I know!  I have to just start it.  I'm so bad with this type of exercise.  I like just going out and hiking and running or swimming or just playing sports, but I'd rather be leaner rather than too muscley.  I'm not like Pink's (the singer) muscle frame, but as I get older I have to do more pilates and ballet barre type exercises to go lean rather than bulky.  It's just a matter of getting started.  Once I get started, I'm good.

It's sooooo good!!!!!  You must try one!  All that melted mozzarella on uber-yummy marina sauce (I call "gravy") and savory chicken cutlet all in a crispy, but light-as-air Italian roll.  *orgasmic groan*

And you are so correct, starting is always the most difficult part.  I will start it though.  I just don't know when.  I need Jillian Michaels to kick my ass now!  :o

I have to be honest. I only work-out so that I can eat what the hell I like...The more I exercise, the more I can stuff my face and still wear skinny jeans....

Astro, did I tell you how much I enjoyed Forbidden? (book by Tabitha Suzuma) I can't remember if I read it while I was away from the thread travelling and might not have remembered to mention it when I came back. For some reason it's been on my mind today, heartbreaking..

Howdy folks, nice to see yall having fun with your new fitness play.

I'm sitting here debating on hair. I've had my hair short for the past couple of years. Like really short. Pixie Anne Hathaway a few months ago short. And I loved it, but I have a few issues. Number one, I just got tired of it, number two, with it so short, the grey shows back super fast. (yes, I'm vain!) So I've been growing it out since summer. It's back down past my ears, just starting to brush my collar in back ( but with weird shorter parts, so that collar part needs cut anyway).

And it's driving me fricking INSANE.  It's nowhere near long enough for a pony tail, but it's getting in my face all the time. I'd say I have another 6 months at least before I can do anything with it, and I don't know if I should hold out or cut it. I like it short, but I like it longer too.
I had one of those 'bob' style haircuts when it was on trend and haven't regretted anything so much since! I'd advise getting some of those You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login things and pinning the front bits back so at least it's not in your face quite so much. Youtube is great for hair tutorials too if you want to do anything cute with it. I'd personally say hold out on cutting it again, otherwise you've wasted all the time growing it out thus far. My hair is really f'ing long at the moment (about the middle of my back) and I'm trying to stop myself cutting it off.

Am I the only one that's confused/surprised about the fact that they made Beautiful Creatures into a film? I read my god-daughter's, she who force-fed me Twilight in the first place (in my defence? Being stuck on South Beach with a 14 year old strange things happen) and I thought that BC was an even bigger pile of tosh..better written but not as good a story..

Astro:  Thank you for sending me the 30DS downloads last night.

laurendeplume: thanks for bringing 30DS to our attention

demaris/Astro/Ella/Rickell and everyone else who is on it and raved about it:  thank you for helping me decide to ask Astro for 30DS

Now, here's my problem.  Instead of working out, I stared at Astro's email for a few minutes and then I called my bff up for a late dinner at a steakhouse.   :o  It was savory deliciousness and goodness, but now I'm feeling guilty  :(

I'm staring at the email again.... right now.  And now I want a Chicken Parmigiana sandwich  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

The way I see it - do the Shred and then you can enjoy savoury deliciousness and goodness without the guilt!

Hmmm.....still waiting for that feeling!

It does happen! Towards the end of last week, people were asking me if I'd gotten lucky!

Stick with it, ladies.

Or if you're still deciding to start, the start today. The first day is the most difficult - actually, moving on the day after the first day is the most difficult! And you'll think that there is no way you can do Day 2, but once you start, you actually feel better - all those tight muscles loosen up a bit.

I'm on Day 8 today, and even though I am now doing all of Level 1 with no pain (still huffing like a steam engine and sweating like a pig :P), I'm getting a little nervous about moving to Level 2 on Wednesday. I'm too scared to watch and see how much harder it gets!

Lauren, it it harder, or just different?

My hair takes FOREVER to grow - I went from short (not quite pixie, bit short short) and it took years to get even a ponytail. Then, right at the end of 2011, when I finally had good length, my hairdresser hacked into it and I ended up with weird layers that were more like chunky steps. And because my hair is quite curly, the shorter steps curled and looked even shorter. I changed hairdressers and when I went 3 weeks ago, she said that all the steps have almost finally grown out - she said that by the next trim, it should all be back to normal again.

