I heard that this story was pulled because it was essentially copied from Eternally Damned by twiXlite.

Just comparing the beginnings? It doesn't look like a copy. Though the premise is similar. Also, Eternally Damned seems a little better written. LOL!

I just remember reading in one of Twixlite's author notes while I was reading the story. It had too many similarities to be passed off as the other author's own fanfiction idea. That's just what I heard. I do know that Eternally Damned is a great piece of fanfic.

That is up to you. I know for myself, that I will never read the "other" story. I believe Twixlite and find what the other author did wrong.

I read on one recent post here that someone has over 5000 fics?

I think that was my post but the TFFL is not my collection but a list of fics where you can use the search tools on the blog to search the author's summary, etc.

The fics listed on my reading list are linked there too but that's only 2,300 or so.

LOL! I think I started reading FF sometime in 2010.

Hi ella,

Read any new humorous fics lately? I am already lining up my next one after i finish EP. Am still not hallfway through though(760th page). You know am not into drama or angst as i prefer humorous or romantic HEA. But for some reason, the highly rec'd ones are angsty and i decided to give them a try. Yeah, the last few ones i've read are quite tough Offside, Training the Cullen, Breach and now EP. Surprisingly, i loved them all. They were all well written and not too graphic with the abuse (well i dont know how it will go for the rest of EP but its bearable so far).

The 2 povs i like bec you know what the other is thinking. I just browse or quickly scan those parts if its too repetitive so it doesn't bother me.

Maybe the reason i can bear the angst is bec its not edward that's doing the abuse in those fics. I now realize why i couldn't finish Could Be Worse, Right? That mobward was too much for me. It's also the only one I read the ending bec i simply couldn't go through with it. i didn't like the ending of that as well though it was somewhat HEA. Edward did time? nahhh, am never gonna get through that.

Let me know of a really funny and romantic one so i have something to look forward to after I finish EP. I've read most of your recs for funny ones so am trying to look for a new one.

Did you ever read "The Cube" by SuddenlySandi? There are 3 more in the series plus a couple more about the kids. Bella is different. but it is funny. Savannavanssmutsmut has some good ones - The Quiet Girl and Irrevocable Abduction. And Better Than Pie is almost done.

Hopefully this gives you something to read.

Not sure if this is the case for BellaScotia - whom I hear is going back to school to get a degree and also going through a divorce, so she is having major life issues - but some writers feel that they don't want to leave their work hanging out there if they are no longer actively participating in the fandom. Some have said that while they won't rework and publish their fanfics, they may want to "borrow" plot or story lines or characterizations from their fanfiction stories to use in their original works. Some just don't want anyone to know that they started out in the fandom. I guess I understand these viewpoints, but yes, it does stink when stories are removed. But, the good news is that's why we're here folks - we're keeping them alive through sharing here!

I was only jesting regarding BellaScotia and you're right, a story being pulled is irrelevant thanks to the awesomeness that is Perusing...my personal nightmare are incompletes. Granted I have only been caught out a couple of times as I never read WIP but those couple of times it has happened has SCARRED me for life..

Did you ever read "The Cube" by SuddenlySandi? There are 3 more in the series plus a couple more about the kids. Bella is different. but it is funny. Savannavanssmutsmut has some good ones - The Quiet Girl and Irrevocable Abduction. And Better Than Pie is almost done.

So it seems this story has been claimed to be a copy of another story. I looked at the beginnings of both and they are different enough that I would question it without reading more. However, the writing is a little bad on Sammiee's story so I don't know if I will bother.

This is the story from which it was supposedly copied. The premise is the same but it looks like Edward is alone in the one and part of the Cullens in the other. Decide for yourselves

Wow, I had no idea there was a controversy over this story! Someone on ADF asked for it (I think?) and was just following up here to see if anyone had it. I really hate when this comes up because sometimes it is a judgment call...was the story coincidentally similar to another fic, or was it really copied with intent to steal someone else's work? I guess my opinion is to let the readers decide (whether to download or not). But if you feel strongly then by all means delete it. If the writing is bad, I probably would not read it anyway on that principle alone! Thanks for sharing and for letting us know about the issue. Will pass this info. along...

TOTALLY! Unfortunately, I haven't learned my lesson (as much as I SAY I'm not going to read WIP's I always break down when something just grabs me...) and I've been burned too many times to count.

I honestly don't know which is worse....a fic I love that is incomplete and abandoned - or fic I love that is incomplete and PULLED? I guess I will always hold out hope for the ones that are left up.

You're doing better than me, I arrived this year! I read on one recent post here that someone has over 5000 fics? Sheeeet! If it wasn't for this forum and the women ( I assume it's women, but who knows) here I wouldn't have read hardly any of the good stuff as many have been pulled. I am in awe of this message board, let me tell you....

I cant say i am doing better.specially when i read about other members here having 5000, 60K fics list , i feel like newbie who join fandom week ago.

I am part of fandom since almost 2 yr but i had read hardly around 200 fics..yes i have read few fics here & there but i lost interest in those fic in few chapters & dropped it so not counting those stories.But My fav fic list around 80 in my fanfiction.net account from 200 fics and i downloaded only 50 fics from those 80 fav fics list for re-read.You can say i am very picky, moody & strict about my preference.

And some awesome writers left fandom with thier stories doesnt help my situation either.

and some of stories are hidden & unpopular that noone know about it..Only by chance u come across.

Thanks to this forum i found some of my fav fic.this place is not hel ful to find fic but also help to find some hidden, unknown fics.Plus chitchat with other members about our fics interest is bonus.

SDFreeze came back as SuddenlySandi & she reposted pretty much all her stories. So they are still out there on ffnet. They are all good, but LEARN and FEEL are a little sadder. You may like them though, there is humor amongst the angst.
