Lol that's one expensive nail file. I'll only notice if the plot isn't really interesting otherwise if I've been sucked into the story line I wouldn't notice.
I'm reading Cullens Pride by maxigrumpling and though the story is interesting, she uses a lot of Australian terms that don't fit American vampires or teens.  So it keeps knocking me out of the story.  And things like Rosalie filing her nails.

I'm in the mood for Vampward, but it's hard to find a good one I haven't read.  Sigh.  ;D

I've not been here in a couple days and I've got so much to catch up on.
Thanks for the correction on Asda, Wmart not Tesco owned.
I loved the pics of Rob at some outdoorsy event. Once again, she is trying to hold hands, he is hiding his in his back pocket or fists clenched. Looks like he ran off and left her, not our boy, he would not do that to his lady, too much of a gentleman. It's gotta be some public appearance thing they have to do as someone suggested.
Thanks also for the recs. I've added 10 more to my tbr list.
I think we need to find our boy a GF. Who out there is a worthy candidate? I like Joss Stone, Colbie Caillat and Emma? HP. I always forget that girls name. Wait, is that a sign?
It's late, I'm tired and going to bed. I'm probably the only one on at this hour.
Happy birthday ladies.

Well I'm about to "out" myself. I've been really bored with the whole E/B thing (put your pitchforks away!). After reading a few real books I can't seem to get back into ff. I finished The Practicum but felt a little let down with that so I'm venturing into non-canon. *crouching into fetal position* will be starting Colliding Meteors tonight. I'll see how I go after that.

I started Geheime Vernietiging and am having a hard time with all the SPaG errors.  A lot of mistakes using I instead of me, us instead of we and vice versa.

Also, funny errors that make me laugh and ruin the flow of the story:

"Ma'am , your Kettle One martini." He smiled at me and I thanked him as he handed me my glass.
"Sir, you're Belvediere." ( ? really? Role playing!)

And
"She loved to attend the fashion week festivities and usually drug me along with her."

And as the story takes place in Manhattan it would be great if the author could spell it correctly!

Sorry, maybe it's the New Yorker in me. . .

I have literally thousands of books and fics on my iPad but now that I've finished This is who I am (which btw the 3rd epilogue made me cry
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
)

I now can't get into anything else and feel like having another cry, so I've decided to re-read Paper Cutouts as I loved this fic the first time round.

So, I just deleted mora than 10 profiles I was following on ff.net.

Half of them are quitting the fic world to publish, either p2p or original fic.

 :loudcry: :loudcry: :loudcry: :loudcry:

That's what I really resent about 50 shades.

Twi fic is now basically a test drive.  >:( >:(

I used to get annoyed about P2P, but now I don't think it's fair to judge someone without knowing their circumstances. If they believe that their story can make them money and improve their life in whichever way then that's their prerogative - I disagree with the notion that we're owed something just because someone publishes a story. What does concern me is when P2P authors publish a new story on FFn. I'd wonder if they're looking to test run their new book. I think if you P2P once, then you either strictly go into OF or you don't pull any more of your Twific stories. Constantly going through a cycle of writing fanfiction and then publishing it is parasitic, and a lot of the time these P2P stories fall flat because in actuality they're not that great. We love them because they're good, sure, but also because they share a Twilight affiliation. Remove that context and compare them to other books (and not the self-published, terrible kind) and they often can't stand up.

I just read the winner of the contest, el camino.
I highly disagree with that choice. While it is very well written, it didn't feel at all like a hea.
It actually left a very bitter taste in my mouth.

I'm going to read Lauren's now.

I do this a lot.  Sometimes a good story sucks you in so much to their universe, you don't want to leave. So I either reread it or read something I know is similar.

I'm funny - I have to have Bella and Edward, but I love mixing up the rest.  >:D

I don't mind the test drive, but that is why I won't read WIPs anymore.  Well, except those I get sucked into.

I agree with Lauren in that it is their right to P2P.  But really? Just because people love your story as a Bella/Edward twific? It doesn't mean it is well written enough to cost $15 for a paperback or that there is a story that will hold up with a change of characters.

I do love the authors who finish and give warning before pulling.  If it was good & I enjoyed it? I have no problem buying it.  Though I usually go for the ebook version.  Sometimes I think they need a "donate" button on FFnet or TWCS.  I really like a story?  I don't mind throwing a dollar to the writer. That's about what they will get when it gets published.  ;D

I was the same way. Once the story got going there was so many things going on with the plot getting deeper and deeper, I totally glossed over the SPaG. Or in my head I read it the correct way.

I am now 3-4 chp into the sequel. Note: the sequel starts off exactly where the epi ended. However it is a WIP.

I agree. There is an author, still active in the ff world that I have followed a very long time. She has only pulled 1-2 stories to publish. She mulled over with the idea for a very long time. She is a single mother also trying to take care of her very sick mother, with no help from her sisters. Times are tight, too tight. She wanted to test the waters to see if she could bring in extra income to help her and her mother's situation and asked her followers their opinion. We told her go for it !! She is still updating her wips. Now, after publishing 2 short fics, has a deal and is also writing original works.

There were several ff authors that published and still had their ff up. Of course the publisher eventually said they had to pull it. Some still post ff as well as books. It really doesn't bother me, heck I wish I had some of their talent. Then I could get paid to do something I love.

That being said, the two she pulled were complete, but I have been following wips before that were pulled and never published. I can honestly say that did hit a nerve. I mean we had no warning. No nothing. It was just gone and I was like a fish out of water. Just opening my mouth and closing.
