Zero Dark is awesome but in a very quiet subtle way, it's not an action thriller (AT ALL!) even at the end when the 'job' is done, there is no fanfair no fireworks; it's a very character driven film...I loved it. Apparently someone has upload all of this years award films online... have you noticed if the ones you're watching have "for your consideration' or 'only for award consideration, not to be distributed'
occasionally written at the bottom of the screen? If they are really good copies that is probably the reason...

I have Appleton Jamaica Rum, it's a golden colour and delicious..Courvoisier, is a cognac

I think I may have seen a "for your consideration" somewhere. That explains it! It's still d/l'ing - I'm looking forward to watching it if it ever finishes!

I have only ever had fruit schnapps and butterscotch schnapps. When I was younger and sillier ( ;)) I used to drink a shot that was a layer of butterscotch schnapps with a layer of Bailey's floated over the top. We called it a "cocksucking cowboy" but they're also called a "dirty cowboy" or a "slippery nipple". The thought of them now makes my stomach roll! I googled "schnapps with gold leaf". Is it Goldschläger? If so, go here for some drinks: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Alcohol mixed with energy drinks scare me! They are far too  dangerous.

Black Banker - Goldschlager mixed with Banker's Vodka and Chocolate Syrup. Drink quickly or vomiting may ensue.

 :D That's a great recommendation!

This sounds intriquingly delicious:
Irish Cookie - 1/2 oz chocolate, 6 ozs stout (Guinness), 1/2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream, 1/2 oz Goldschlager

Hmmm - golden rum? That's one I haven't tried. I have Bundaberg Rum which is a dark rum and I used Bacardi in my daiquiri last night - you could probably try the rum you've got for that, maybe?

My parents always told me that Bacardi "rots your guts", so I always feel a little naughty when I buy it! The mango daiquiri last night was delicious - it was a perfect mix of mango-y sweetness, and lime-y tartness and icy yumness. I only used one mango, so adjusted accordingly and added a splash of mango liqueur. I really did have it for dinner last night - I was full after drinking the jug!

The only time I have ever had a cognac was when I was in Vietnam and had a really bad chest cough -our dutch friend recommended it as a decongestant! It did make me cough up a long, but it didn't clear the cough up.

Disclaimer: Drink responsibly!

Three days? Nope. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life! I'll give you today to buy a sports bra and handweights and to d/l the workout video (PM me your email address if you need the links and details) and then you have no excuses!

As Lauren said earlier, it's almost as good as sex!

:( That's not really true - it's been a long time, but even I remember that sex does not feel like that!

"cocksucking cowboy"? That does not sound like something I would want in my mouth...no sirree!

Don't like Barcadi to 'harsh' I like my rums mellow..

Thanks for all the cocktail recipes though, tomorrow I'm going out to buy the ingredients for the daiquiri, I am determined to use my mangos before the have to be thrown away.

OK my lovelies I'm off, 03.27GMT. Time for some shut eye nighty night  :-*

ETD: Bugger! I think I posted after you went to bed! I really hope you see this before you hit the shops!

Alright - this post is going to give you an insight into my OCD. I also think I might have a little bit of a drink-based obsession, but it is overruled by my Domestic Goddess-itis.

First, you always have to have limes in your freezer!

Limes are ridiculously expensive here! I have a lime tree, and when they are all in season and ready for picking, I pick them, wash them and throw them in the freezer - no segmenting or juicing, just through them in whole. Then, when you need lime juice, just take on out and stick it in the microwave for about 40-60 seconds until it's defrosted and a little bit warm - you won't believe how much more juice you get out when you zap them in the microwave. If you don't have a lime tree, buy heaps when they are in season and freeze them.

Cointreau
Unless you're drinking it straight or over ice, don't ever buy Cointreau to mix in cocktails. Buy Triple Sec - here in Australia, it's a third of the price of Cointreau and in a cocktail you can't tell the difference - but you must always have a bottle in your stash!

Apart from Pimm's, Long Island Iced Tea is my go-to drink when I have people over. I make up a big jug and we sit outside and eat nuts and drink Long Island Iced Teas...(and I pray that SNB will come out to mow). When you can no longer say "Long Island Iced Tea", it's time for dinner!

