Are you trying to kill me? Just because I'm tall doesn't mean I can handle my drink at all, I end up giggling like a loon or talking about sex after a few glasses ^-^ Night night!

This will undoubtedly shock you...but I don't need a few glasses to start talking about sex!

Not even a drop.  ;)

Hey, it's always 5 somewhere, drinking is acceptable at any point.

Astro: me neither, but unfortunately I tend to get very graphic and overshare. Tonight I went on a 5 minute rant about penises (peni? hm) and my love for them. Thank god no-one with a video camera was around! The cherry vodka was something I got at a farmer's market of all places, but Absolut do a grapefruit vodka that's just as nice.

My nail girl is running late.

Again, I don't need a few drinks for that!

What do you mix it with?

I'm having mango daiquiris for dinner tonight. You know, cause I'm on a health kick. I'm sure Jillian would approve.

And I have four mangoes in my crisper that are beyond eating but just right for blending, so I'm reducing landfill.

Healthy AND environmentally friendly! I am such a role model!

I'm still into Carano - Second Page. All of her's are "AH mild drama to drama free", but not overly long.

I'm still here! I've been on the phone to the US, hence the last/early bed time...

I'm constantly surprised at the amount of CaraNo fics I've read! If asked I'd say she's not one of my favourites, but my reading habits are making a liar out of me!  I've read Second Page and really liked it and I've read This Life and I really, really, really didn't...Again, I'm open to a certain amount of suspension of reality but not to the point of sci-fi...
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
and Whistler? He needed a good clip round the ears! I doubt there is an Irish-American family alive that would allow a young boy to talk the way he does! And a mob family? Where respect is key? Yeah, no. Hated This Life.

I love CaraNo's funny stuff. But I'm not big into Mafiaward.  Well, not yet.  So I haven't read any of those types that she has done.  I usually find I read one of hers, read a bunch of other stuff, then go back and read another.

Then again, I rarely read an authors whole body of work one right after the other.  I like mixing it up I guess.   But I do want to read that December one soon.  ;D

My usual nail girl just had a baby so is away until April (if she comes back). Her sister is covering for her, and she's just not as good - a bit rough, rushes and she has friends dropping in all the time and she chats with them instead of concentrating so all my nails now have a slight tilt to the left. A few mango daiquiris will fix that!

Pear Gray Goose? We really are soul mates!

And I love a good martini. It's my "Nuclear War" drink - if everything in the world was wiped out, I could still make a martini. I always have vodka and olives, so I just poor vodka over ice, add a few spoons of olive brine and a few olives. If I have vermouth, I put in the tiniest drop, but it doesn't really need it.

Gray Goose is my vodka of choice. I don't usually buy flavoured vodka because they can be a little hard to find here, and I can't drink Smirnoff. I have had Absolut pear, with ginger beer and a squeeze of lime. I haven't tried a pear martini, but I just googled it and discovered the Grey Goose and Absolut websites:

so I'll definitely be giving it a go. How do you make it?

When I was in town, I stopped in to look for some cherry vodka. I might have gotten a little carried away

I found a Polish cherry vodka, and also bought some cherry brandy liqueur  (because it was on sale), mango liqueur (because it was there) and lychee liquer (just because). Then, when I went to put it all in my liquor cabinet (which is actually an antique writing desk that my parents gave me), I discovered I still have 3 bottles of Grey Goose (plus 1 in the freezer), a bottle of Absolut, a bottle of Belvedere and a bottle of Crystal Head Vodka. Most of these were gifts from my birthday in December, so I obviously haven't been drinking enough!

I won't list everything else in there - you might start thinking I have a drinking problem!

I always make my drinks from scratch - no nasty premixes for me! This is my recipe for a Mango Daiquiri. It's meant to make 4 glasses...meant to!  ;) You might want to tweek the lime and sugar to taste. I'm going to try adding a little of the mango liqueur I bought.

Blend 2 large ripe mangoes, 1/2 cup white rum, 1/2 cup vodka, 1/4 cup lime juice, 2 tablespoons caster sugar until smooth. Add 3 cups of crushed ice and blend until just combined. Pour into cocktail glasses and serve immediately, with a sprig of mint.

While googling, I also came upon this: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
We only have a short cherry season (I refuse to buy imported cherries from the US) from December to about now, so I'll have to try this recipe this week - I certainly have enough vodka to make it!

It's 4:00pm now - Dinner Time!

Her funny stuff is great, and I'm liking the others I've read this week. I find the ones that she writes for kink are not as good (Isla de Cullen (the original, I haven't read the re-write) and More). I thought the characters in these were just a little flat and one-dimensional, just there for the smut.

