Wow! You girls have been chatty today! 

Last night I dreamt that Lauren was staying with my parents at their house in Brisbane. When I got there, she was crying because SAF had cheated with Rupert again. My mother kept telling me to stop laughing at her!

Then I had to take her shopping because we had run out of eggs and nutella, but I couldn't find the car keys. Just as I was looking in my bag, I woke up.

I think I have officially lost the plot!

Star Trek opened here last Thursday and was the only film available in all the cinema's for the first few days!  There are 2 versions, 2D and 3D.  I would have thought it would have opened first in the US. 

I have never seen a 3D movie! The idea doesn't appeal to me. Unless the movie had Rob in it...but then I'd probably be banned for life for trying to have sex with the screen.

I also haven't seen one Star Trek movie, although Chris Pine is tempting - I liked that one he did with Reese Witherspoon and the English dude. I would very much like to see him join Reese's Pieces (Rob, Joaquin - Leaf was so much easier to spell! - and Vince) on a night out! I'm more a Star Wars fan that a Star Trek fan - but only the originals, not the crappy newer ones, even if they do have Ewan Mcgregor!

No - I've had a quick look at the site. Because I'm a techtard, I need to find the time to figure out what to do! I hope to find the time this weekend, so be warned that RAoR might crash in the next 48 hours!

I was just thinking about something and thought I'd ask you all - at what point do you differentiate between canon and cliché? For example, Edward liking Bella in blue is canon, but people tend to think of it as being a fic cliché too.

Cliche is when they take a cannon element and just completely overdo it because it was in the original or in a popular ff, not because it adds anything to the plot or character development.

I read an AH fic a while ago - the cannon was that the Cullens are wealthy. The cliche was that the author had to spell out that Edward had a lounge suite that was $165,000. Same fic - everything Bella wore was blue - EVERYTHING! She wrapped a blue towel around herself before putting on her blue lingerie and her blue shirt and blue hoodie and blue cap - over her "messy bun" that was probably tied with a blue hair tie!

So I just noticed I got smote!

What is this about? I couldn't figure out the plotline from the summary or skimming reviews.

That's the point. Actually, nobody knows what it's really about, but we all want to find out, so we keep reading! 
I like it. I've never read a story like this (100 words chapter), but so far so good.

Trivia for the older gals here: if you remember that hit tv show CHiPs with Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox, their boss was Sarge, played by RObert Pine. he's the dad of Chris.  Come to think of it, he was a good looking, macho, older guy but balding a bit. hope that doesn't happen to Chris!

Baldness is passed down through the maternal genes.  Chris has a chance to keep his hair!

So, as long as his Mum doesn't go bald he should be okay?
