I have just started Nicknames and Rumors by suitablyironicmoniker - has anyone read this?

I think I flounced it, though I can't remember why. Hopefully you'll get on better with it.

I'm currently read The Other Side of the Fence, and holy crap.. no-one told me how swoon-worthy this Edward is! I just got to the bit where , and I love it so far. Can't wait to see where it goes.

I agree with D D, all her fics have been good and I really enjoyed this one. 

It grabbed me from the first few paragraphs - I love it when a story does that and keeps your attention right to the end.

It's not a difference in language as much as it's Rickell being uptight

How do you feel about dirty talk?

It doesn't really do much for me, and I hate reading it in fics, especially when it's derogatory or "submissive".

And "Oh baby, you suck my balls so good" is NOT romantic!

I wouldn't mind it in English. But in my language? It sucks balls.  pun intended.

I watched You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for a long time - it was highly rec'ed, very popular, promoted in a lot of other fics, but then it just stopped.

Has anyone read it? Is it worth starting - I mean does it finish at a finishable place?

How do you feel about dirty talk?

It doesn't really do much for me, and I hate reading it in fics, especially when it's derogatory or "submissive".

And "Oh baby, you suck my balls so good" is NOT romantic!

When the story is definitely PWP or it fits in the context, I don't mind it. I hate it when it's obvious that the author just puts the dirty talk in the story because they think its hot or a must. Shy virgin Geekward? A big no to dirty talk! A couple that's confident in their sexlife and knows and trust each other? Why not!
I don't like it when it really fells like it puts the girl down and is respectless, just to show how "manly" the guy is. Often I think it's used much more in fics where it seems that the writer is not very experienced personally in that topic. When little 13yo girls try to write lemons, they seem to get overboard and at the moment lemons seems to have to be at least borderline kinky, D/s ... No lovemaking anymore, no worshipping, gentleness... just f*ing. That's a shame in my opinion. Sex can be beautiful, hot, erotic without all the kink and I hope writers come back to that.
(doesn't mean that I don't like reading kink, I just like to read "normal" love more!)

Personally, my hubs would sleep on the couch if he would ever try to talk to me like that! That's just not us and after 14 years and 3 kids we know what we like 

My parents emailed me some pictures from Good Friday - they had my sister and brother and their families as well as my aunts and uncle over to watch the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race - it goes right past their front veranda.



My nieces and nephews had an egg and spoon race...in the pool!!

Dirty talk makes me laugh and roll my eyes.       Although it doesn't really bother me in fiction unless it's just cursing.
