I'm weird in that I have to be in the mood for a story to enjoy it most of the time.  Unless it's humor.  I can always go for humor.  Angsty stories always require more concentration than my ADD brain can deal with a lot of the time.   ^-^

Okay another quirk of mine, if it's angsty, I have to wait until it's completed then I read the epi or last two chapters, (I have to have an HEA, but only if it's a twilight fanfic) I'm not all that picky if I'm reading an original published fic. I guess I just have certain expectations for E/B. There is a lot I won't read (doesn't mean I won't save them though) 2 Major No-No's for me is Cheating & Rape.

:(  hope you feel better. Unfortunately, my experience is you don't get much sleep in a hospital. Though it's better when your roommate is not a druggie who spends the whole night making loud phone calls complaining about everything :p

So hopefully they figure out what's wrong & get you good drugs :)

(I was meaning antibiotics :))

Thank you Ellachanted, hopefully it won't come to that, but if I disappear than you know where I am lol. I won't be happy either. My  computer is a desktop right now so I won't be able to take that with me to keep me company.

Don't get me wrong. I really liked E.P. It's just it got very repetative for me. It was an incredible story. I just had to skip over the POV in the other character voice. It was been there, done that, let's move to the next part.

My doctor says I have adult onset ADD meaning I wasn't diagnosed until I was well into my 30's. It's hard to keep focused for me. If I get to a slow point into a book or repetative parts I have to start skimming.

I'm like that with MotU now also. When I was reading along when it was a WIP I was fine. A chapter a week or every few weeks it held my attention. Re-reading it I shake my head of the repetativeness of Bella. It's the same thing over and over. So I just skip around to may favorite parts.

This is so me. I actually only read the twilight series once.  But some parts???  Yeah 200 times.  Skip the boing stuff and just go for the good stuff.  You know, like telling Charlie they're engaged. I said I like humor.

I still haven't read EP, but I started UoEM and just couldn't get into it. I'll probably try it again someday when I'm more in the mood  ;)

I loved EP. Def top five... I read UoEM and found it was better quality than MoTU. I'm still flabbergasted about the outcome of this story. The "new" nine and half weeks? I don't think so. Who the hell says 'Inner Goddess' anyway? I know I'm in the small majority in regards to MoTU but it just isn't a good fic. Wide Awake popped my Angst cherry.

Oh, and the first fic I read was Dark Side of The Moon... bawled my eyes out :)
~No, no. I'm laughing at you not with you~

And don't forget to press "Thank You" after downloading. Someone took the effort to find it, you should thank them.

LOL!  I used to do that with Harlequin romances.  And you know they are HEA.  I did that with a couple of stories - just to make sure. :)  I can deal with prior rape scenes but not current ones. Unless Bella gets rescued before something bad happened :-/

I loved EP until they split & then things started to annoy me,but that could've been because I stopped reading for a week or 2 because RL got in the way.
I would definitely read it again at some point - I don't do that with many FF unless I really liked them and can't get them out of my head.
As for UoEM I just couldn't get into no matter what.
I've just started Wide Awake & hope to finish it before my son is born coz Im pretty sure if I stop I wont be able to get into it again.
But this is what I love about FF - people give loads of different recs and we all have loads of different opinions on them.  :)

If you don't mind me asking, what does EP stand for?
Thanks  :-*

See I I think I'm a weird one. I loved EP Hard, I'll never eat Peanut Butter toast again without thinking of this fic, I lived on that the whole time I was reading, I did the same thing for "Like A Flame to A Moth" I also love UoEM. *Hangs head in shame* I didn't finish Wide Awake.

Tami

Comes in for a big wave. I know, I know. MIA all week. Those 14 hr workdays kill me some days. I had massive amounts to catch up on after the boycott and have been reading all of my updates. *wipes brow*.

So I will answer all of mine in one post since it took a whole cup of coffee to get caught up here. Thanks for the uploads this week ladies, as always they are appreciated. At least we can upload again. WHOHOO.

1.    Steph aka solosintwilight is going to send In Your World off to publishers next week. She states it will be a little different than the posted- a couple of Amish cultural changes she has learned about and some revisions to the smut- lol. She may also be switching it to 3rd person to integrate more of Edward (Nathan) into the book to round out the story, but right now it is still set it up as 1st person in Bella (Kate) POV. She did post her stories herself on dropbox to share even after she pulled. You will note Biology Project is there. No she is not pulling, but with the pulling of so many stories, she put it in her dropbox just in case. It seems most are already posted, but I thought I would share the link she has shared.

2.    I broke my ff cherry with Darkness by Cherry.blossumz when her first chp posted. Yep, broke it no less on a WIP just starting. While I waited for updates, I read completed ones and I still do the same today. The only difference is that I usually have a dozen or so wips going on.

