Hi everyone!!! :)
Finally back from holidays! Here Easter takes away a lot of time! We start celebrating from the thursday before easter, with town celebration...and we go on until Monday! (What do you usually do on monday after easter?? We make a picnic in the countryside and stay until sunset!)
I'm at least 10 pages late! And late also for my best wishes for Easter! :-[

Hi Peonie,
For Australians, Easter is a 4 day weekend, so there is lots of camping, beach-going, barbecues and catching up with friends and family. While it is losing its religious significance, many Aussies do still go to church on Easter Sunday. For the first time that I am aware, shops were open on Easter Sunday, so my credit card took a battering. I was amazed at how busy Bunnings  (our version maybe of Home Depo?) was, but I guess a 4 day weekend is also a good opportunity to do things around the house and yard.

I spent the weekend with friends, eating fantastic Australian seafood and drinking far too much, so for me, Monday was a day to recover and detox. I spent some time in the garden (sadly, my sexy neighbour boy wasn't home) and then spent today nursing sunburn.

It's still very hot here and while Easter sometimes brings the start of the cooler weather, it didn't this year.

My youngest was utterly disappointed with Easter. There was nowhere a bunny! :D
I still wish there was no snow outside... Shouldn't it be springtime now?  :-\

No bunnies found me either - Easter or otherwise, but we did see a mob (yes - that's the proper collective noun) of about 20 kangaroos. Even though it's a fairly common occurrence to see a 'roo, it is exciting to see that many, but frustrating too for those in the agricultural industry - they eat all the grass and will destroy a crop if they get into it!

I'm in the same dilemma with another story. I loved the first part but the summary of the sequel just sets me off, can't read it! They are so happy in the end of the first part, don't want them to have more problems...  :)

Wow, I'd love to see that, I've only ever seen kangaroos in the zoo and they are so funny there!

  • I never knew daylight could be so violent.
WOW! So many pages to catch up with...

Best (and awfully late!) wishes for Easter to everyone! Easter in Greece doesn't come until May 5 this year, so my holidays seem so far away. At least I'm planning a nice little trip to Florence for mid-April. I'm so excited that I've almost packed :P
Life has been pretty tough lately. I lost a dear friend really unexpectedly and things seemed pretty gloomy for a while. Thank God for all these great people around me that helped cheer me up.
I also moved to a different appartment. It is tiny but closer to friends and work. Also, it is purple and has HUGE windows and a terrace (that is probably bigger that the appertment itself). It was love at first sight ;)
Uni is going alright, I've lost much of my enthusiasm over it lately, but I will start studying again sometime soon. Just not now :P
All in all, things are getting better. March was an awful month, I didn't even get to celebrate my 21st birthday...

Anything interesting happening while I was gone?
I hope everyone had a great holiday and will have a great April! :-*

PS1: I got the coolest new tattoo: 3 tiny fish under my left ear. Subtle and meaningful ;)
PS2: I miss this forum so much, but it is literally like I have no free time any more... :(

Wow, I'd love to see that, I've only ever seen kangaroos in the zoo and they are so funny there!

They are not funny if you hit them in the car - they can totally destroy a vehicle! Even the little ones can do a lot of damage. And they come out at dusk, and then jump towards a car's headlights, so you always have to be really careful driving at night.

Fortunately, we were sitting outside having a few drinks, so there was no need to worry  ;)

and they had an absolute ball feeding the kangaroos, although you need to watch them closely because they can get very aggressive - the roos and the kids!

Enjoy your trip to Florence and then your holiday in May, and we'll all be here whenever you get some time to check in.

Wow, that sounds so strange... hitting a kangaroo with your car...
My stepfather hit a horse once, that wasn't pretty... but fortunately both survived! Here you are more inclined to hit deer (hey, is that quote "deer in headlights" - "kangaroo in headlights" for you?  :D ).
And at the zoo my kids can feed and pet goats and chicken and pigs... and those goats are brutal!
Cute picture! :-*

LOL! No, we still say "deer in headlights" - they are a feral pest here. Roos actually jump towards the light, whereas deer freeze.

At my last school, we had problems with both deer and kangaroos coming into the school grounds and eating the plants and everything in the school vege garden. And we had a goat farm over behind the back of the school. Somedays there, I felt like Dr Doolittle!

We had a pretty quite Easter. No bunnies at home but at Sovereign Hill we had a bunny for Easter this year and it was/is-the-join-chat-button-a-part-of-stp so damn cute!

As for your snow, you can keep it. The longer you lot up there hang onto winter the longer summer hangs around here. I'm too in love with the warm weather to give it all up for winter just yet.

Yay! Hello! I'm sorry you haven't been around so much and about your friend; losing someone close is never easy. I know how you feel with Uni, it's killing me this year too, but at least you have a new and purple flat! My brother's favourite colour is purple, bless him.

You'll also have an awesome time in Florence. I love Florence. We had the most amazing time there, and it's so beautiful! They also have great food and that wicked bridge with all the jewellers that used to be butchers!

You should just celebrate your 21st a month late, you can't not celebrate your 21st! I had my party a couple of months after my real birthday, which funnily enough is this month! So I'm sure to have a great April!  :)

Also your tattoo sounds cool. I don't have any but I've been thinking about getting one, a little elephant, not sure where yet...maybe on the back of my neck, right up in my hairline.

Urgh. Don't get me started on the roos. They completely destroyed one of the boy's cars not long ago and once we ran over one on the way up to the Gold Coast and it got stuck under the engine and we dragged it almost all the way there before we noticed. Boy did it stink for ages, blasted things.

Your niece and nephews are so cute! As is the little wallaby. I do love the random NY cap there, haha.

I wasn't going to mention the stench that is a dead 'roo - I figured it couldn't be good for the tourist trade.

Please don't wish more summer on us! It is 9pm and I have the air con on! I am so ready for some cooler weather!

I have no idea why my nephew has the NY cap on! All of them are so cute but so totally random about everything! Mum said the other one (standing in the blue striped shirt) threw a massive tantrum that morning because he wanted to wear his gumboots to the zoo - it was 40C and not a cloud in the sky - and they almost had to wrestle him into his sandshoes!

You keep mentioning "the boys". Are they your brothers, or just boys that work where you live?

Your niece and nephews are really cute!!!
