Hey all you calibre experts out there! I need some help. I'm getting a new laptop, it should be here in a few days, and I need to know the best way to get my Calibre libraries from this laptop to the new one.I have most stuff saving right to my Dropbox account, with Twific still in Google Drive. Is there anything in particular that needs to be done? Any tips or hints to get the metadata to save?
If you can fit your whole library onto Dropbox, it is one of the cloud storages that does work with Calibre. Otherwise I would recommend setting up an account with You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. load it on your current computer, copy your libraries into the copy folder (copy the whole Calibre library folder as is), and sync to their servers. Then on your new computer, you can put copy on it and let it sync. Otherwise, I would just copy the Calibre folder to an external drive or sd card and move it that way. Either way, once you move it onto your new computer, you just have to point Calibre in the direction of your already existing libraries. Just don't use Google Drive to do it. Google renames the files and messes up the database. When it happened to me i was able to get most of it back. I did lose a few stories. Fortunately, they weren't ones I planned on reading.
First, I have to shout "I'm reading a fic!!!!!" This fic is started in 2010 and recently completed, in the AN the author mentioned a random compilation she was writing a O/S for and, because my fic magpie tendencies have not dimensioned in the months since I read one, I decided to investigate (the author didn't give the compilation's name ) and after scouting away from 15 minutes there it was in FFG's amazing index; what the F*ck did we do before we had that? FFG, a big to you!
I've been working too hard and not keeping up here, but I'm glad I came back to check in. The pat on the back is like a great big hug! Thanks for taking the time Demaris! Glad I could help.
Has anyone read any of her stories? She is closing her FF account and I was curious if they were worth saving. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Hey everyone!I'm looking for Christmas twilight fic one-shorts - with that special warm atmoshere. Could you advise me twifics you re-read every year in this period of time? I would reallly grateful
I don't have anything I go back to for Christmas reading, but there is a one shot challenge going on for Christmas, as there usually is. This year it's the Mistletoe Contest. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I've been reading this
Are the stories any good?
I'd describe them as "cute" Nice and fluffy!
Not one for 'Christmas' stories as such but one of my favourite stories, full stop, just happen to be Patty Rose's The Twelve Days of Christmas. Read this twice; there are not many fics I've bothered to read more than once, even those in my top 20....You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
