It was a soap opera of a fic with all the wtf and crazy moments. Yet, I still read it and enjoyed it even while my eyes got tired from rolling all over the place. Very weird, because I'm not a fan of soap opera and even stopped watching Downton Abbey, because it was just getting too melodramatic in the worst way for me. This fic must have caught me at a weak moment or something.

Okay I have a bit of a confession - been looking fics to tackle on on my TBR list and I realised that I haven't read any of The Storm Trilogy by SexyLexiCullen - are they any good?

I Flove them all and Quiet Storm was what got me into fanfiction and I'm willing to read a WIP with "Riders", so...don't be scared to give em a chance!

Incidentally, I love me some mafia romances but the Storm Saga (I won't call it a trilogy because I don't want SexyLexi to quit and the word 'series' downplays its DRAMA!) is the only one I think of as realistic. Lack of realism seems to make the 'mob' or 'mafia' aspect useless.
I liked There Will Be Blood and There Will Be Freedom though the sequel was stronger. Like a Moth to a Flame was okay and the sequel is moving slow. Heart of the Mafia was okay but it's not being updated. Can anyone think of a mob/mafia/organized crime fic which does NOT include the heroine being a hostage or slave because I won't relive the Emancipation Proclamation experience. I'd love some recommendations.

I liked the quiet storm i just could not get into the sequels. Have your read the Gravity Series? Blood and Glory is the first one. I took the recommendation from DD and I loved it. The 2nd story in the series is turning out to be just as good.

I've read both and they were okay. It's what I mean about lack of realism affecting the story to me. CaraNo's Grand Tale was my #2 fave just under the Storm Saga.

I agree with your opinion about Harkham`s Case. I really loved the early chapters, but then it became totally fucked up unrealistic drama and Edward`s issues just went away. And I only read until chapter 30 before I gave up. It sounds as if it got even worse!

And yes, the eyes... Bella sees the Cullens for the first time in the cafeteria and immediately thinks of Edward's green eyes. I couldn't even tell anyone the colour of my best friend's eyes, so I think this is highly unrealistic. I usually roll my eyes then , same with the bronze hair, the crooked smile, ...

Now, see, I have to disagree with this - I still remember the eye color of my first crush - they were really dark brown - almost black. And his smile....

And it's been, well....lets just say over 20 years. Yeah. Sigh. I wonder what happened to him....

Last time I Googled a guy I hooked up with I found out he was done for armed robbery - I knew he was a bed 'un.

I don't go for criminals. I tend to go for damaged beyond repair ones. And no you can't save them.
