LOL! Wasn't me, but that fits with the annoyance I was just feeling when I looked at some new FFnet Community alerts for fics with high reviews and they had one that looked interesting until I get to the end of the summary & see the words "ON HIATUS"  Really? They're rec'ing an incomplete fic that may never be finished?

At least LyricalKris updates pretty regularly

LyricalKris is like tim tams - you just can't stop once you start! I NEVER read WIPS, but just read The Rookie as a WIP. She does update regularly and has a 100% completion rate.

I won't be reading Betwixt and Betwwen as a WIP though - the update alerts often come in when I'm getting ready for work or am at work (due to the time difference) and it would not be a good look for a school principal to be hiding in a corner of a classroom reading fanfic on my phone!

The Rookie was great - as is everything I've read from LyricalKris. It had nice short little chapers - a bit longer than what I would call a drabble, a hot Copward (who doesn't love a man in uniform?) and a smattering of lemony goodness.

ps 7pm Saturday night here and the best thing on TV is Footloose! Not the remake but the Kevin Bacon, Let's Hear It For The Boy, redboot wearing, yellow VW Beetle driving ORIGINAL! I was 11 when this first came out and thought that the part when she tells her father that she's not even a virgin was scandalous. Fast forward 30 years and I'm singing the praises of RDMickey's Robporn, researching "electrical appliances"  and hoping to pick up 22 year old boys!

The only thing that hasn't changed is that Sarah Jessica Parker still has a horsehead and manhands!

Quick question: How long do you let pass before declaring a fic incomplete instead of WIP?

And you're right Lyrical Kris is very good, but not like Tim Tams because I abhor chocolate and I'm coeliac. I'd say more like Grapes, one grape is never enough...

Due to the fact that I am a lazy Uni student who is now on Summer Holidays I get to wake up to the alerts usually cause I can sleep in (not that I got up during the semester either...)!!

It's 8:45pm here (Daylight Saving I could kiss you) and people are watching something on ABC1 with Stephen Fry in it, and all I can do is hum Jeeves and Wooster in my head...

Decided to come up for air as Ella put it, since hubs has collapsed into the bed.

Oh ladies, isn't it nice to find more hoors from all over the world? Never mind that my oldest son is 4 yrs younger than Rob. * shrugs * I may never need hormonal enhancements during the change. Hubs swears I am going to kill him.

Recommendation: DON'T setup your computer for voice recognition. I'm not sure wtf it will do with all the moans, gasps, ooo's, and ah's.

Wait...don't they sell vibes with USB connections now?  Hum.... There's a thought......

LyricalKris, I just had a look at her profile, 46 stories 45 of which are complete? That must be some kind of record right? No incompletes, no hiatuses? WOW! And she really likes to mix it up doesn't she? There is something there for everyone, one of her stories is Rosalie/Edward one is Riley/Jasper and a couple just intriguingly say Bella or Jasper...I have stuck her in Favs, for sure!

It gives me hope when I see an author come back to their story after a year I now have a new bench mark before I delete a story from my list

Well you know both Vampire in the Basement and Hydraulic Level 5 both sat unfinished for over a year, when suddenly they started updating and were completed pretty quickly afterwards.  Now Hydraulic got pulled to publish after it was done, so there may have been some incentive there.  You can find it on the other thread.

So, I guess, unless they die....and sadly there are some really good stories out there which are not finished for that reason, there is alwsys the potential for an update. 

Slightly off topic but Ella I was reading some of the earlier post of 152 Fanfics book 2 there was a lot of posts regarding "allocating pages" and creating a table? What were you guys talking about and was it completed?

The table was completed (or mostly anyway, I believe) but then PTS made some changes that condensed the threads and all the links were wrong .

I think it has almost been redone but Scarlettraven is doing the final coding to insert it & I think life has gotten in the way.

Ok ladies, I asked this on another board, but I'm gonna ask here too.

Can someone rec me something deep and angsty, something that will pull me in FAST and not let me go? I don't care if it's AH/Vamp or if the main love interest is Edward or Jasper. I just want something that will suck me in and make me forget my own life for the day.   Something that is also well written. Fics with the FEEL I'm looking for include Wide Awake, CW&IA, Pound of Flesh, Colliding Meteors, An Imperfect Love, A Moment Changes Everything.

Have you read Insecurities by James Ramsey yet?  That would fit the bill...

Still it goes against all my instincts but, I glanced at it when someone rec'd it on this thread and it SUCKED ME IN!!! Luckily CaraNo, has a good reputation for completing her fics and so far she's been updating 3 times a day! I'm keeping my fingers crossed..

Who the hell is Peter?!

Peter & Charlotte, Jasper's friends, you see him in Breaking Dawn. In most fics, he's one that Jasper made during the Southern Wars with Maria, Peter is mated to Charlotte, another newborn Jasper helped make and train, and they escape together, and come back for Jasper. I don't remember how much of this is canon though, and how much of it is from all the other fics out there.
