I'm re-reading The Screamers, even though I only read a few months a go.
And because of it, this has been on my mind all day - it's probably skits ever.  :D

I'm reading Out of Her Head by 1blue25.  So far so good.  Not many SPaG errors.  A little angsty, but not bad so far.  And for a third person story, I'm not feeling the need to flounce.  The third person stories usually drive me crazy quickly, but this has been good. If that makes any sense.

Have you read KA's other books?  I love everything I've read by her.  I love, love, love Knight, also by Kristen Ashley.  Have you read that one?
I just finished reading this based on your rec, SO good! Will have to read more of her work as this was great. I felt the dialogue was strange in places, but Knight made up for it. Thanks for sharing! (even if it wasn't with me ;))

It took me awhile to get used to the way the characters spoke, but eventually I got the rhythm of the dialogue.  She's come out with the next one in this series "Creed," but I haven't read it yet.  The problem is, once I start reading Kristen Ashley, I find it impossible to tear myself away to do anything else.  I need to wait until I have a block of time to myself.

Glad you liked Knight.  Wait til you read the Rock Chick Series!

You're welcome.  I finished it this morning and have moved on to Nineteen Canvasses which I am also liking so far.  It is by Carson1 & has been on my TBR list forever.  I will slowly get through all of them.  ;D

I wouldn't have continued reading after that.

I hate it when authors use those names, especially when it is in general conversation.  If any of my friends called me that, they wouldn't be my friends any longer!

It's like the C and T words - there's no need.

Ummm - what's the "T" word? I have gone through my (extensive) vocabulary of nasty names and the only ones I can come up with it are Twit and Tit!

If it's as bad as the 2 "C" words that spring to mind (one rhymes with hunt, the other is a male rooster), then PM me - so I know not to ever call you that!

Take Twit and change the "i" to an "a" and I believe you'll have the T word.

Happy Easter everyone! I hope the bunny was generous!

I just came home from a night away that became 2 nights away and I needed some retail therapy - it can be depressing coming home after a great weekend with friends.

I have no chocolate, but I do have a new Nespresso machine, solar lights for my garden (a cheaper alternative to night vision goggles for SNB watching?) and an Instyler - although I fear this:

Mod Edit ~ Hotlink Image removed

I also have a rather large Mastercard bill  :(. This is what happens when shops open on Easter Sunday, for the first time EVER!

Number 18 still kills me. It's like a f*cked up Dr. Seuss rhyme.

Thanks for posting this! I'm so glad that my phone is not the only 11 year old boy!

I went to my sons parent evening the other night.  In his history book there is a picture of an old bed-warmer, you know the stone cylindrical one with the screw topper?  The question asked what is this and what is it used for?  He answered it is a beer bottle for drinking beer - oh the shame!

I really want to adopt your son!

Bugger it - I'll take the entire family! :-*

Really??? That's as offensive as the C word???

I thought it was like calling someone an ass! I've been calling people this for years and no one has ever said anything - or been offended!

I'm really hoping it's another one of those different country things - it means one thing here in Oz and something else overseas.

The Easter Bunny was good to me. I got Turkish Delight this year in place of chocolate. So I'll be ill for a few weeks to come. Everyone has leant not to give me chocolate, it just goes bad in the cupboard until someone notices it's still there around November...

We didn't go to Church this year so no egg hunt though. Grandpa called on Thursday and asked if we were going to go, I informed him we were not as mum had already let me know she wasn't going; "Oh well, it's all a bid morbid really..." yes mum, I do believe that is supposed to be the point of Easter, a celebration of life and death... oh well, it means I got to sleep in.

Haha, as for the shops being open, I'm pretty sure it's still illegal for shops to open here on Good Friday, but some were open today for a few hours. Yay for enforced public holiday, nay for the fact that it's still the only day of the year that we inevitably absolutely HAVE to go to the supermarket; this year the boys finished all the milk and all we had in the fridge were some carrots and mouldy pumpkin and nothing is open... 2 plums and a shortbread biscuit for dinner later I was cursing those bastards.

That is what I thought. I'm pretty sure it's considered a pretty benign word here, if you asked I think many people wouldn't even consider it a 'true' swear word. Around the more bogan parts of town I've heard mum's tell their kids not to be a "damn twat"...

But I agree, I hate it when they are overused in fics, and I like it even less when they are used as terms of endearment. Drives me nuts, I sometimes feel authors use it as a way to show 'solidarity' between characters without any actual character, relationship or plot development.

As I said above, not in Aus. It means that same thing (as in it's another word for certain female anatomy) but it is not considered so harsh or rude. I call people twats a fair bit too, no-one ever seems to be overly offended by it, most people here do use it interchangeably with arse. As I said, it's one many parents wouldn't think twice about saying in front of their kids here.

Thank you - I was starting to worry that maybe I am a dirty perv and I just don't know it!

I'd never use it as a term of endearment and I'd never call a child that, but I have used it when joking around with friends and someone says or does something funny/silly.

They both mean the same!  It must be a country thing - I can't believe this is used around children though.

Having said that, I had a pretty strict upbringing and don't swear in front of my parents even now, so, maybe it's a me thing!

So much for a relaxing weekend.

We had a wedding all day yesterday and I've woken up today already losing an hour due to the clocks going forward.   >:(

On top of that, we are off to the In Laws this afternoon for Easter dinner.

Do these people not realise I have stories to read and people to talk to??   :P
