I haven't read any of the stories you've just mentioned but I've placed A Friend on my TBR list as I quite liked The Red Line....I know why there's no sarcasm emoticon sign..the site is American; it has been documented that sarcasm tends to be a very Brit/Aussie form of wit.
OMG! Are you kidding? Us Americans are horribly sarcastic.  I remember wishing for a sarcasm icon LOL!

I was trying to read a tufano story as well.  The Bio says she's a music teacher. She may teach piano or singing.  Doesn't require a degree if you don't teach at a school.  Because I can't figure out how she passed English.  Her stories suck you in. But aaaaiiiieeeeee the spelling, grammar & sometimes juvenile writing...... yeah.

Sorry that was probably too much.  It was so frustrating - wanting more and wanting to flounce at the same time was driving me bonkers ;)

I thought that was the ability to take the mickey (Yay, more cockney slang) or just be overall self-deprecating (N.b Kath & Kim, Jeeves and Wooster...)? Sarcasm is everyone's best friend.

Debating reading any of these stories now. Bad grammar and spelling (more the grammar though) are the main reasons I give fics the flick. For some reason I can't deal with it. Are the plots really good? Because if yes I may mark them as ones I need to give a cursory (or slightly more detailed...) edit before I dive in...

That would be awesome. LOL Holga the Hot Waxer. I originally read that as the Twat Waxer, lol!

I remember reading a fic where Bella was changed in an emergency, so she didn't get the chance to "prep". There was a chapter about her shaving. I have this vague recollection of B&E being in some flash hotel suite and it all being quite erotic because Edward had to use a hunting knife to remove all the hair - ALL the hair - so it was basically foreplay. The explanation was that once the hair was gone, it wouldn't grow back because vampires aren't living. I cannot for the life of me remember the fic - I did think it was Music Lessons by Locque You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login but after a super quick scan, I don't think so.

I would kill for that! Have you guys heard of NADS? It is an aussie product that was promoted on those tv infomercials. Despite having the funniest name ever, it was invented by a women with hairy daughters, who is also the devil - it hurts going on, let alone when you rip it off!

I also recall another fic where Bella was changed, and Jake had to nibble her body hair off because wolf teeth were the only things strong enough to cut through vamp hair.

Why am I addicted to this shit!!! :banghead:  :D

You are all right. I remember reading somewhere about this but it was irony not sarcasm that the author claimed Americans struggled with. But I'm saying this as an impartial passer on of trivia! And that might have been before the globalization of the last 20 years....

This is my dilemma - the plot is good...and bad!

I can't rec it, but I can't stop reading the bloody thing either! And I just know that I will read the sequel when it's done  :ohcrap:

As for the grammar, the tense jumps all over the place, irregular use of singular and plural - it's just all over the shop.

:D :D :D That is one thing I always though would be good about being a Vampire, the whole unchanging/ frozen in time thing means as long as I was nicely groomed before being changed I'd never have to wax again. Oh the bliss.

I only have two question, does it work? How long between treatments. A hollywood bikini wax hurts but the pain is amplified by the thought that in 4 mofo weeks you'll be back spreading your legs, again! So finding something that works for good?...I don't care about how much it hurts, *gritting my teeth*

Imagine a wolf biting your pubic hair? That image will stick with me for a while...not in a good way.

Yeah, I remember reading something similar, but I think it's Aussies that take the crown for self-deprecating humour.

Nads is the same - hurts like a bitch and stays hair free for only as long as it takes for the hair to grow back. I only tried it once and it grabs onto your hair as soon as you apply so as you put it on, it tugs on every little hair, and then you get to rip it out too. Ouch! The only thing that made it better than wax was you use it cold (but I find warm wax opens up the pores so the hair slips out a bit easier) and you can wash it off with water (which was good, because I just couldn't finish doing my legs).

I have a lot of hair and all of my hair grows from my bones, though (thanks Dad!) so maybe others have better experiences.

Buy Australian!

From what I have read, Peter is built up much more in ficdom, especially the Jasper/Bella pairings, where Peter is almost always a major player. At least in the ones I've read so far.

I love the way the fandom has built their own personalities for so many characters in the series, and how it seems to spread and permeate so many other people's works.

I LOVE both Peter and Char in the Jasper fics....and am usually pretty disappointed when they aren't present. I love the dynamic they add.

I haven't read any Peter/Bella pairings yet, but have several downloaded. I have no doubt I'll give those a shot once I get through all of the Jasper fics I have.

And....the fic I posted the other day? Echoes of the Storm? It was good....but I thought the ending kinda sucked. It was almost almost as if it were rushed through? Idk. Not a favorite for sure

Isn't that about a bad marriage? Not sure if I'm up for that right now, lol, but I'll keep it in mind.

Okaies! Don't think I'll bother with this one then. Thanks.

NADS is nasty stuff. I've only ever waxed and now most of my hair is superfine and in summer bleaches as it grows back, so I can get away with waiting 6 to 8 weeks between my treatments. Thank the lord. Sometimes I just think forking out for laser treatment would be worth it despite the pain, oh to never have to worry about hair again!

God, this is so off topic but what the hell we've started so.. I've stared to use the Braun Silk épil, You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login ( amazon in the UK had the cheapest price)  if you use it when the hair isn't too long it's not too painful (no more so than waxing) and the hair grows back as is you're waxing, so finer and no coarse edges (as when shaving) I would definitely recommend it. There! I got the word recommend into my post bringing it somewhat back from the edge.... :D

Tried laser for my underarms..it didn't work (though saying that my hair is pretty dark) so after spending 100's of pounds and weeks of wasted time...I'm no better off until....( see previous post for my solution)

The story ideas are really good. The plot is almost good enough to get over the writing.  They probably need a little editing in addition to the grammar/word usage/spelling issues.  So I'd probably save the stories for a time when you are not tired and irritated by other things.....because these stories won't help.  Does that make sense?  ;)

Yes, we do have trouble with irony.   :o  So that was probably what it is.  Kind of like the song by Alannis Moisette (Ironic)  Supposedly most of what she calls ironic is just bad luck.  And though I think she is Canadian, us Americans thought it was right ::)  ;)