I'm a little surprised myself that I'm reading one after the other by the same author. I guess it's because I know that they are all pretty angst-less and decently written so there's no gamble. That's just what I need at the start of the school year, a reprieve from writing curriculum plans, annual implementation plans and all the other yuck that is due to regional office by 28 February.

I just went for the Amaretto/chocolate vodka combo tonight.   Tastes better with a bit of milk.  And maybe some Kahlua.

I bought the chocolate vodka to use in making ice cream. So far, half the bottle is gone.  Yet, there is no ice cream......hmmmm......

I can't do creamy drinks anymore - when I got sick a few years ago, I developed an intolerance to milk/cream/ice cream, chocolate and eggs - all my favourites.

I still have them occasionally, but only if I know that I'm going to be staying at home  8)

Remember before Christmas, when, upon your recommendation, I tried eggnog and made eggnog icecream? It was delicious - but I paid the price a few hours later! BTW, did you ever try the burgers with beetroot and pineapple?

I do love Kahlua - I mix it with vodka (because vodka makes everything better) and coke, but only coke zero because real coke is too sweet.

I know, :-[ it doesn't make any sense but that's how I do it. If I have a night out and have drinks mixed with real coke (as they often are in pubs here), I get the shakes when I get home, like a full on diabetic tremor. I always blame the real coke...I'm sure it's not the rum!

I also like to put a good shot of kahlua into my coffee in winter. And I'll admit that while this is usually a night cap, last winter there were a few Sunday morning coffees that contained kahlua. It made the housework far more entertaining!

A friend at work told me that she is currently drinking tia maria with cranberry juice. I had to try that so I bought a bottle of tia maria earlier this week (and the grog shop was having a special - Tia Maria and Bailey's for $50 so I picked up a bottle of that too  ;D). The tia maria and cran wasn't too bad, surprisingly. My parents used to drink tia maria with cream for special occasions when I was a kid - it was so exotic in the early 70s.

I sound like such a boozer! I'm really not! I rarely drink during the week, and I might have one drink here or there, and will often not have anything for a few weeks, and I usually have to drive if I go out.

Well, there was this plan to have hamburgers with pineapples and beets, but I didn't have beets & my husband refused to buy them when he went to the store.   :P

And I just realized, that was the last time I had a hamburger.   ???

I need to do that soon.  I just hate grocery shopping.    >:(

Sorry, if I had known you can't eat eggs and milk, I wouldn't have recommended it.  Oh heck, I still would have rec'd it, just not for you.  Half my family is lactose intolerant, and I can only eat so much.  My stomach has no problem.....and I will leave it at that LOL!

I like coke zero as well.  I just don't normally like vodka - something about being at a summer concert when I was 16 with only vodka spiked punch available to drink and it was 90 degrees out...well, it's similar to your experience.  Though chocolate vodka has been okay.

And now? I am off to bed....night all!

^-^ I know what it does to me, and I still chose to eat it. Some things are just to good to miss out on, so I choose to pay for it.

And the eggnog icecream was amazingly delicious - well worth a few trips to the bathroom at 2:00am. My friend's husband has demanded I make him a double batch for his birthday in April, and reminds me at least once a week. On Valentine's Day, he even sent his 11 year old daughter to school with a flower for me, and a message: "Be my Eggnog icecream dealer?"

It was the only valentine I received from anyone over 40.  :'(

Good night, sleep well.  :-* I'm peeling and dicing mangoes. I hope I won't be drinking and PTS'ing alone tonight!

Yeah...I have a coworker whose name is Edward.  Fortunately, he likes to be called Eddie. He is not a bad looking guy or anything, but he is no Edward LOL!  ;)

The most I have encounter is Liam, altough I remember reading in a novel the name Edward and I was waiting for the last name to be Cullen, sadly it wasn't the case. I'm going to look for the name of that one up and tell you all the name of it  ;)

Edit: and with this post I became an expert,,, dunno in what I'll try an figure this one out lol  :D

My brother is called Liam so whenever I hear that name it's him I think of as opposed to the character (same with my friend Rose) but for most other names that are in twific I'll think of their character. I expect all Edward's I meet to be good-looking, sadly this isn't the case :( Name's like Carlisle and Esme are so rare that the only association I have for them is from fanfiction.

I'm currently sitting with a jug of pink lemonade and answering reviews. One thing I've noticed is that many people complain their reviews don't get responded to, but when you do they don't reply back. It's weird.
