I finally read that last week. It was so great, but soooo long lol!

I haven't read that in such a long time but I recently got my girlfriend into reading fanfic and she popped her cherry with EP!!! Now she is hooked but of course she gets all the good ones because I only give her the best.

I'm just interested.....what was the first fanfic you read?

I first read Cocktails & Dreams.

My first ever was E.P. I didn't even realise fanfic existed. Someone on my facebook news feed was commenting daily about fantastic this story was. I clicked the link which led me to the blog and the rest is history! The unfortunate thing about it was, it was only about 3/4 done when I got to it and so when I read the last post, I thought that was it. To say it made me depressed for a couple of weeks because I thought that's how it ended was an understatement! I didn't realise it was unfinished for about 2 months. By this time I'd found FF.net. Being as naive as I was back then, I thought every story would be as riveting as E.P. Needless to say that wasn't the case...

I'm just interested.....what was the first fanfic you read?

I first read Cocktails & Dreams.

I honestly don't remember what the very first was. The first that stuck in my head was Something Wicked This Way Comes by Serndipitydooda. It was the first WIP that I fell in love with and become disappointed that it never updated. She has said that she will update soon on many occasions and never does.

I started reading Hide and Drink right after that.

There's a few, but I only started reading ff in 12/10 - my first was The Plan, my second MOTU. But I will say there's a lot of things I've started but got bored with & never finished

I have to admit (please don't throw stones) I started to read EP and got bored. I started just skimming and skipping chapters. I finished it but haven't completely read it. Same goes for The University of Edward Masen. I tried really hard to not skim it. It just wouldn't hold my attention, still doesn't. Everyone raved about it and it was the story that spurred me to start hunting down pulled fanfiction. I owe it a lot for that.

Slave is killing me. I just want to read the end of the story already. It's been years! LOL!

I know. For the ones that were completed before being pulled to publish, I can't figure out what takes so long. The fanfic version of Slave probably had enough chapters to fill up the second volume, so WHY hasn't it already been published. I recently tried to pre-order the second volume and TWCS was acting up. I need to go back and try again. I can understand why the conclusion might take a little longer since she has to write that one, not just change the names. I promise I'm only being judgmental about the publishing process. I'm in awe of anyone who can write a story that holds my interest and thrilled with all these people who expand my enjoyment of the Twi-universe. I just wish they wouldn't take so long to do it. I prefer instant gratification.

Um, I have a question for the gals and guys here... Have you ever read a story and really enjoyed it. You have either finished or it hasn't updated in a while then you go back and re read for pleasure or to catch up then think "Why in the heck did I like this story in the first place?"

I've come across a few that I had a 'WTF was I thinking?' and I feel horrible because I hadn't read that many fics and was green around the gills. Now that I've read so many stories, I'm starting to think I've become a story snob

Is it just me?

Nope not just you..... I have at least 5 folders of 'WTF was I thinking' stories/chapters...

I haven't read tUoEM and will probably get around to it sometime but EP absolutely captivated me.....it just goes to show that everyone has different ideas of a good fic but I must say that at least here you can confess your sins and not be judged or flamed for them
