So, I've had an awful day due to stupidly replacing an heavily modified & edited piece of work with an older version. Not even my techie boyfriend could recover the improved one so I had to start all over again. Tears ensued!

That is why 'puters are evil!

I lost an entire 5000 assignment once - at 4:00am on the day it was due in by 9:00am. I went to make a cup of tea to drink while I proof read before I went to bed, came back to see the "Do you want to save? message and clicked no, only to have the computer shut down and restart with nothing but the title page! I had to go to work so I had 2 hours sleep, went to work and spent the weekend re-doing the assignment and submitted it late, knowing that the penalty was that I could only be graded to a B. The second "draft" was so much better than the first!

I got an A on that assignment, and never felt guilty enough to question it with the lecturer.

You'd think I would have learnt then not to leave things to the last minute, but 18 years later and I still do it.

I haven't read Insatiable Desires (the fic that prompted your comment) because it is a WIP.

And on ADF, everyone seems to jump on whatever bandwagon is rolling by.

The politically correct one. Even tho they are all perving for a guy 20/30 years older than them.

Edit: I tried to read it, as I do read wips, but I hate the sex addict storyline. Not to mention that he is 17. A 17 yo with more experience than me in all my past lives combined.

I'm hoping you mean that they are all perving on a guy younger than them. Because if people are perving on Rob, and he is 20 years older than them, then that just makes me feel really old!!! And dirty!!!

Itzmegan has a lovely way of developing her characters and telling a story. I can't comment on this one (because of my WIPhobia) but I really loved her other fics - and I did read them as WIPs, back in the day. It would be interesting to see if they stand up to being read in a completed state - I strongly believe that many fics are "better" as a WIP.

Does that make sense?

It's like a soapie on TV - you'd sit down and watch a 42 minute show each week for 12 weeks, but there is no way you'd sit through it all in one go, or go see the movie.

How do I feel about dirty talk? Uh.. you did read Nothing to Declare, right?

That brings me back to my question about dirty talk. What you have in "Nothing To Declare", and innuendo (as Loopy mentioned) isn't dirty talk to me.

To me, dirty talk is the nasty, derogatory talk during sex that you see in some fics - most often BDSM fics, but it is creeping into more and more fics. It's not the same as saying how you feel or what you want during the act. It's putting people down, making them sound like a cheap whore.

Maybe I should try posting in German or Portuguese because I am really having trouble explaining myself today!

I'm almost hesitant to ask, but do you have a fic that contains an example? I'm struggling to see the difference between the two - intention, maybe?
