The Caged ending had me blubbing! Such a good story, though there were times when it was difficult to read because it was so angsty. Loved it.

I thought the same about Little Hell.  Was AU enough that even a non canon lover like me could appreciate it.  I have just finished You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login by 2amlovesick, another really good story.  There is only the epi left to come so it's OK for the WIP shy like me.  Have posted it on the "what are you reading" board if anyone wants the summary.

Heirs and Heirlooms by 2amlovesick just completed! She added the Epi today and now it's all done and marked complete. I've been wanting to read this one and it's good to see a thumbs up from you. I'm one of those (evil) WIP phobes haters, too many of them suck me in and then I'm left waiting for updates without even the assurance that it won't all come crashing down when the author goes AWOL on the fandom.

Family and this land is all Bella has ever known or needed. From family: she has love, security and knew her destiny. From the land: she knew it would sustain her so she studied, nurtured and worked it. Fate steps in, taking her parents and is now trying to take her land. How does she survive? AH Canon pairings. Death not canon or graphic. M for later. The Great Depression Era. HEA

In other news I'm procrastibaking a massive Coconut Cake for my linguistics honours cohort to snack on while we try not to kill ourselves on Monday; and I think I've put myself into a coconut pastry cream induced sugar coma. I had a few too many 'tastes' of it while I was making it this evening...I'm so bad like that. The cake has an Italian Meringue Icing which is even worse! I can't help but dip my fingers in and sample away, I end up having to wash my hands ever five seconds then sit in a sugar stupor for the rest of the day when really I should be writing essays and doing massive amounts of reading...Oh the hard life of a student...

I gave into temptation the other night and read what is written of Over the Fence by Edwards Eternal.  I am now waiting for the two part epi  to complete.    ;D

I had been waiting for Caged by Savage7289 to complete before starting it.  Loopylo posted that it had completed, so, that's what I'll be reading next.
I've been waiting for Caged to be complete as well before reading it as I'm reading quite a few WIPs at the minute and I really didn't wanna be sucked into a another. :D
I did read the first few chapters and what I read was good, so I'm hoping the rest is just as good.   :)

It's just gone midnight here and I'm going to bed, but before I do...

:luck: Top o' the mornin' to you on this fine St Patty's Day. :luck:

Once a year, I embrace my Irish heritage (and anyone else I can embrace!), wear green and enjoy a Guinness - and then can't eat another thing because a Guinness is a meal in itself!

Anyone else have Irish roots?

I'd love an Irish root!

Anyone else have some Irish in them?

About 7 inches will do!!!

How to wear green well...

I have some Irish in me as my Nana (my Dad's Mum) was from Tipperary.
But I definitely wouldn't mind a bit more in me - preferably Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Liam Neeson.  ;) :D

Sorry, no Irish in me, but I have been to Eire (Southern Ireland).  It was lovely, tragic and sad.  Beautiful scenery, great food, friendly people.  But cos I just had to do the museums - famine boats, pictures of people starving and rotting potatoes.  All made me cry, but when I stood on the old dock where the Titanic took on passengers for the last time and looked out to sea where the ship would have been anchored, well you can imagine.  It's a very moving place.

I wanted to thank all of you for giving Heirs and Heirlooms such a wonderful shout-out.  I also wanted to thank lellabeth who created a perfect banner for the story.  I can't figure out how to place it on FFN but it is on the blog created for the story.

Just to let all of you know, as I was writing this story, I stalked this thread and used many of your thoughts of things you liked and didn't like for characters.  So really, all of you, in one why or another contributed to the story.  So, I owe all of you a huge thank you!

I also received help on character development for some for characters I was unsure about.  Again, thank you!

A HUGE thanks, goes to ficfangirl.  She is incredible! To bad I didn't have her in the beginning so there won't have been the errors you will find. LOL

I have made some recent changes to the Epi so anyone who downloaded it - well you might want to do so again.  Or maybe not. But I had a big error that I corrected.  A change I made without ficfangirl involved.  Oops... *ducks*

You all are such great people! I will be forever grateful for finding PTS because you all helped create this story.   Thank you, thank you and thank you!

A good one shot finishes everything up nicely, so while the reader might want more, the story is told. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login writes wonderful one shots.

There are some absolutely amazing one shots. There are some that aren't so great, but you've only invested a short amount of time in it - not like a multi-chapter fic where you might take hours or days and then are still left wanting more.

WIPs are just evil.  :040:

I don't even look at them until I see the little "Complete". The most evil of all is when a fic is marked complete, and then there is a sequel that is really the conclusion rather than the next part of the story...and the sequel never finishes!!!

ahahahah I don't know maybe I'll give it a try! :)
I can't agree more with the sequels! and sometimes are worse than the first part of the story!

Yes, thank goodness. Reading it as a WIP really had me worried it wouldn't be as some of the chapters were so dark. Thank goodness she came through on this one and gave us the HEA.

Has anyone else read/seen Beautiful Creatures? I finished the book this morning and saw the film this afternoon. I can't decide whether I liked it or not, mostly because the ending was a semi-cliffhanger and happened really abruptly. I'm still not sure I understand what happened.

My daughter bought the paperback a few years ago and i downloaded it when i heard the movie was showing here. Since my daughter didn't hound me to watch the movie, i figured it wouldn't be interesting enough for me. The fact that the movie showed here for only a week doesn't earn any points to compel me to read the book or watch the film. Based on your comment, think i made the right decision  8) I'll just let it stay near the bottom of my TBR list for the meantime.  ;D

I do recommend Warm Bodies and Jack the Giant Slayer though. Nicholas Hoult is hot, zombie or living  ;) Both movies were great!

You know that saying about buses?

I have been struggling for something decent to read and then Savage7289 finishes Caged and I get a copy of In Flight by RK Lilley.  Decisions, decisions!

I am reading In Flight first - thanks to Booked and Laurendeplume for the recs and help.   :-*

I am really enjoying it so far.

I started Caged earlier and can't wait to get back to it.  The first couple of chapters were good and it seems like it will be up to Savage's general high standard.

Yes, I have Irish in me.  My Grandma's maiden name is O'Donnell.
And, unfortunately, my husband isn't Irish so I won't have that kind in me.  ;D
