Ok ladies, I asked this on another board, but I'm gonna ask here too.

Can someone rec me something deep and angsty, something that will pull me in FAST and not let me go? I don't care if it's AH/Vamp or if the main love interest is Edward or Jasper. I just want something that will suck me in and make me forget my own life for the day.   Something that is also well written. Fics with the FEEL I'm looking for include Wide Awake, CW&IA, Pound of Flesh, Colliding Meteors, An Imperfect Love, A Moment Changes Everything.
Have you tried Loner by Nilla?  I think there are numbers after her name :)

It's pretty angsty but well written if I remember correctly. ;)

Who the hell is Peter?! ???

P.S. *whispers, slightly cringing* I have started reading a WIP*glup*  White Picket What? It's just too funny!! Still it goes against all my instincts but, I glanced at it when someone rec'd it on this thread and it SUCKED ME IN!!! :-[ :021: Luckily CaraNo, has a good reputation for completing her fics and so far she's been updating 3 times a day! :cheer: I'm keeping my fingers crossed.. 8)

Summary: "Edward, didn't you use the condom?" she asks, and he wrings his
hands awkwardly and replies, "Ummmm, yes?

I have to say... I don't like White Picket, what? I love all Carano's stuff but this one *shakes head* I flounced this one.

I just went back ....I think it may be one you need to read all at once.  It's like a car crash. Or one of those TLC programs where you wonder do people like this really exist???  Next thing you know they'll be making moonshine and duck whistles.  I did tell her I was wondering where the trailers were. :D :D :D :D  :-[  ::)

Peter and Charlotte.  Who helped Jasper escape from Maria after Jasper let them escape together because they were in love.

Peter & Charlotte, Jasper's friends, you see him in Breaking Dawn. In most fics, he's one that Jasper made during the Southern Wars with Maria, Peter is mated to Charlotte, another newborn Jasper helped make and train, and they escape together, and come back for Jasper. I don't remember how much of this is canon though, and how much of it is from all the other fics out there.

Oh! Yes I remember him now from BD..but, from what I remember he wasn't really a central figure, was he? How odd to have him paired up with Bella, if anyone ever reads this I'd be interested to know how it pans out...

I'm only a few chapters in and I must say the writing isn't brilliant but then CarNo isn't YellowGlue and though I'm not really a fan if I'm honest, I really didn't like Isla de Cullen, it's does have though some, what I'd call, pretty good toilet humour, humour that caters to the lowest possible common denominator, sometimes that is just what I need. It's Dumb and Dumber rather than Saturday Night Live.

From what I have read, Peter is built up much more in ficdom, especially the Jasper/Bella pairings, where Peter is almost always a major player. At least in the ones I've read so far.

I love the way the fandom has built their own personalities for so many characters in the series, and how it seems to spread and permeate so many other people's works.

Yes, there's a huge Jasper following in the fandom and that sort of spun off into a big Peter following.  IDreamofEddy who coined the 'God of War' image for Jasper in Colliding Meteors also wrote The Orbiting Meter which is a Peter/Bella.  Alas, it's been abandoned :'(.  What I wouldn't give for it to be completed!!

Anyhoo, there's actually tons of Peter/Bella out there.  Most author's portray him as a possessive, funny, sex fiend.  There's a lot of Jasper fics where he's all kinds of awesome!!
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

I like CaraNo. Not too angsty. Light, easy reads. Always HEA. Super consistent updates. Usually a bit of light comic relief.

I always forgive CaraNo any spelling/grammar errors - I figure her English is way better than my Swedish! My Swedish consists solely of a really bad imitation of the Swedish Chef from the Muppets. Please tell me that someone else here is old enough to remember the Swedish Chef!

I read in an a/n that this one is crackfic, and I usually avoid those (long story short - I read one years ago where the first chapter was actually quite good, then chapter 2 had Bella watching Charlie as he danced around the kitchen in a pink tutu while he masterbated :sign0137:. Too weird (yes Demaris - even for me!).)

I will give it a go (I'm very loyal) but I'm waiting for her to finish before I start this one.

I remember the Swedish chef, do di do di do di do di do di do di do...Don't get me wrong her spelling and grammar aren't that bad at all I was thinking more about the complexity of her writing (even though it's humorous/light hearted) but then i had no idea she was Swedish so...

Have you read Knock Love Out yet? ( yes i know i've been pimping this story out all week) I think it'll be right up your street gwrrrr!  :sign0151:

I read her stuff here and there between angsty stuff.  Though some are not as humorous,  like River,  but most are. :)

Have you read Knock Love Out yet? ( yes i know i've been pimping this story out all week) I think it'll be right up your street gwrrrr!  :sign0151:

Not yet - I have loved everything else that Danieller123 has written so I have a copy of it on my TBR list.

I did read Trash & Darlins and it was ok for a laugh - sometimes I just need to read something that doesn't require brain action.

I'm still (STILL!!!) going through the As on my e-reader. My summer vacation starts in 6 weeks so my latest plan is that, if I make it through the next 6 weeks, I will spend the break sitting by the pool reading. I guess that's one of the perks of being single and childless...

I'm currently reading A Fresh Start You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login Has anyone else read this? Tufano79 is working an a sequel at the moment. It's 755 pages and I've been running hot & cold throughout. Firstly, the grammar and punctuation are driving me nuts - and I just saw on the author's profile that she is a teacher *cringe*. And I thought the Australian education system was in trouble!!! I should put my hand up to pre-read, but I read for enjoyment and a break from what I do all day at work.

Just when I decide to flounce A Fresh Start, something happens to suck me back in. All the usual stereotypes are there: Alice's bouncing on her toes - they even call her Elf, Bella's collapsing on the floor meltdowns because of her self esteem issues, etc, etc. At the moment, B&E are trying some "kinky" stuff  - she blindfolded him. Ooooo (insert sarcasm sign here - why does the little emoticon man not have a sarcasm sign???).

B&E both have all of this emotional baggage and the tension of starting a new relationship with all of the baggage starts to build, but then they jump into being madly in love, living together, engaged, planning babies, etc. It just all moves too quickly and the characters, dialogue, etc aren't consistent.

Next on my reader is A Friend In Heaven by Winndsinger You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login I read The Red Line (back in 2009 - holy shit! Where have the last 3 years gone?).

Should I give this one a go or just skip it? I have 4309 fics on my TBR list + 401 "real books"! I need to start being a little more discerning!

I haven't read any of the stories you've just mentioned but I've placed A Friend on my TBR list as I quite liked The Red Line....I know why there's no sarcasm emoticon sign..the site is American; it has been documented that sarcasm tends to be a very Brit/Aussie form of wit.

Hellll noooo! I'm British!  :D

I have a question. Do female vampires ever have to worry about bikini waxes? In the story I'm reading Bella gets changed on her honeymoon, as most women would make sure that that is the one time in their lives that they are guaranteed fuzz free...I'm assuming she will luckily spend eternity never having to visit Holga The Hot Waxer ever again!
