Hey Ladies, I hope you can help me...

I started reading

And I like it a lot. But I really Need a Spoiler about Bella's past and when she talks about it.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

Has anybody read this?

(and I'm still on our strange Family Computer with those random capital letters...)

I have. Damn. I can't remember what exactly happened. But I guess that says a lot. It wasn't too bad if I can't remember? It's a good fic

Hi! I just finished my first drabble fic--took me a bit to get used to the flow. The book itself (WeeKittyAndTAT - Diamond Doll's Kitty Cave) was okay, but I thought I'd share this SPaG when the (applying) waitress says, "So what do you think Bossy-man, can I sever tables?"

I don't think she'll make many tips that way.  ;D

I may be pervy but i don't want to scare them away by immediately asking that! :D Besides, i'm interested in schlongs, not boobs.  :P :D

How do you do?
i'm Booked.
welcome!
What's your bra size?

nope, not a good way to meet people, more so if this was a bar  :D :D

Hi Booked!
I usually wait for my first drink to kick in before discussing sizes  ;)

Where do I start? Yeah, we may have scared her away.  It is a her isn't it?  Because you need to change that to schlong size otherwise.

Sometimes I just want to make a list.  And then post it somewhere.

Oh wait, we could do that here!!!  Yeah, a thread for the funniest SPaG errors.  For when we are having a bad day and need a laugh.

Sorry, I'm really tired tonight, I may even be getting a little loopy.

Off to feed animals and head to bed.  Good night all! You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

For me, you would want bra size.

And a SPaG best of would be a fun thread indeed - I edit (very boring technical data) for a living and its SUPER hard to get past SPaG errors since my eyes/brain are trained to seek them out. They are like sore thumbs. As long as the general story isn't full of them and it doesn't seem to be written by a 12 yr old, I can look past. But sometimes I just gotta take a min and  :D especially if its a preposition errors, ex "the sauce on the stove boiled over, splattering sauce all in her" when it should be "all on her"  ;D

That would be fun. The most annoying one for me, which is rife in the fandom, is when writers use 'conscious' instead of 'conscience.' Makes me nutty. That one was in Diamond Doll's Kitty Cave also.

Good to know it's bra size.  Although men are totally welcome here? I'm thinking they won't be too comfortable for long.

The three pages of discussion on the Diva Cup comes to mind  :57: ::) :D :D :D

I beta once in a while and 12 years of Catholic school rammed grammar and spelling into me.  Though I freely admit I can't type well.  No coordination whatsoever.  But I always know I'm reading a good story when I don't even notice...okay barely notice the SPaG errors because I want to know what is happening next.

And SPaG can ruin an okay story.

So if enough people would read and post, I don't mind starting it.  But otherwise, we can keep putting them here.  ;D

I had high hopes for this, but I flounced 3/4 chapters in. Bella is a spoilt high-schooler and Edward is 'possessive' in the sense that he tells Bella he's hers - even though he's 28 with a 6 year old daughter and Bella's 18, so they can't date all. Possessive in this case seems to mean asshole ::)

I agree and did the same thing -- flounced at page 25.  Way too juvenile.  Bella is all " oh, i'm so smart and mature for 18 and while Edward's barely spoken a word to me I know he wants me so I'm going to pretend to go out with my ex to make Edward jealous."  And Edward's all, " I know i'm 28 with a kid but I own Bella because I have tattoos and pierced her belly button and show up at her high school  because she won't answer my texts."

Theses are not direct quotes,  but you get the picture.  The motives behind these character's actions are never explained, and not in a "good, I wonder what's going on way" but in a "where did this come from-- what is the author thinking?  (Why is Jacob suddenly dating Edward's ex?)

How old is the author?
I know she was involved in some fandom drama. Can't remember what it was.
But I remember thinking "no wonder her fics are immature".

I was reading Illusion of Innocence when it was a WIP.  After about 11 chapters, I thought Edward and Bella were both TSTL, and quit reading.  I left thinking I would go back when it was complete, so I didn't flounce.  But I have a feeling this is one that will get skimmed, rather than read.

Decided to give "Substance Clad in Shadows" a shot as it's been talked about. I'm enjoying it so far. Came across this that I thought you might like (or not),
"The walls in the photo wouldn't call my crazy, I almost say, just for a laugh."
S/B 'me'. The walls wouldn't call me crazy...
or maybe they would?

I think having the SPaG errors here is more fun.  They sometimes help keep the conversation going, plus they're funny and we shouldn't totally rely on Astro to provide our comedic relief.

I agree, but mostly because I don't think most people see the irritating humor in it, so it would likely be an inactive thread. I always think it's just me that goes a little nutty about those things. Actually, it's how I found out about fanfiction. I had a PDF of one of SMeyer's books, which I was correcting for myself in Word, and was looking on the internet to find out if something should be italicized or not. (I know, I'm a little OCD with this stuff). In checking the quote, I found a sporking on LJ. Click, click, click and now fanfiction is my most prolific hobby.  ;D

I think I envy you if you can keep it as a hobby.  For some of us, it has reached true addiction levels.

So I may be an addict too, but I already admitted to being OCD with errors so I didn't want to come off as too much of a freak! :)

Oh no!  You fit right in here.  I used to copy the stories into an editable format so I could fix all the errors as I read.  I gave that up after I found flagfic though.  I decided I'd rather read and just fix the errors in my head.  Most of the girls here will admit to changing all the characters to Twilight characters if they're reading something other than fanfic.  So, we don't think you're a freak at all.  Welcome to the family!

Thanks! It's nice to know it's not just me! Flagfic has also saved me innumerable hours correcting the unnecessary. Now I only do it to things I think I'll read again.

Am I being even more thick than usual or is that sentence incomprehensible to anyone else even with the correction? I've read it 4 or 5 times and I'm completely lost.

Sorry, in the story Bella is a little batty. She listens to her bedroom walls call her crazy. Then she sees this photo which has walls in it that she doesn't think would call her crazy. She finds it peaceful.

It's a story like this--where the words are important-- that a simple error destroys the suspense and flow. That said, I'm willing to look past the errors as I like the story.
