I didn't think Abbi's series was that bad but I know Mrs F thought they were pretty bad/awful. 

Yeah, I kinda hated them.....the ones I read were the Too Far series, load of nonsense. And if that wasn't bad enough I then clicked on the author's profile and noticed she'd tried to change her appearance to match her heroine and I gave up even trying to take her seriously. 

I really liked Wallbanger! I think I read the published version rather than the fic though.   

I quite liked Wallbanger, it was pretty sharply written; I've not read the P2P version.

For anyone who is interested, Killian McRae's 12/21/2012 is available for free as a Kindle download on Amazon for at least today.  I think it was a fan fiction with the same name by DaniNavy?  I just remember it was a P2P.

....Hmmm? I'm not sure I blame authors for refusing to have ff written of their work....I don't know, I can see both sides of the argument and I think I'd coming down 60-40 on the side of authors; if you look at it as possession being 9/10th of the law. 

I've had this on my TBR and iPad for ages and still not got around to reading either the FF (by Hopeful Wager) or the OF. 

I'll try and get to reading one version of it soon. 

Loopy, does that mean you have a copy of the fanfic version by hopefulwager?  You know that's one we're still looking for, right?

You ladies know how I hate spoilers, right? Well a MoFo on the BBC just gave the bloody plot away of Gone Girl...I've been working myself through Gillian Flynn's back catalogue before reading it...I want to strangle him!

Hate it when peeps do that, not read the book but watched the film and it was so good, apparently they only changed the ending otherwise it was like for like from book to screen but I wanna read it to find out how the book ends.

I gave him what for on Twitter and he sheepishly admitted he hasn't read the book just repeated what others had said!! God only know how much the Beeb is paying him for that kind of shoddy journalism.

I didn't really have a problem with not allowing fanfics. Frankly, I think it is a good thing in that it keeps fans still into your stories and continuing to buy each new one. Although Nora does seem to write fairly quickly.   What I have a problem with is the trying to control the fanfic subjects and what readers say about your stories to the point you now disallow what was previously allowed.  What happens to the readers who were in the middle of a story and have to finish what they start? Allow it or don't allow it, but don't change your mind without warning. It is not polite to your readers. 

It's not a big deal to me. I didn't really get into Nora's stories. So I won't miss the fanfics. I may try again when I don't have so much going on.

Better yet, send ruthhazelton a PM.  I haven't read the book or seen the movie. 

FFG, honestly I am so pissed off! You'd think this Beeb Bod would know better, wouldn't you? He does the book review everyweek! He apologised but I told him to go back and edit as his show repeats throughout the weekend and he may spoil it for others who catch it.

Oh, yes, I agree. If you've given the go-ahead then shut up and let them get on with it. Even if I was going to ever read Nora FF, now I'd rather poke my eye out first....

Thank you New Moon - Collide is the other Amish fic that I'd seen mentioned but I don't remember where - it might have been on Find A Fic forum on Twilighted.    Its okay guys - I've been offline which is why I didn't respond to demaris and thank you Loopy for your pm.   Ella - any fanfics that were on InDeath.net that were unfinished have remained unfinished.   We are having a problem with the author who was the last straw that broke the camel's back as far as Nora was concerned (actually we figured Nora/Laura were looking for a reason to shut us down and the offending party obliged).  The author came back and did a post - very disrespectful of Nora I might add (I think she's a control freak but that doesn't entitle someone to come on the board and insult her) saying she was taking her fic elsewhere to post as there were plenty of other sites on the net.   We started getting complaints from members sending messages to us on the moderator control panel and we deleted the post.  The girl is an idiot - Laura (Nora's publicist) is a member - saying you are taking your InDeath fic elsewhere is like putting a target on your back just begging for Nora and her lawyer to come looking for you since InDeath fanfics can't be put up anywhere now.   We figured we'd nipped the problem in the bud but the idiot came back and posted again still being insulting and saying she was going to another site.  We gave up and left it up but closed the thread she posted on to avoid everyone responding to her negatively.