Big D - with what's in your stash, you might be able to give a Long Island Iced Tea a go. I'm intrigued that you didn't have the ingredients for a mango daiquiri because those ingredients are almost staples in my pantry - the sugar is usually the hardest thing for me to find! If you haven't used your mango yet, just freeze it before it goes off. You can freeze it whole or skin it, dice it and stick it in a ziplock bag. We had mango trees in our backyard when I was a kid and we'd always get a glut of mangoes. Once they're frozen, they're a bit too sloppy to eat, but great for cooking and drinking.

I live in a hot climate, so most of my drinks are icy. When I spent winter in Europe, I discovered glühwein , or mulled wine, or vin chaud, or vin brulé, or svařák. Yes, I became multi-lingual because I drank my way through Europe! At home when I'm entertaining in winter, I make it in my slow cooker. When it's all gone, everyone is multi-lingual!

Bailey's can be consumed in any climate, especially when it's homemade (but I now have to limit my Bailey's intake  :'( because my tummy doesn't like the cream/egg/choc combo)

I've attached a few others of my faves, and recipes for homemade Bailey's and Kahlua. Don't judge me!

Packing my bags to come visit...

:'( I get nothing through work! Not even a piece of chalk.
Actually, I do get some lovely gifts from the kids at Christmas - but one person does not need 30 coffee mugs filled with chocolates, or 20 washcloths with crochet edges, or 10 purse size diaries, or 20 bottles of body lotion/body butter, or 10 pot plants just before you're about to go away for the holidays and they need to be watered every day in Queensland heat. And my birthday is in December, just a week or 2 before we break up for Christmas, so I get the same sort of gifts then first, but I always smile, say thanks, hug...and regift!

"cocksucking cowboy"? That does not sound like something I would want in my mouth...no sirree!

Everyone has to have a cocksucking cowboy in their mouth at least once in their lifetime! They're not bad - just too sweet and creamy for me now. You can also add a layer of Kahlua or Frangelico - or both! Kahlua, Bailey's and Cointreau are a "B52". Cointreau and Bailey's is an "Orgasm". A "Seduction" is Bailey's, Kahlua and Midori (melon liqueur - the most vomit inducing thing in the world!).

Don't like Barcadi to 'harsh' I like my rums mellow..
Apart from Barcardi in cocktails, I only drink Bundaberg rum. Let me know if you ever want to sample out native beverage (beside beer). When I send a care package to my sister in London, I always send a mini-bottle of Bundy. Although, now that I'm on her shitlist, I wouldn't be surprised if she mails the next one back to me - with the bottle smashed, the timtams and jaffas crushed and the vegemite squeezed out all over the lot!

SHIT!!!

Am I going to get into trouble for promoting drinking to the minors that supposedly frequent this page?

Drinking is bad! It is only for grown-ups! Drink in moderation! Don't drink and drive! When you are of legal drinking age (which is 18 here in Australia), which will be the first time you ever have a sip of alcohol, always eat before drinking and then follow each alcoholic bevy with a tall glass of water. Always have at least one alcohol free day each week. Don't leave your drink unattended. Never accept an open drink from a stranger.

There! Have I covered everything?

Wow! This sounds great!  We have a bunch if citrus trees and I'm always juicing them (which takes forever) and freezing the juice in ice cube trays to save for later use.  I don't have any limes left but do have tons of meyer lemons and oranges. I'm off to make room in my freezer!

It does take up a little more space in the freezer, but it saves so much time!
Just make sure you don't over do them in the microwave when you defrost - they squirt!

But your microwave then smells citrus fresh. ;)

ROFLMAO! I love it.  Jacob eats porpoises? And wants his back shaved?  Yeah, so good.  But I do love the first one - "You spit at me!" Sigh, he is so cute.  But he does need a tan.... but SAF? Yeah, trying to figure out how tto watch this without her.

Actually, I feel a little bad about calling her SAF, because women shouldn't make fun of other women's looks.  Now calling her SAA? Yeah, that's okay (Shit-*ss attitude) Because if you want to be an actress? Yeah, you want attention. So don't complain about it when it happens.

I agree - women are their own worst enemies when it comes to putting each other down based on appearance.

When I call her SAF, I am not talking about her looks - it's her expression...or rather, lack of expression, as well as her attitude that I really don't like. I really hate all of the photos of her giving the finger to the paps. If you can't be gracious, ignore them completely, but don't do that - especially when you're on a speedboat, on Sydney Harbour, on a promotional tour!

He is so happy because he is away from SAF.

And im sorry Ella, but I'm totally against having to stick together just because we are women.
I'm all for sticking up for the underdog for example.
But I bad mouth both genders equally.