3.    I read Motu I and II, EP, and UOEM as wips. Loved all three. I do have to admit that completed ones read much different than wips, you are not as sensitive about redundancy when you have waited for updates . I can also say that I don't re-read stories (my TBR list is just too long). I have done it only twice in my years of reading.
I own all of the above stories in printed form but have only re-read UOEM which became Gabriel's Inferno and Gabriel's Rapture. I was a little worried I wouldn't like it as much since I have read Edward/Bella for so long, but it actually didn't bother me.
The only other one I have ever re-read was Sin by mamasutra. I read it all as a wip, and I re-read it when it completed.

4.    The wip that has caught my attention is Power Panties, Broken Headboards, and Penis Charms by Nyddi. I discovered this author in the Fandom for Tsunami with a story called A Debt Repaid. Her other stories were all in my TBR list but she started migrating to TWCS, I started reading and have not stopped. I will read her other story Genesis next. Yup, I seem to be in love with Nyddi.

Broken Headboards, Power Panties, and Penis Charms
Summary:
A lonely man. The young, beautiful, obnoxiously horny girl he swore to protect. Question is, how did he protect her from himself and everything that came along with him? MASSIVE PERVERTEDNESS ON BEHALF OF THE FACEBOOK HUSSY SQUAD COMING RIGHT UP! E x B

#REVAMPED #REPOSTED #NEWDETAILS #BPP

Genesis
Summary:
One girl's soul holds the key to saving the entire human realm. Problem is, she is temptation incarnate. In comes the 'Unfallen', one of the last of his kind. He won't be keeping that status for long. ExB #Angelward #Drabble #Dark #Violent

#REVAMPED #REPOSTED #GEN

I will upload A Debt Repaid since it became several chapters after the contemplation and she has not re-posted yet. It is a great introduction to her writing style.
Summary: Two wrongs. One right. He met her under the worst circumstances. She was still married.

Love

I don't have a problem with "attaches" (after all there was violence from James in Twilight)  but to have her actually raped I have a problem with. I wouldn't feel the same for an original published fic. But on E/B stories I just can't do it. I don't think anyone can make her any stronger than S. Meyer did (all though I'm on the minority here, most everyone I've ever talked to thinks she's whiny, clingy, has no backbone) but I think the fact that she "survived" the world of mythical creatures and stood her ground makes her stronger than most give her credit for.

I totally agree with you.  I think Bella is strong also and find some of the complaints I hear about their relationship annoying. And when they complain about Edward being controlling - um he is, but only over himself to protect Bella.  Though I usually don't say anything, being in hiding and all *hides face*  Yes, I am a semi-closet Twihard.  My husband and some of my family know, but really, that's about it.   :-X

Although my husband still won't let me buy a large cardboard Edward *sighs unhappily*  Hmm.  maybe the closet will come in handy......

And speaking of wimpy Bella's.  They were talking about Fifty on a talk show & some lady said she didn't like the way it made controlling another good.  And I just realized if she only read the first book, it would seem that way.  Because by the end? Bella has all the power.

I was the same way with E.P. The alternating POV was the SAME thing. Down to the detail.

And I have the same issue with ADD and keeping interested. Idk how many fics I've flounced on b/c I just lost interest. It's actually quite frustrating  :pulling

Same here! I wouldn't read HL5 because it wasn't complete and I need complete when it's angsty. My anxiety can't handle angst WIPs lol.

Actually, I really only read completed fics now. When I used to read WIPs I had a hard time remembering what happened in the story last (esp if the author took a while to update) and always seemed forget important details. And I got kinda tired of really loving a fic, getting into it and it ended up being abandoned.

And I also read the epi, just to be sure they end up HEA  :) It's like once I know that all will be okay in the end, I can deal with any amount of heartfail lol

I hope you start feeling better ASAP, Tami :)

Most of the time I reread stuff is because I can't remember what happened because they took so long to update.

Most of the WIP's I do read are the regular updaters - and I usually wait to make sure they will update regularly. Though a few have slowed down & disappointed me, most have been good.

Otherwise, I'm with you - I don't read it until it's complete. Though I will download the WIP  ^-^

Thanks for the well wishes. You just described me in a nutshell. I'm okay once I know E/B will be okay lol. I'm the same for WIP, I just had a hissy fit (thank god no one saw it) I was reading a WIP that hadn't been updated since Feb. (that update asking for votes and saying another update was coming in a few days) well the author started posting a new story a couple of weeks ago, so I PM'D her asking about the story I was reading (which I had faithfully reviewed, rec'd & everything in between) only to get ignored. I'm a little pissed. Drotuno & Cara No are about the only two authors I'll faithfully read a WIP for anymore, those two are def. E/B HEA girls so I know I won't get major upset about any content.
