I have to admit (please don't throw stones) I started to read EP and got bored. I started just skimming and skipping chapters. I finished it but haven't completely read it. Same goes for The University of Edward Masen. I tried really hard to not skim it. It just wouldn't hold my attention, still doesn't. Everyone raved about it and it was the story that spurred me to start hunting down pulled fanfiction. I owe it a lot for that.

Same here! I said just said the other day that I got bored, it was just so wordy and repetitive in some places. I skimmed A LOT and eventually flounced. It was a great story line, though

No-one in my RL knows about my Twilight addiction at all. Whether it be books, movies, fan fiction or Rob, no-one knows that I am totally into this stuff at all. I have tried explaining it to a few of them and all I got was blank stares 
3 years of keeping this obsession under wraps but sometimes I would just love to sit down and a have a face to face chat with someone about what I read......

LivvyB - I cant believe I happend upon this post by you. FIVE minutes ago I found out that there was a soundtrack by Robert Pattison in one of the Twilight Movies (Ive only watched one) and with all my family around me, I couldnt share that Im reading Twilight fanfic. They will think Im insane. I so much want to talk, face to face to someone about how much I enjoy reading abt Bella and Edward. So while I can share the love for that soundtrack with them, I couldnt connect with them abt my love for fanfiction. I also feel extremely isolated this side of the world, im basically 7/8 hours out of sync with USA and when people are chatting away, I sleeping. I just wish, for once, that I can chat with someone about whats all out there in the world of fandom, verbally, not on my ipad. I wont even TRY to explain to my fam and friends - so its quite a bittersweet space Im in.

Im grateful for all the hard work everyone has put in here. The mods and everyone who spend so much of their time making this virtual world a reality for me.

I still haven't read EP, but I started UoEM and just couldn't get into it. I'll probably try it again someday when I'm more in the mood

Yeah it is it kinda makes me wonder, how many amazing fics did we lose before we became collectors.

I loved EP until they split & then things started to annoy me,but that could've been because I stopped reading for a week or 2 because RL got in the way.
I would definitely read it again at some point - I don't do that with many FF unless I really liked them and can't get them out of my head.
As for UoEM I just couldn't get into no matter what.
I've just started Wide Awake & hope to finish it before my son is born coz Im pretty sure if I stop I wont be able to get into it again.
But this is what I love about FF - people give loads of different recs and we all have loads of different opinions on them. 

Don't get me wrong. I really liked E.P. It's just it got very repetative for me. It was an incredible story. I just had to skip over the POV in the other character voice. It was been there, done that, let's move to the next part.

My doctor says I have adult onset ADD meaning I wasn't diagnosed until I was well into my 30's. It's hard to keep focused for me. If I get to a slow point into a book or repetative parts I have to start skimming.

I'm like that with MotU now also. When I was reading along when it was a WIP I was fine. A chapter a week or every few weeks it held my attention. Re-reading it I shake my head of the repetativeness of Bella. It's the same thing over and over. So I just skip around to may favorite parts.

ohhh me too, I don't think I really did any skipping on E.P. I even do read while doing dishes. I have a story that I've been reading like that where I skip chapters so I know how you feel.

If after tomorrow you don't see me for a couple of days I'm hospital bound, Doc said if my eye is not better by Monday I'm going on IV Meds well it's not better I'm sitting here looking like a pirate lol. It's driving me crazy, I'm just glad it's my bad eye or I'd be completely out of commission.

I'm weird in that I have to be in the mood for a story to enjoy it most of the time.  Unless it's humor.  I can always go for humor.  Angsty stories always require more concentration than my ADD brain can deal with a lot of the time.

  hope you feel better. Unfortunately, my experience is you don't get much sleep in a hospital. Though it's better when your roommate is not a druggie who spends the whole night making loud phone calls complaining about everything :p

So hopefully they figure out what's wrong & get you good drugs
