Ouch! Hello, banker in the house! But am far from your typical banker, as you can already surmise after all these years of my yakking here. 

I just got a silly yet exciting thought, has Mr. P.A. ever been to the Philippines? I get to meet a lot of foreign bankers. Maybe i actually met him before!   

Damn it, now i'm gonna be thinking if any british banker i meet is him....while trying to verify by way of the bulge in his crotch  oh yeah, way to lose my job.

Woops! You know I love ya FFG! City/investment banker have the worse rep here since 2008 due the the financial melt down... But I'm not tarring all bankers with the same brush, not all are wankers, just this particular bunch! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Luckily, I got out of banking way before any financial meltdowns during the late 20th or early 21st centuries.  And, I don't represent banks, either.

I don't think I can take potshots at journalists, it's like shooting fish in a barrel (at least the way US journalists act these days)!

I'm still totally appalled and terrified that Rush Limbaugh has come out with a series of children's books!  Although I shouldn't defame journalists by lumping him in with them.

Before I forget it entirely - Happy 2015 everybody!!   I'll just disappear now and go back to Gone Girl.  I'm about 2/3 of the way through it.

It's been pretty good so far. She's from Australia so I'm giving her leeway on the fact people seem to be able to travel from Forks to Seattle in minutes rather than hours. So I don't know why this is bothering me, but Edward wants to take Bella and her daughter to Paris for their honeymoon. The daughter is three. I'm thinking she doesn't have a passport and from the fact Bella just turned 20 and has probably not been out of the country either,  I really doubt she has one. But they are getting married in two weeks after deciding to move up the date. Yet no discussion on how long it takes to get a passport.  Okay then.  LOL!   Really not sure why it is bugging me. 

It bugs you because, like me, ya like an author to THINK before they write. But again it might be an Australian thing. Here you can get a passport in a day if you pay more and happen to live near a passport office, which considering there are only 7, spread throughout the UK, that takes luck. You drop your paperwork off in the morning and collect it in the afternoon, maybe it's the same in Australia?

Ella, I know that here you can pay extra and get a new passport app expedited so that it comes within 2 weeks rather than the standard 6-8. Maybe it is the same over there? The one wrinkle that I can think of is that her daughter's father would have to sign off on the passport app agreeing to the child being taken out of the country. My co-worker just went through this for her daughter to get her passport.

Wouldn't that depend on whether his name was on the birth certificate? And even then, once the passport is issued who's gonna check? Plenty of kids travel with just one parent?

Ya, I would think that it would depend on if the guy was listed or not. If he isn't then I guess you just put unknown in the father's information. I just know that here in Canada, my friend had to get her ex-boyfriend to sign off on the passport app.

It's different here in the US. My husband took the boys when they really young to get their passports and nothing was required of me. That was a long time ago tho' maybe things have changed since then.
Were the surnames of the parents different on the birth certificate in your friends case? If so, maybe that's why consent was needed.....who knows

I think I'm feeling really unloved.  I worked in banking for a couple of years before I became a lawyer.  I guess that's two black marks against me.  I don't feel boring, but I do hang out with a bunch of other lawyers when I'm not hanging out here.

I've never hung out with bankers (well not that type anyway  ) but I hooked up with a lawyer for a couple w/ends when I was single and hung out with him and some of his work colleagues and they were definitely among some of the craziest and fun-est peeps I've ever been out with.
