RDM!  We've missed you so!  Glad your son is healed.  Wishing only the best for the enlisted son.  Been through the gallbladder thing, only I was six months pregnant at the time.  Not a good outcome, but it was a long time ago (18 years this past Thanksgiving).  I hope your 2015 is much better.

You can definately steal my gif.  You may see it on a number of folks' siggies.  Loopy had it on hers and when she traded it out, some of us begged to have it.  Loopy is generous and the rest of us don't mind seeing it as much as possible.

Hope to see more of you (and some of your delicious eye candy).

Well watching that TV series lead me to the books cause I was yearning for more Jamie and I dinna want to wait for spring.  >:D

I read Book 1 and then I am 1/2 in on book 2 and well...... I am almost DNF (MY FIRST). I mean the the books are like 800 page books EACH (8 published - 1 more to come), and it seriously needs editing and I googled and read where she will not allow her books to be edited.

Now, she doesn't write bad at all. Very good at helping you visualize. My problem with them is that is takes 50 pages to describe say...a fart.... and that greatly hinders propelling the plot forward. I am definitely liking the TV better than the books.

As far as ff goes. Wasn't there more kiltwards? Catcher in the Rye or something like that?

I've 'read' all of the Outlander books.  I got around the wordiness by listening to them.  I read the first one, then rented the rest on audio - but I've done that as they came out over the years.  When I started, there were only three books.  I recently re-read the first one as I watched the shows.  There was lots of dialogue they took straight from the book.  I can hardly wait for more shows.  Jamie is yummy!

I read all 8 Outlander books in about a month last summer. I 'inhaled' them, I loved them so much; and, for my sins, I'm re-reading some of them again at the moment, I shouldn't as I've set myself a Read 200 Books This Year challenge and time is-a-moving, but I was tidying my iPad, came across Dragonfly in Amber, and the rest is history, as they say.  :D

The Rain Season was one of the first fic I read, it holds a treasured space in my heart, (alongside The Tutor) and I was just thinking of it earlier this evening as I was listening to Storm by Lifehouse, it features in that fic. It's unbelievable how much music I have been introduced to by one fic or another, I will always be grateful to Twifics for that.

The Kiltward fic you mean is Coming Through The Rye by Mac214 and there's also The Selkie Man by DarkBlueBella, can't remember if its Kiltward but its set in Scotland. I've read both, neither are brilliant, but they might steam the bleeding while waiting for April.  ;D

First off Ladies - I hope everyone's Christmas and New Year are going well !
Let's catch you up as to my 2014 year.

I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I promise. Most of you remember my youngest son (20) was in a terrible car accident and hospitalized for almost a month and then we had rehab. I am glad to tell you he is back at the university and walking without an aid of a wheelchair, walker, or cane.

Oldest son joined the military after he graduated college and he completed his training in the military and has moved completely away. *pouts*

Then came the busy holiday time.

I started have pains around November and after investigation it was my gallbladder. I had that sucker removed 2 weeks ago.

Hubs and I celebrated New Years at home with one wish. It was better than 2014.

I so missed talking with everyone. I missed what to read next....... I want a gooooood outlander fic/book. The show sucked me right in, but the books......just not my cup of tea. They are wordy. I mean 50-100 chp on stuff that doesn't move the plot.

What new fics out there to read....etc.

I am having withdrawals !

BTW: Booked can you do that great summary thing to catch me up on what I have missed?

hmmmm all my pics are gone in my siggy.

iWOW First DD,  Now RD  all we need is for Astro and Savanblue to come back.  How are you guys doing  Welcome Back   :-*

I agree hun, I thought she would of pulled PoF at least ages ago.  :)From what she tweeted, I get the feeling that she had no choice but to pull them but who knows she could of just choose to pull all of them so she could publish them all at some point.

I had most of her fics but like you, d/l'd the rest so I've got them.  :)

Is she pulling the in-completes too? I was looking forward to reading Dancing In The Dark... :(

Lol, I'd love to read someone try and explain a fart in 50 pages.  :P :P :D :D
Both of these are Kiltwards: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login (this is a O/S) I've not read either but they're on my TBR.  :)

I  might have exaggerated, but just a little. IT TAKES FOREVER to get somewhere. Maybe I am just toooo hyper for these books, but there are so many things I adore of Jamie, but getting to his good parts take to long (pun intended). ..... Of course you all know that visuals were always my thing and the TV helped.

I agree. For what it's worth on Twitter she mentioned that Pound of Flesh is the only thing she is publishing, but I bet it's strictly a PR move.

Hmmm...I do get what you mean but I'm totally the opposite I'm afraid; if an author can write then the more words the better, I wallow around in all the words as happy as a pig in  :poo: ( I've been using this emocion a lot tonight  :D :D)

I've missed your Tumbler RDM! I watched some of the scenes The Garrison Commander episode of Outlander from behind my hands. Qué horror!

Is this the first time you've read DIA? In which case, yes I get it; and when I think of it? Hmmmm? *thinking*....I agree; there is a lot of information which in the grand scale of things does little for plot momentum. But it does everything for building up the fabric/foundation of their relationship. Which, when you move on to the later part of the book and then Voyager, the solidity of their relationship is needed to makes the rest (6 books) believable. I better postscript all this by saying:- IMO!  :D

OMG. Now maybe if this website had audiobooks that I could listen from my ipad and I could hear those things that Jamie says in that accent, THAT would be great.

I watched the first episodes, saw the trailers and then I dinna wait for April, sooooo I started reading.
