angst hoors, keep on rockin'! Am sure your tribe will increase  :) but am still a weakling and with all the stress i am in now, soooo not touching any of those books  :-\

M/M, am a fan. Have not read that many of those (36 per my goodreads library) but i am lucky to have been pointed to the good ones by Matron. It's not all about the sex like the last series i read by Marie Sexton is more about their relationships. I enjoyed it. My absolute favorite is Crossing Borders by Z.A. Maxfield. Highly rec this, has such memorable snarky dialogues.

Rob's hair - not a fan. Saw his bit at the Hollywood Award show, he's really not comfortable presenting. He looked good though despite the hair and attitude. Saw flashes of kstew, she is really a pretty girl IMO.

Gideon Cross - love love love! Hate that it extended to 5 books. Am just 262 pages in of book 4, was truly tempted to call in sick today so i can finish it.  :P agree, all of these seem "unnecessary" but more gideon is ok with me.

Hiya Booked how r u?  Glad to see you back even if it is to just pop in for a bit.  Hope all is well.