Sometimes I wonder why I have bothered growing my hair out, because it's so hot and humid here and I have soooo much hair, that I just wear it up all the time anyway. I get a few months in Winter when I can wear it down, but I am also paranoid about getting head lice from the kids at school, so I never wear it down at work.

Anyway, have you thought about extensions? I've never tried them, but a few people I know have used them to get through the growing out stage.

I'm on day 5, all pain gone gone gone! But still feeling the burn while exercising..ate a whole bag of chocolate raisins, yum! Astro I didn't have all the ingredients to make the daiquiri, what can I make with Tequila, Vodka, rum, schapps (God knows where that came from but it has edible gold in it!) Port (left over from Christmas) Baileys ( same..) and Courvoisier?

If I tell you I ended up crying the first time I did it, will that give you your answer? ;) It's mostly upper body workouts and I hate doing the plank, so it was a nightmare for me. It really toned up my arms, though, and it does get better just like level 1. First day of any new level is the worst, but that just means you're working new muscles which is the whole point.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I was a little worried recc'ing it to people because of the subject matter(consensual incest), but I think it is so beautifully written. It reminded me a little of Flowers In The Attic, without all the soap opera drama. Forbidden was just so sweet and innocent...pure. It was heartbreaking.

Illicitwriter mentioned Forbidden in her fic Illicitus Amare - she's been popping in here over the last few weeks, so I'm looking forward to seeing how she reworks IA and finishes it.

I have BC in my never-ending Real Book TBR list. I should start reading some real books, but I'm in the comfort zone with fanfic.

So much to read, and so little reading time!

I have to google Courvoisier because I have never heard of it, and then I'll be back with some recipes! Do you have white rum or dark rum?

My internet is really slow today - I am d/l ing Zero Dark Thirty because someone *YOU!* said it was good. I started downloading it 13 hours ago and it's still only at 79.8%! I have never been so patient downloading before, and I did delete this yesterday at 4% and then saw it was actually good quality and had to start all over again!.

I can plank! I actually have a really strong core - it's just hidden under stronger layers of blubber! Whenever I had personal trainers, they were always amazed at my core strength and my flexibility. Thanks Mum!

It's the cardio that I find the hardest followed closely by arm strength - my bat wings (the flabby bits that hang down from your arms, when you get old - in Australia, we call them tuckshop lady arms. The tuckshop is our school lunchroom/canteen) create too much drag.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!  :D

So Level 2 made you cry - you'd better brace yourself for more bitching/cursing from around Wednesday then!

It does not bode well that an alcoholic beverage and a gallstone condition both share the name Courvoisier!

Am reading Teacher of the Year by DH78. Its short so very easy to complete. Its just so-so though, a daddyward.

Its 10:20 am, woke up at 9am (slept at 3 am), i installed our new cordless phones for our house, ate a bacon and rice breakfast in bed, finished a row of chocolates from a cadbury bar and now lying down again. Thinking of finishing off the cheetos i opened yesterday... Yup, my fat, lazy as* hasn't fired up the comp to download 30DS... But i am sure enjoying my Sunday so far  :D

Nah, I'm not squeamish about stuff like that, and I don't have any kind of fictional taboos, it's called fiction for a reason....I saw Illicitwriter on here the other day, you offered to pre-read for her? I think it must of missed it all while I was away...I haven't read her fic yet, partly because of your review and partly because it so far down the list...and your review hasn't encouraged me to move it up...when she reworks it I'll be interested in reading it too.

Zero Dark is awesome but in a very quiet subtle way, it's not an action thriller (AT ALL!) even at the end when the 'job' is done, there is no fanfair no fireworks; it's a very character driven film...I loved it. Apparently someone has upload all of this years award films online... have you noticed if the ones you're watching have "for your consideration' or 'only for award consideration, not to be distributed'
occasionally written at the bottom of the screen? If they are really good copies that is probably the reason...

I have Appleton Jamaica Rum, it's a golden colour and delicious..Courvoisier, is a cognac

I'm the same, when it's long I wear it upon all the time, and end up deciding if I'm gonna wear it up all the time, might as we'll cut it. Then I miss the ponytail.
This is me too...I like it short for about 3 weeks, then I start wishing I could put it back.  But when it gets all grown out, I start thinking wearing it in a ponytail isn't very professional.  So I cut it....and we start all over again.

Though I try not to do layers too much  ;D
